Great place to stay Will use it again

Very beautiful and relaxing

My husband and I stayed here for the first time. We love coming to Galveston for little quick getaways, and The Mansion on 17th was absolute perfection. From the communication right after we booked, to the recommendations from the staff, and the wonderful kind staff. That’s just the start. Then you get to the mansion, and it’s like you walked into a different era. The rooms are lovely, the happy hour is fun, and the breakfast is to die for! Made from scratch for you with different options to choose from. It’s within walking distance to the Strand and lots of options for places to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already looking to book again soon!

First time staying here and it is gorgeous! I will for sure be staying here next time I'm in Galveston.

OMG this place is so CUTE! We booked just one night before leaving on a cruise. The room was huge, and had a very cute screened in porch attached with and excellent view. We walked a couple of blocks and had some wonderful and reasonably priced Tex-Mex food! I had not planned on eating breakfast, but my husband went down for coffee and he said we just HAD to eat because it looked so good. And it was wonderful! I had scrambled eggs with crab and hollandaise sauce that was to die for. I would definitely recommend staying here!

We celebrated my son’s birthday and really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic breakfast and amazing French press fresh coffee with it. Bed was very comfortable. Exceptional staff. Would definitely stay again.

Outstanding Victorian mansion in the heart of Galveston. Absolutely impossible to say a bad thing about this place!! I was actually greeted at the front gate by Aaron, their concierge and and Jack of all trades. He then served a small group of of at the open bar for the evening and drove us to the port to catch our ship the next morning. Such a fine and friendly gentleman. Breakfast was outstanding, and service there top notch. The room (The Laura) was spacious and comfortable, with a walk out porch on the second floor. House is situated within walking distance of the Strand, which means so many shops, restaurants and other entertainment are close. Yes this is amazing, but the staff in this place just add that magical touch you just can't find anywhere anymore.

Great stay in a historic place

I feel like the other reviews were misleading. It is a nostalgic property but not what I was expecting from the pictures and reviews. It is definitely a 100 year old house. Window ac unit. No real door locks. Just the little twist lock on the door knob. Door to the balcony only closed with a little piece of metal. Not what I was expecting. This was for our 20th wedding anniversary date night and I was so disappointed. I almost cried. For $290 I expected more. We did not try the food as we were just staying to sleep there. We had other plans.

Beautiful 100 yr old building! Great staff and beautiful room!

This B&B is beautiful and welcoming. The restored historic home has much more charm than a modern hotel for those of us who appreciate old world character. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and the additions of a social hour in the afternoon and a gourmet breakfast make this place a great value for your money.

Well kept period mansion with an amazingly attentive staff

Everyone was so welcoming. Reception hour was nice. Breakfast and coffee service was AMAZING. The mansion was quite charming.

This property is exceptional, the owners are amazing. Happy hour daisy and breakfast is delicious. If you are a coffees drinkers, just sit and relax by the porch with coffee. Love this place

Great Hosts and breakfast!

I absolutely loved this little mansion hotel !!! The staff was amazing. I didn’t realize it when I booked but it included happy hour and breakfast. The breakfast is made to order and yummy !! And all the staff have the history of the mansion. They also have a golf cart shaped like and old car. It was an easy walk to the strand. Wonderful place to stay !!

Lovely southern charm! The room was fancy and comfortable with historical charm but good functionality and breakfast with amazing -- simple and tasty for even picky eaters.

Absolutely stunning decor for the time period of the home. Gorgeous flower arrangements. Breakfast was superb. Staff was very friendly , helpful and accommodating!!

We stayed here last night and just fell in love with everything about this place. The staff were amazing, the breakfast was incredible and our room and the rest of the property stunning. Comfiest bed and sheets. We did a tour with Aaron and learned all about the area and its fascinating history. 10/10 recommend and we will be back!

We loved the Mansion, the antique and unique look of everything. The service and breakfast is amazing. The coffee one of the best i have tried. We chose this stay for our 9th wedding anniversary. And would stay there again.

My friend and I LOVED the Mansion on 17th! Tammy and her staff were friendly, hospitable, and very kind. We never needed anything as they were very accommodating. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay! I look forward to recommending this place to other friends and family!

The Mansion on 17th was an incredible getaway for me and my husband. It is probably one of the best stays on the Island. The breakfast was phenomenal, the staff is fantastic and attentive and the property is beautiful. Social hour was fun and drinks were great! Only issue was the tvs in the bedroom not working properly but definitely not a reason not to return!, and I’m sure they are working on fixing the problem. We will most certainly be returning for future island stays!!

Shortly after booking this stay, a representative from the property reached out and introduced themselves and they stayed in contact up until the day I was to stay. They helped me find transportation to Galveston from Houston. Unfortunately the day I was supposed to arrive, my flight from DFW to Bush was canceled! But, my sister was able to make it and said everything at the Mansion on 17th was wonderful! Staff was upset about my situation and showed genuine concern. I hate I missed my stay there but I am glad my sister had a great experience. If I’m ever in Galveston or go on another cruise, I’ll definitely book again, and hopefully get to actually stay!

1 night stay before a cruise vacation. Very old and historic home that has been well maintained. Service was excellent and the breakfast was excellent. Very close to the cruise terminal.
