Went for a bachelor weekend. And the property was amazing plenty of activities to keep busy during bad weather. Plus everything you could think of was included. Deb was an amazing host. Couple that with amazing wifi and water pressure which are usually the things you sacrifice with a mountain house. Pretty close to things without being right on top of them making it a quiet and peaceful stay.

Amazing property, house and decorations! We loved everything about the house, so many things to do and so warm and cozy. We definitely want to come back and make more family memories.

This exceeded our expectations for our stay. Not only was it clean, comfortable, and enough room for 12 to earn 5 stars, the property owner went above and beyond. The Christmas decor was incredible, the kitchen had more than you would expect for a rental, and the house was stocked with everything. I wouldn’t hesitant to stay here again. In fact, I’d go out of my way to stay here again.

Ive stayed at several rental properties in the area. This place is the best ive stayed at. Everything was provided. The host was great and communicated well. There were 5 in my party and we had an individual bed for each person...with room for more. There was so much to do on the property we opted to stay in, rather than go out. We would definitely stay again.

The stay was amazing and one of the best we have ever had! The hosts thought of everything and more. Beautiful home, location, stocked kitchen, games, comfortable beds, blankets, TVs, the pond… wow! Will definitely be coming back!

Spent a long weekend at Twin Ponds Retreat and it was perfect! Very quiet and exceptionally clean. We spent time fishing the pond where we caught 15-20 bass, played two great golf courses (Sequoia National was beautiful), and going to Harrah’s. The location is perfect and not too far from all of the surrounding activities. The host was also very welcoming and answered any and all questions I had in an extremely timely manner. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a convenient home base to all that Cherokee and the surrounding areas have to offer!

This is the easiest and most accurate rental that we have booked thus far and we have been to many rentals upon arrival it was exactly what we had expected and hoped for the owners really do go above and beyond to put extra special touches to make you feel right at home well done we love it and we will be back

If you’re looking for a place to stay near Whittier, NC and like myself, you have only one important requirement for where you lay your head at night - that’s right, I’m talking about Egyptian cotton luxury bath robes - then look no further. Many people refer to the Twin Ponds Retreat as the “Ritz-Carlton of the Smoky Mountains.” And considering the closest Ritz is 150 miles away in Atlanta, you’d be looking at one heck of a commute to explore all of the exciting adventures that the mountains have to offer. Oh and good luck trying to fit you, your 10 closest friends, and your weird uncle Andy, all into one reservation at the Ritz. Twin Ponds was incredibly clean, offered all of the kitchen amenities needed to satisfy Gordon Ramsay, and had plenty of games and activities to escape to for when Gordon blows his lid. Also, the amount of extra pillows, bed sheets, and towels provided could have probably stocked the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina blew through the South in 2005. And did I mention the bath robes!? Honestly, the best stay we’ve had in the area, after years of coming to Whittier to raft the Tuckaseegee - and we were only 5 minutes from the river!

Took the kids and grand kids to have some quality family time. Looking at the pictures off site,I knew it was a nice place. But the pictures didn't do it justice. The home was beautiful, welcoming and relaxing. The home was stocked with everything you could imagine you'd need and more. The game room was well used by us all. The grands also had a blast fishing in the lake and using the Hot tub. I loved the big front porch over looking the lake and listening to the bullfrogs and Whippoorwill's talk & sing to us. It was so calming and relaxing. I can't wait to return. The owners were so kind and welcoming from time of booking to leaving property. They truly made me feel welcomed and that they wanted us to enjoy ourselves and have a great time. I highly recommend this property for relaxation and quality family time. We will be returning.

Stayed here with 5 other friends and family members and had a great time! The property was beautifully maintained and there were so many things to entertain ourselves with at the house, as well as close proximity to great fly fishing and the casino in Cherokee. Definitely would stay here again!

If you’re looking for a place to get away and unwind, this is the place! The house was clean, and the owners provided so many personal touches — got cocoa/coffee bar (with local roast coffee), s’mores basket, soaps/shampoos in the bathrooms, and more. Before arriving, the owner reached out several times with helpful info about the property and surrounding area. They have an awesome game room that kept the kids entertained, a beautiful pond for fishing, hot tub, a fabulous front porch overlooking the pond (which was a great place to sit for morning coffee or evening chatter). We made so many great memories, and we will definitely stay again in the future!

From the booking to checking out, the entire process couldn't have been made any easier. Booking through Red Awning was the easiest I've done in nearly 40 years of vacationing. Their communications and feedback were top notch. We just needed the code to get in the door and the property manager was on the job before we were ready to go. Deb is a communications wiz and has all the info you need to have a wonderful stay. The residence was as clean as can be, decorated with the Christmas spirit and stocked with all the amenities needed to make us feel like we were right at home. A kitchen ready to prepare any meal we desired. Coffees and ciders ready for brewing. Televisions all around for personal viewing but we enjoyed watching together reclining in every seat there is during our down time. The beds were all comfortable for a well rested sleep getting us ready for the days ahead. The residence is just a mile from the highway but you'll feel like you're secluded well off the beaten path. Low light pollution creates even more of a privacy feeling at night. And the hot tub is perfect for relaxing and enjoying each other's company over a drink or two. You'll find all you need for supplies just a few miles away. Go and walk the streets of Sylva and enjoy your day shopping, eating and/or relaxing in a local brew house. Wonderful stay!

The property was amazing and beautifully decorated for the season! We loved all the amenities. The hosts were so thoughtful leaving local snacks, a personalized welcome letter and having items throughout the house to make our stay as easy as possible (robes for the hot tub, cell phone charger, toiletries, etc.). The internet was a bit spotty, but that is to be expected being that we were in the mountains. The views really were amazing! We would definitely return!

The experience was extremely pleasurable for me and my family. We would have had fun just with us and our friends, but what we didn’t realize is that the house and stay would make it even better. The comfortable, homely, and slightly competitive atmosphere was a very much needed change that we all needed after 3 long months. Thank you so much for this lovely little house!
