Big room view over the habour.

Chose this Holiday Inn as it was near le Shuttle. It said on the website you had to check in before 10pm but this was not correct. I could not get through either on the phone or by message to verify this. The room had been cleaned but desperately in need of refurbishment. It was also on 2 floors which was really strange. Would not choose this option again.

Hotel is in a good location, but it has a huge issue. Rooms in the top floor suffer from a persistent loud humming, banging and vibration from the air conditioning system on the roof… all night! We stayed either end of our holiday and in both rooms we had the same problem. The old air conditioning system clearly needs replacing, if you are allocated rooms 506 or 507 ask to be moved immediately!

Very good service. Had a slight issue on check in as advised room hadn’t been paid for, paid so not to cause a fuss. Went to room checked emails for receipt and the gentleman on reception apologised and refunded immediately. He dealt with the problem efficiently, he was polite and very helpful. The hotel was perfect for our needs and we will definitely use it again in the near future.

Room was not well cleaned. Very dusty behind door. No secure parking as right on boardwalk. Adequate for a one night stay.

Serviceable room in a good location for channel crossings. The rooms are a bit tired and shabby but the staff are excellent.

Disappointed they no longer do evening meals here. We had a fire alarm go off and no direction from staff or checking we were ok. Overall a good stay but not as good as previous times we have stayed here.

The area aroundd the hotel had a lot of dining options in walking distance. The room was big and everything was really big. The only problem was the A/C controller was broken so even though we turned it on, it was working very well.

Everything very good except air-con useless so room was very hot - especially in July. Lovely family room, good buffet breakfast, helpful staff and great location (round corner from Place d'Armes & short walk to beach).

We’ve stayed here many times over the years. We like its proximity to the car ferry, the free on-street parking and the good bars and restaurants just around the corner. It’s always been good value for money. However, the recent renovation has been of poor quality. The last couple of times we’ve stayed, the rooms have been quite shabby and the prices seem to have gone up considerably. We’re unlikely to stay there again.

The staff were friendly. But, the hotel is very dated. Definitely in need of renovations.

The hotel would have been great if it wasn’t for our room smelling as if someone had been smoking in it recently.
Let staff know but unfortunately the place was booked so they could not accommodate us in a new room. They did give us a air freshener to use, this did not fix the problem however, just poorly mask it.

Asked for sea view with balcony many weeks before and got a noisy city view with football bar noise.
Toilet flush almost continuously and air con extremely poor so having windows shut because of noise meant very hot uncomfortably in room. On check out lift out of action!!

Lovely clean room, very comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom with loads of Dove toiletries. Kettle and fridge. We had a great view of the marina. Will definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Staff very indifferent. No greeting on arrival or departure. Lift floor stained and grubby.
Breakfast tables left uncleared when people had finished . Air con control cover missing on wall in room and wires exposed which was a bit unnerving.

We have stayed here many times and always found it to be a great location with easy parking. The upgraded rooms are excellent - could do with more towels if 4 people in room though! This time the team situation seemed a little odd? Not as welcoming and experienced as previous visits, a bit disorganised. The bar experience could also be improved as the lights are always off in the seating area so you don't know whether it is ok to sit or not! We will re-visit based on previous stays and location - there is a fantastic choice of restaurants nearby

Booked this hotel as most others were full. Very dated exterior, bedrooms and bathrooms (reception and breakfast area modernised). Room had obviously been a smoking room previously and still smelt of smoke. Breakfast good. Best avoided

For a dated hotel I feel the staff do an excellent job in difficult circumstances. In the two rooms we had, both toilets failed to flush properly.
It’s a one night, if you need to, certainly not a Holiday Inn.

The hotel advertising parking. However, this is not the case, parking is on the public street. We had a van full of camping / bikes equipment, so it was a worry all evening.
The hotel was loud, you could hear the gentleman having a wee in the room above our heads, poor soundproofing. Lots of doors slamming through the evening. This hotel felt like the cheapest type of budget hotel, not what you would expect from a Holiday Inn.

Conveniently located following a long drive as it’s close to the ports and tunnel, however a very dated interior that desperately requires a refurb. A basic breakfast offering. Overall was over-priced for such a budget hotel.
Staff were friendly and helpful, especially late at night on arrival.
Parking is on the main road which didn’t feel secure or safe.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They even offered a closed garage for parking my motorcycle.
Calais itself, however, looks like a city in decline. Old, badly maintained buildings and a not very overall safe feeling.

It’s a basic hotel chain but all the staff I came into contact with were friendly knowledgeable (I asked for recommendations on places to eat) kind to my children and generally a really good bunch.
Holiday inn have got a great team working there.
