The location was amazing with access to lots of shops, water, and entertainment. Although it's a dirty neighborhood with a lot of transients, it felt safe inside once the door closed behind me. The staff were helpful before and throughout my stay. I enjoyed meeting new people and the 'pub crawl.' The sleeping space is very tight, but I think it's fairly typical of hostels. I enjoyed my stay!

I did feel more needs to be done so that people dont hang out on fire escape. Much opening and closing of that door which made me feel a little insecure

It was so fun to be right across the street from Pike Place Market and a couple blocks from Seattle Art Museum. Staff was lovely and I felt very safe.

The staff really make this hostel special, they are accommodating and kind. The area is very close to the Pike Place Market, which can be a little intimidating at night, but I felt safe in the hostel. Would stay again.

The front desk was super nice and the hostel is in a great location, just some homeless people outside in the street.

I was only disappointed by the frequency and schedule for cleaning. I was impressed upon arrival. As the crowd started getting there, it became nasty quickly. Otherwise, reminds me of a Church style cleaning gig. Very tidy and clean but very old wooden styles.

The fan next to the bed is filthy. Also property is not ADA compatible

It is a good environment for hostel

Let me say it like this: If you don't like this hostel, then hostels aren't for you. The Greentortoise Hostel in Seattle is the best thought through hostel I have ever been in. Their breakfast is outstanding good, the staff is topfit and they know how to manage the details, like electricity on bed, little privacy in the bunk bed rooms and locker under bed with enough size. The only thing it was always lacking is aircondition. They now have fixed even that. Trust me, go here and if you don't love it, stay away from hostels.

Great location. Close to everything important. Staff was friendly and helpful. Met my expectations for the most part. Overall not a bad place. Only thing I would recommend is keeping the showers cleaner.

Everything was excellent except for the sleeping. There was construction happening from 2-4am at the time of my stay and I was sleeping near the window.

Such a great stay, really fun place. Clean, friendly, and so convenient.

The staff are very cooperative (Best), and Good value for money, my main concern is the condition of other guests sharing the room with you, which is a matter of luck.

I truly appreciate the people that worked there but the place was just scary to be in.

My very first time staying a night in a hostel and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind to me. When asking about general niceties and whatnot they were incredibly responsive and gave me a simple rundown of do's and don'ts. The hostel is in a very nice spot in the city surrounded by businesses and made it very easy to get back to late at night after a concert. The shower's have very nice pressure behind them and the toilets work well. As for bed's they were on the slightly harder side, however, I dont mind and almost prefer that surface instead. The Hostel offers nightly activities to get a community engaged, and althought it was a bar crawl and I could not participate it seems hypothetically very fun. As long with the other activities they have planned for the future. The common space is very open and I believe fosters conversation although I did not partake in any during my stay. The complimentary breakfast helps give an easy start to the day and is entirely appreciated as well with the supplied eggs which once again, I did not partake. I cannot recommend this hostel any more for nightly stay at a fantastic price in an incredibly expensive city.

Everyone was so friendly, this was definitely a great experience for my first time in Seattle!

I felt super taken care of by the staff at Green Tortoise!

I slept in the dormitory, 8 bunk beds. Not a lot of room for personal stuff, but a large locked space under the beds. The mattress was comfortable. Mostly it was very quiet, but the last night I stayed, a Wed night must have been garbage day on Thursday, a lot of noise outside at 5:30 in the morning. But there were always bathrooms available and hot water and the atmosphere was safe and friendly.

Needs to be updated urgently. The smell in the rooms is disgusting. The staff is nice and the location convenient.

Great prices. But definitely bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

Close to Pike's Place market. The Hostel seemed safe, but right outside the front door, just be careful. Seattle's homeless and drug problem isn't hidden here. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and they had a lot of activities and amenities. With the cheap price, I would highly recommend, but only for savvy travelers.
