Enjoyed the view, hot tub and the wild life

Check in process was extremely easy. The house was exceptionally clean. The owner was quick to respond to questions. When we arrived it was quite warm in the house and they quickly installed window units the next day. I would suggest a few extra pillows and blankets since it did get chilly while we were there. Owner gave us very good driving directions from the airport in Rapid City. We visited Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devils Tower, crazy horse monument, and the Badlands… Everything was about an hour to an hour and a half away in multiple directions. We got to see a lot. The house was very well-equipped, and very serene. The hot tub was a bonus and a great place to enjoy the evening to stargaze from. The fact that it was pet free was very appreciated, and hard to find nowadays… Two of us are highly allergic to cats and dogs, so this was fantastic! Thank you! Highly recommend.

Cabin is right in the middle of everything.

We had an amazing time at the ShadyPines cabin. It was the cleanest house we’ve ever rented! The location was perfect for all of the sight seeing - just a short 20-30 minute drive for pretty much anything you wanted to do. The owner was prompt and friendly. We would definitely go back!

We enjoyed a six day, five night stay in Shady Pines. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. We spent our days exploring the tourist attractions the Hills have to offer and the evenings as a family grilling supper, playing games and relaxing in the hot tub at the cabin. As a set of grandparents and a family of four with two children aged 3 and 11, the multi level sleeping areas suited us well. If you are looking for a cabin retreat a little off the beaten path this is your choice, it was about a 35-40 minute drive into Hill City or Keystone after navigating the scenic winding roads. We had an ATV and there were trails close by to enjoy. Very tentative owner who quickly responded to messages. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later!!

Beautiful property and great location.

Great property centrally located for access to the Northern & Southern Black Hills as well as the Badlands. Very modern and clean property and well appointed; nothing we couldn’t find or need. A bit off the main highways but gravel roads and driveway were well marked and maintained. The setting in the pines was quite picturesque.

The home was very nice, clean and spacious. If you are looking for a very quiet wooded area, this is the perfect place for you. My boys got back to basics playing cards and boards games. My husband did struggle with no cell service and weak/ spotty wifi when he needed to check in at work. If you're looking to unplug and sit outside and have your morning coffee with the deer, hummingbirds and cows - this is the right place for you!

Stayed with my wife and 4 daughters. Everybody loved the house and hot tub. Board game shelf is a nice touch and was used almost every night.

We loved every single part of our stay at Shady Pines. Direct access to all the ATV/UTV trails, plus close to all the major attractions. For our group of 7, there was plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy our time. The property is gorgeous, plus has everything you'll need for your stay in the Black Hills. Aaron was attentive and responsive, even offering alternative dates for our family after the death of a family member. Our experience went above and beyond. Thank you, Shady Pines, for an incredible vacation to the Black Hills.

We had a great time staying at Shady Pines! It was beautiful, clean and comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked. The location is quite far from the main road but has easy directions to get to. The one downfall was it was quite a climb to get to the cabin from the parking area for an elderly person. You can enter through the basement but have to be able to do steps. But it was a wonderful stay!!

This cozy cabin was filled with charm and relaxing activities. Highly recommend and we will stay again.

Overall it was a good experience for all of us.

This was a wonderful getaway for our family. The house is beautiful and immaculate, with all the comforts you need to enjoy the quiet location in the hills. We appreciated the limited WiFi, which allowed us to truly get away.

My sister and I enjoyed the property very much. The home was clean and stunning, quality decor and furnishings, the beds were especially comfortable. Aaron responded quickly to any questions we had. A small, minor issue we had was that we could not get the door wall open that leads to the hot tub, no problem though, we walked around the corner of the house to get to it. Loved everything about this property!!

We had a wonderful stay in Silver City Aaron would’ve been easily reached had we needed anything. However, we didn’t need to bother him during our stay. Everything was beautifully laid out with a binder of information & plenty of supplies. All you really need to bring are your personal items & food! The only thing that differed is there are no bunk beds as pictured. We saw deer & wild turkeys one morning & at night could hear some wildlife, as well. The house is off the beaten path a bit but we had no troubles getting to it, the view both during the day & night were amazing!!!

Very clean property, Perfect for our group (4 adults, 2 pre-teens). Rustic decor, beautiful deck to enjoy the peaceful mornings in the woods. 10 minute drive to the highway, some gravel roads, but no issues. Located 45 minutes or so from all the Black Hills attractions. Eat at Sugar Shack for burgers - nothing fancy however great burgers! Thanks Aaron for a great stay!

Shady Pines is a great place to get away and enjoy the beautiful Black Hills. The cabin is centrally located to many of the attractions in the Hills but also fairly secluded. The condition of the cabin did not disappoint as it was nicely furnished and very clean. Thank you for many great memories!

Very nice property. Our family enjoyed the roominess and it was very clean! We especially enjoyed Pactola Lake just down the road.

This was a great cabin for our family. The only thing I would suggest is to have the WIFI password in the binder with information about the cabin. When you get there, you will likely have no service to look up the WIFI password on your email, so it would be nice to have that at the cabin. Otherwise, I have no complaints! The location up a very steep hill. So beware of that- it is very scenic though, on the way to the cabin one evening we got to see a huge female elk! The place is exactly as pictured/advertised. Aaron was very responsive and helpful. We loved the campfire ring outside, the hot tub, the beautiful deck, and the family room in the basement. It was also so nice to have a washer and dryer with plenty of laundry detergent so we didn't have to go home and do a bunch of laundry! The cabin is well equipped with everything you could need, and we will very likely be back. Thank you Aaron!

Peaceful, animals in the yard in the morning and night!

I’ve stayed at quite a few cabins in the Hills area, and this is one of the nicer properties we’ve stayed at. Owner was good to work with and I would recommend this cabin.

We had a great time! We were looking for a relaxing getaway and it was perfect. The kids loved the location in the woods and the hot tub! The owner responded right away to a few questions we had. Will definitely stay here again!

The drive over the mountains was beautiful. The home is decorated with rustic charm. Comfortable beds, large bathrooms. The 3 grandkids used all the living areas, which the adults appreciated. We felt covid safe with your cleaners. Aaron responded to all my questions, including extra blankets for 2 cribs and sleds for all. My 3 and both 2 year old grankids were sad to leave. We left you a couple snowmen. Would recommend this home for family vacations.

This house is amazing! It has everything you could possibly need. I loved the beautiful drive through the forest to get to the house. We saw deer every day. It was a great location. Close to all of the attractions! We enjoyed viewing the stars at night from the large hot tub. The beds were extremely comfortable. I will recommend this home to my friends and we hope to stay there again soon!

Our family arrived together at Aaron's property and everything was in great condition. The rooms were clean and the instructions were laid out upon entry. The kitchen was found as described with appliances and all the utensils. Outside the home we enjoyed having the hot tub for the cooler evenings and the wraparound deck for breakfast and dinner. We came during Covid-19 and it was great to get away from the noise of bad news. The checkout was easy and would definitely vacation here again.

This cabin is stunning inside and out!! It’s location is ideal for exploring all the great things South Dakota has to offer. My family and I had an absolutely fabulous time here relaxing and enjoying the mountain air!
