The accommodations were subpar and service was worse

The entire staff was fantastic! Very helpful, courteous, and personable. The resort property was awesome and definitely recommend.

The property is in a great location, near great dining options, walkable to bith west bay and west end. Sophisticated but low key...island style!

This property is such a quiet, relaxing place to simply get away from it all. The staff is friendly, professional, and accommodating to every need. The property is clean, modern, and very well-appointed. I would definitely recommend Xbalanque to anyone desiring a private, secluded, upscale beach property. The Lotus restaurant onsite has really good food and drink; the sea bass was probably one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. You won’t be disappointed staying at Xbalanque!

Amazing property. I believe we were the only ones staying at this beautiful boutique hotel. Definitely use the water taxi to get to West Bay and West End. I highly recommend boat captain BIG JOHN - took my fiancé and myself to several snorkeling spots and a shipwreck. Great time.

Absolutely beautiful property - infinity pool right on the beach. Stayed in Adelaide Mar Suite - was stunning!! The staff are so welcoming and make it extra special A big thank you to Randy, Omar, Michael, and William!!

First of all- let me say that i did not miss home whatsoever! I loved everything about our stay from our luxurious room to the hotel staff! We were treated like family and enjoyed the pool and beautiful beach, we COULD NOT find better food off the resort. We tried. Asked for recommendations from everyone and just realized we had it good at Xbalanque. Huge perk was that it was empty- we had the whole place to ourselves! We specifically chose it because it said adult only, but found out that kids to frequent the hotel. Wasn’t an issue- just making any of you aware that want nothing to do with kids. Couple of concerns/notes: nightlife is nonexistent. If you want entertainment, go somewhere else for that then come back to the hotel. There was a singer for live music night on Saturday that was SOOOO depressing. Killed the fun we were trying to have. Also make sure to bring cash for the water taxis. And all the bug repellent you can get your hands on. It would be nice if they could plant some citronella or have tiki torches to ward of some of the bugs. Inside the rooms is fine but as soon as you open the doors, the mosquitoes are waiting.

The property was well kept. The views are gorgeous. We really enjoyed our time at the property. I would recommend doing something about the mosquitoes. We were eaten up, even though we sprayed several times daily! If you coming to stay, bring your repellent!

They helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations, and also transportation to and from restaurants - making everything really easy.Our room (one of the lofts) was very spacious and comfortable - we were there for a week and we were grateful to have such a beautiful and comfortable space to come home to every day.The grounds, pool, hot tub & dock are beautiful and well kept - a great spot to stay if you're looking to get away from the commercial / touristy spots of West Bay. The hotel / pool / restaurant never felt crowded.Our diving outfitter (Roatan Divers, also highly recommend) picked us up from the hotel's private dock each day making staying here even more convenient.

The facility is beautiful. Rooms are excellent. We were there for diving. The dive boat picked us up right behind the hotel. Patsy is there over seeing all the details. She makes sure all the guests are well taken care of.

I cannot say enough about how perfect this place is! The secluded setting between two happening spots was just right for us. The resort is impeccably designed by the owner herself. It’s as gorgeous as the beachfront view. The hospitably and the food is just amazing. Extras like kayaks and snorkel gear onsite for convenient use. If you’re looking to be spoiled in paradise this place is not to be missed.

I recently visited Roatan and stayed until this hotel for 3 days. From the moment we got picked up in the airport we were felt welcome. The hotel is simply beautifully designed and extremely well appointed. The staff were eager to please, very helpful and made us feel at home. The location was ideal as it was seclude and private but at the same time close to the island amenities. The hotel restaurant have good food well priced and there was plenty of activities to do such as kayaking snorkel or scuba diving .... Although we were happy to just relax and enjoy the scenery! I would like to thank the staff and the owner for make our stay so special. Overall it was a wonderful experience and wished that I could have stay more time. I will definitely return!

We stayed at this resort for one week. It is on the beach front with 2 private piers with lounges and hammocks. The suites are large, modern and attractively-decorated condominium-styled units. The two pools, bar, restaurant, small gym and lobby areas are inviting and spotless. Massage services are available in a new beach-front enclosed gazebo. We spent a cocktail hour beside the gas fire pit. All of the friendly staff were very accommodating. We were fortunate to be at the resort when the owner, Patsy, was there. She went out of her way to ensure that all of our needs were quickly and efficiently looked after. The resort has a highly rated restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and specializes in local fresh seafood and other tasty dishes. Walking distance to either West End or West Bay, or you can take a water taxi. Nice quiet beach front.
