My view is that there are a few areas of improvement Food quality : I think the breakfast spread is very limited and the quality is extremely low. I hope the management can charge some incremental money and improve the quality of food. Overall the food options needs to be bolstered a bit for room dining as well. Having travelled to many countries and having stayed in the best of 5 star hotels to boutique hotels, this is the only hotel where I saw stale fruits being served on multiple days. That’s just simply not acceptable Quality of rooms: needs some refurbishment, looks a bit dated, door safety latch was broken, curtains seem to have some kinda mold in them. On a couple of ocassions in the pool area, they ran out of towels. Staff: staff was helpful and did their job well This feedback is for the people who are in the management roles so that they can look into these areas. Overall I would rate this property as a 3.5-4 star at best and if simply put it has a quite a few yards to cover before it can truly be considered as a 5 star property.

Staff counter was awesome and went all the way to help me with the early check in so that my 5 yr old can take her nap as she was getting very cranky.

Is not what I have expected - especially during breakfast, kids carry drinks around and wet the floor which is dangerous for elderly - but no one clean up. Limited breakfast choices. Not many taxi available as we got to wait for like 8-20 mins to grab a cab.

Service far superior to any other hotel. Great facilities for kids, by far the best in Penang. Rooms where a bit in need of renovation

The place is clean and kids friendly

This was my second stay at the HRP the first being excellent, but this time around we were disappointed in our room. The bedding had a damp feel to it which was quickly changed by staff. However the room in general felt and smelt damp. May be the hotel is suffering from water damage. Must say it was totally the opposite to our stay 6 months earlier in a different part of the hotel. Hotel is undergoing renovation to entrance foyer which is looking fantastic. Staff are amazing just disappointed in the musky damp condition of the room.

We will definitely come back here. The hotel has everything- waterpark, swimming pool, resto, cafe and bar. The beach is just outside the gate and there’s a lot of water sports. What we don’t like was the noise due to ongoing renovation. But overall, we had fun specially my 11 year- old son.

Extensive Construction work early mornings and at night was very messy and no lobby/foyer to relax in and only one working bar ( by the pool). The pool and rooms were nice.

Helpful staff and service… will definitely come back to the resort

This is my 4th visit to penang and 3rd time staying at hard rock. My whole family really enjoyed staying there and I'm quite sure we will come back again. The staff were very helpful. There's one particular staff I forgot her name, she very helpful on the 1st day I reach. I check in on 12 jun 2023.

Swimming pool

I booked a sea view room. But surprisingly it face the swimming pool as well. And the music is so loud since 9am. Kids shouting, perhaps the sound acoustic could be better. Breakfast department is utterly disappointing. Staffs are no manner, rude, no mask, dirty, choices are limited. Room is acceptable, the build in heater is not functioning well. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold. After all not worth the price.

Loved the room and area around. Walking distance to a wonderful view of the sea. Walking distance to shops. Had super good time with Hotel's live band show and also in the Cafe. There is bus top just outside the hotel. Very convenient to go anywhere around Penang. Just RM2.70 to go town. Breakfast was nice with hot beverages. Came with my husband. Will definitely plan a trip here again with my kids. Wonderful place to be especially if you have young/teenage kids.
