Our stay was very pleasant. The property was unique, very clean, and as advertised. I would recommend getting there before dark for the first night. The directions are accurate but still a little tough to navigate in the dark.

Fred and Jan were very friendly but respectfully left us to enjoy their area. The cottage was quaint/cozy and very clean. It reminded me of a cottage you would stay at in the Caribbean. We were able to dive off of the dock to swim in the clear water but wished that there was a ladder for easier exit out of the lake. (There is currently a sloping concrete ramp near the dock that was a bit of a struggle to navigate). The deck is in a great location looking west across the lake for spectacular sunsets. It’s definitely showing signs of age/weathered. Overall we had a enjoyable stay!

So cute! Great access to a beautiful lake. The owners made available kayaks, a paddle boat, and floatable lounge chairs, which were all so lovely. Although we didn't actually see or meet the owners, we felt totally accommodated/attended to, yet felt like we had the place to ourselves! A wonderful experience at a beautiful location -- we will definitely be back!! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with us! 😊

We enjoyed that the property was secluded and right on the water. We were short drive away from all the fun!

The add makes it seem as though the unit is literally on the water with a dock attached and secluded. However the unit is actually in the middle of a circular driveway for the owners private residence and is almost 30 yards from the water and only 20 feet from the front door of two other houses. The dock is attached to the private residence which you have to sneak around to get to. If you're looking for a secluded, private getaway this probably isnt what you're looking for. NO REFUND EVEN IF YOU DONT USE THE PROPERTY. However, it's great for people who are simply looking for a unique place close to overcrowded water. I've had better customer service.

The guest house was very clean & comfortable. Jan & Fred were very accommodating. The view from the dock was amazing. Very happy with my experience.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Sunsets on the lake were beautiful. The hosts were helpful and respectful. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy and clean cabin in a peaceful location. It was a very enjoyable stay.

When my wife and I where looking for a quick get away, these seemed to fit the bill. The cabin was cozy and really unique abd cute design. The view of the sunset from the dock blew me away each night. Easy access to the lake and a short drive from all that lake Winnipesaukee has to offer. 10/10Great place for a quick couples get away. The hosts are fantastic, kind, and responsive.

What a wonderful and special place the Octagon Cottage is! The location is great right on Sunset Lake about 5 miles from Lake Winnepesaukee and a much quieter location. The dock is perfect any time of day to watch the water and boats/kayaks go by. The sunsets were really beautiful with the mountains there too. It was too chilly to swim while I was there but the water is very clear. Jan and Fred couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. There were kayaks to use and plenty of beautiful trails and bike rides right out the door. The king size bed was really comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed for cooking. The outdoor stairs to access the lower level or upper level was fine since the weather was good and they did have umbrellas handy in case of rain. I do hope to return next summer to enjoy the beautiful lake and reconnect with Jan and Fred to hear more amazing stories of their adventures.
