First time staying here and we weren’t disappointed. Room was spacious and airy , bed very comfortable. Welcome pack was good. Shower was great and bathroom was immaculate. My only suggestion was to add a handrail inside the shower and maybe a small corner shelf for shampoo, conditioner , shower gel it’s much better for someone disabled. Breakfast is a 10/10 cooked well and tasted amazing full cooked breakfast. It’s actually situated perfectly to travel and see other places from. Parking was free and good. It’s very handy for the train station and the retail park for shopping. We are definitely going back again and we can bring our dog which is an extra bonus for us. I don’t drink but my husband does and felt that the bar would be better with tap beers.

Comfortable overnight stay. Good parking available and the hotel is situated conveniently just on the edge of the town centre. There was a nice selection at breakfast of cereals, yoghurts, jams etc. Nice addition of an iron/ironing board in the room rather than have to go and ask for one.

We enjoyed our stay. The only real downside is the lack of elevator; walking up 2 flights of stairs will luggage is a bit of a slog.

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy bed. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant one of the nights we stayed.

My choice to stay in the royal when working in elgin ,,, have stayed many times, and will stay many more

Decor was very tired and not too clean ...very old hotel staff were friendly, When i booked on the sight it said psrking but when i arrived there was no parking

Front of hotel is nice, modern looking. However room decor is very dated. Plug socket in room was cracked. Couldn’t drink out of glass because there was a smell of cleaning product in it! Noise from other guests on the second night disturbed our sleep. However the lady serving breakfast and doing the housekeeping couldn’t do enough for us, unfortunately never got her name. Breakfast was good.

Absolutely terrible hotel locked up phone number to get check in nobody at hotel given an annexe room no bar restaurant open all closed seen 1 employee the 2 days I was there. I would like some recompense for the terrible stay. I was told by the employee if I didn’t like it to check out and find somewhere else. I wasted over £200

Unexpected charge for room

I stay in Elgin quite often with work. The room was immaculate and modern unlike a lot of the others around the same price range that are very dated. Staff friendly and an all around good wee hotel.Would recommend and happily stay again.

Room was dirty plumbing was bad staff unconcerned.could not find staff when needed parking was sparce

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel for bed & breakfast. A friendly hotel with attentive staff and a good breakfast to cater for all tastes. Room was large and had a very comfortable bed. it was also well maintained and clean. We would use the hotel again when we are visiting the northern end of Speyside.

We had a family room and we pleased with the size of the room and cleanliness of the property as a whole. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel !

There was no heating on in the dining room at breakfast.This resulted in the breakfast being served like warm and getting cold very quickly.Whenwe arrived the previous evening there were no staff in the bar to serve pre diner drink and we had to go looking for staff 3 times to ask for service.

The bed was uncomfortable and the stairs very difficult with bags.
