I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the Purist Villas and Spa. It started right from the beginning. We were told that they would have to charge my credit card again because my account number changed and they said they would refund the initial charge, after charging my card again for the entire hotel stay, I was told that the refund will take 14days. What? If I would have know that, I would have not agreed to charge my card a second time. Then in the room the AC was not working properly. At night we woke up sweating. It was colder outside than inside our room. We had asked to get it fixed, but the first night, no one came and the second day, it worked for a little while, and then stopped working again. Also we noticed that our luggage was gone through, my husband wallet was in a different spot from where he had left it. As far as I kow nothing was missing. There were stains on the curtains that separated the toilet from the bedroom. The pool area was not as private and secluded as expected. We saw employees going up and down the stairs while in our private pool, but the worst thing was on night 2, our last night. It was raining heavily outside for an hour and our roof was leaking and rain water was dripping on our pillows while we were sleeping at 3am. Considering that this trip was for our 20th anniversary, I was extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I expect more from a 4.5 star hotel with a price tag like that.

River villa 3 was gorgeous. The quality of the materials used to build the villa and the property in general was top notch. The decor of the bathroom was so luxurious it felt like a mini spa. The most awesome part of my stay was the service. All of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. They remembered my name and made me feel special every day. On my birthday the staff surprised me with roses a flower bath and dessert. I loved staying at The purist and was so sad to leave.

Thank you once again ‘Purist’ for being a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of tropical BaliI. I have stayed here three times now and it just gets better each time. I stayed with friends in the Hill Villa and it felt like paradise. Special thank you to the staff who are so attentive and lovely. Will hopefully be back soon. Anne

Purist Villas is perfectly located just north of the core of Ubud. Their free shuttle service into the centre of town however makes it incredibly easy to go enjoy the food and culture of the city, if you can drag yourself away from the comfort of the villas, the spa amenities my girlfriend enjoyed, and amazing pools. Beyond the ultra-comfortable rooms (the detailing of the suites blew us away) the included breakfast was better than most we were able to purchase inside Ubud or in tourist-heavy Seminyak or Kuta. Service was also fantastic, where it felt like our rooms where cleaned every time we stepped away to a meal or to the city. We'd definitely recommend this for couple or families.

BEWARE: $500 mysteriously disappeared from the safe, and had to chose between working with Police for hours or do tourism on our last day at checkout. A nice t-shirt also disappeared. Apart from this, the place is excellent, so just be careful with your stuff.

Service is excellent and the villa was very well stocked with everything you need. I had a bamboo pool room and it was very spacious.

Beautiful boutique, luxury hotel. Two Big stylish rooms with lovely terraces (suite 1 and 2 - upstairs) were perfect for our family of 4 (parents and two teenage boys). Staff were friendly and very kind. Food was delicious. Atmosphere very quiet and peaceful with shuttle bus into Ubud if you want more restaurants/bars/people. Loved the two big pools. We stayed 3 nights but could happily have stayed for a week. Perfect start to our holiday. Recommend the silversmith workshop if you are interested in making Jewelry.

Everything about the Purist is fantastic. Service is great, breakfast was delicious, the villa was spacious and nicely decorated, and we loved the private pool. It is located slightly out of town but there are a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. Also, they provide a shuttle into town at designated times, or they get your own driver for you for cheap. Our family travels extensively and we never go to the same place twice, but we’ve all said we want to go back to the Purist.

Beautiful villas in a quiet location. Fantastic pools. Easy walk into town or short shuttle ride. Friendly and helpful staff. My 3rd stay here and will definitely return- consistenly fabulous.

Purist is one of the best hotels in Ubud. There are fancier name hotels but you will not get a better value or more personalized service than Purist. It is a beautiful boutique hotel just close enough to the hustle of central Ubud. Purist was a lovely tranquil zen like home base for our adventures in Ubud.

The Purist Villas are utterly stunning. We stayed in the Yoklo residence and it was by far the most beautiful place we’ve ever visited. The staff is SO accommodating, providing multiple drop offs and pickups throughout the day and ready to help at a moments notice. Every single staff member is absolutely delightful, the food in the restaurant is delicious, and the spa is lovely. If you find yourself in Ubud you should absolutely go out of your way to stay here, you will not regret it. It’s a little slice of heaven in the jungle!

The service and staff are fantastic. We stayed here 4 nights 3 in the jungle villa and one in the bamboo villa. Had to switch rooms from Bamboo 1 because the roof started leaking during a strong deluge. That said, the front desk was prompt, courteous and extremely apologetic, and quickly moved us to the Bamboo 2 which was just as nice.We would definitely come back here again.

This place is paradise, it was completely beyond our expectations. The whole place is so beautiful I never wanted to leave. The villas are huge, spotless and beautiful. The staff were so friendly, they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We didn’t have a private pool but it didn’t matter as the 2 main pools were always so quiet! We would come back in a heartbeat!

All staff are helpful and friendly, good services all the time, excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Quiet and beautiful villa. Free shuttle bus can also access Ubud market and the town easily.

We stayed in River Villa 3 and couldn’t be happier. If you’re looking for that peaceful Bali Experience with beauty and excellent service... look no further. The small resort is as advertised. Close; but, not too close to Ubud Central. Amazing grounds,rooms, and beyond exceptional staff. They became like family for us. My biggest surprise... the food! Breakfast included was excellent. Plus, the dinner menu was delicious and filled with a variety of Balinese food and other options. We ate at the restaurant on property more than we thought. For the best ROI look no further. Everything you need for a terrific Ubud home base to explore Bali.

THE PURIST is an incredible luxury boutique hotel. Very private. Staff is amazing and wonderfully friendly. The rooms, even the Garden Suite where I stayed, are beautiful. My room was spacious with a huge bathroom with deep soaking tub and private yoga deck facing the jungle. It even had its own koi pond. The free breakfast was ala carte and perfection every morning, as was afternoom tea. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We had the best stay ever at The Purist Villas & Spa. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away how beautiful everything was and the impeccable service. We really enjoyed the pool at our villa as well as the other two pools that were surrounded by breathtaking jungle view. It's a fabulous place designed with attention to details and the staff is phenomenal. We were so pleased that they had a vegan menu. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud, you will be amazed.

IT has its unique decor with all the facilities of the 5-star hotel and yet gives the feel of the countryside. The staff is impeccable. Very considerate, helpful and courteous
