I stayed here for an emergency night, needed a place to sleep. Wen I arrived late night to check in , the front desk had to charge me for another room and told me to speak with the manger in the morning. When I woke up and tried to, manager was out. I have been calling weekly manager never there and never returns my messages. Poor customer service.

Condition of hotel was bad. The bed did appear clean and was comfy we did sleep well but otherwise everything was a little gross. Breakfast was ok your average fair. The staff were indifferent I spent an unfair amount of time waiting for someone to appear from the back to check in and they had a phone glued to their ear the whole time. To sum up if you just need somewhere to sleep go for it but check out your options first,

The place is very outdated but the staff is so nice and the pool and hot tub were nice and very well kept, some of the rooms don’t get Wi-Fi and some of the rooms stink really bad like mold and cigarette smoke. I have bad allergies. The first room was a big no-no. I had to go and have them change it only to get to the second room and see that they had no Internet, and that would not have worked for me because I had a lot of work to do on my computer , The third room the toilet didn’t flush appropriately. You had to hold it down and it flushed. I just didn’t want to change rooms for the fourth time. I guess it was the manager when I went to check out I had my dog with me mind you they let animals come to the hotel the manager seems so triggered by her being in the lobby, he was talking smack to me. Why allow people to bring your pets if you’re gonna make them feel unwelcome , the beds are so that you can feel the springs And the TV is a dinosaur . The telephone is so old it’s actually discolored. I mean, they should just list it as a cheap motel to be honest and the worst part is the set up of the hotel rooms are in the basement and some rooms are upstairs. I had an anxiety attack. The lady didn’t tell me how to get out of the building

Rooms are very outdated . Sheets have too many stains

The only issue I had was another guest stole my door dash food delivery. The front desk manager, Megan I believe, was diligent and reviewed the security footage and called the guest out, my food was returned(thankfully unopened)

Just stopped in on a whim to take a break from our drive, which was all traffic. Great staff, easy checking, has everything you need...clean and comfortable just a little outdated.

Front desk person was so kind at check in

Toilet didn't flush,blow dryer didn't work. Terrible water pressure. Checkout staff was rude. Honestly, we refer to this place as a dump. Stay hete only if everything else is booked.

There is a reason that there is no refunds after booking your stay. When you show up it is immediately obvious that you are getting a roof over your head and nothing else.

I paid way too much for the room that I rented. The AC did not reach the whole room!! Bad experience will not rent from there again

Nice quiet stay

Manager was very helpful and accommodating. She made sure we knew how to use the hot tub and provided us pool towels. She checked on us multiple times to make sure we didn’t need anything. Breakfast was fresh and bed was comfy! Plan on this being my go to spot for a toddler friendly pool.

It was okay the tv didn’t work despite us asking them to fix it multiple times , the toilet didn’t flush well so we use our ice bucket to catch water to flush it , bending machines were not working with no other way to get snacks , and the steps had cobwebs like it hadn’t been clean in months, our room had a funny smell . I am happy to know it was only 1 night I couldn’t have stayed any longer

We had to be changed to 4 different rooms as each room had various equipment that did not work. Our final room had a problem with the bathroom light dimming & blinking. None of the phones in the rooms worked so you had to walk down to the front desk for any assistance needed We stayed for 3 nights. The room seem to be pretty clean The staff were very friendly and helped the best they could, but they did not have a maintenance crew on duty in the evening to fix any of the problems in the rooms

We had to switch rooms 3 times for various reasons. All 3 rooms had problems where things weren’t working. The rooms look like they have never been maintained. Locks broken. TVs broken. The air conditioner broken

The beds are horrible. You can feel the coils. Was like sleeping on a board. Just an old facility. Nothing special at all.

Property needs updating

Our room had no internet! It was toward the back of the building and it's as if the connection stopped at a certain point. When I was walking towards the lobby, I could see the internet connect at a certain point but once I got close to my room and in my room it was completely gone. I even did the wifi123.org on the little triangle in the room and that didn't work and I called the phone number and was hung up on. I just did work in the lobby which was inconvenient. The first lady I told made me seem like I was crazy because she said no one else had complained. But I couldn't even watch netflix or any other app because no connection lol! The guy in the morning was nice enough to ask if we wanted to change rooms but that was even more inconvenient but very kind of him to offer. I just sucked it up since we were leaving the next morning. And the other thing was the shower. You have to hold it down to drain in!!!! OMG How incredibly inconvenient. Needless to say, I only took one shower and used the sink to wash up the next day. Other than that, it was a clean and pleasant room and there was a balcony!! Oh my I cannot recall the last time I had a balcony in a hotel room!

Room space

This place was the most disgusting health hazard I have seen offered for let( At $150 per night). The condition of this hotel is inexcusable. There were 15 other people in the lobby complaining aside from me. They literally told me they would do nothing for me, and to contact expedia, which took 5 hours to reach a person in India, who was not helpful. I slept in my car before attending the funeral I had traveled to attend. Never do business with this 3rd party scam, and NEVER, NEVER stay at the Clarion in Hamden CT.

The air conditioner was turned off when we arrived. It made the room smell musty, smokey and stale which was poor initial impression. It seemed difficult to get information or find a place for dinner that had parking. Once we got the air conditioning turned on it wás difficult to get the room comfortable so we were cold allnight. The tub was unsafe because there was no anti slip mat just some texture on the tub. It was an uncomfortable stay.

Booked this room for a short stopover to our destination in NYC. Our room was dirty and had leftover nachos in the fridge from the previous occupant. We asked to transfer to another room and that one smelled heavily of smoke. Would not recommend and will avoid Clarion properties from now on.

If I could rate this stay 0 stars I would. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many! We had a pet so we had no choice of rooms. There was no carpet, just warped fake wood flooring. The pillows were like rocks. The AC was noisy. The bathroom had a terrible toilet. The type you would find in a very bad public restroom, like in a gas station! The walls in the bathroom were either rusty, moldy or dirty. It was hard to tell. The worst, however, was not discovered until the morning when we went to take showers. There was no water to the shower/bathtub. Horrible way to start the day.

Pricing was a bit too high

Where do I begin? This place is a renamed, not-renovated Howard Johnson’s. The place was filthy. Elevator was broken. Staff was rude (accused us THREE times of stealing their luggage cart). Wifi didn’t work. Netflix didn’t work. Just skip unless you have no other choice. Zero stars. Do not recommend. On the upside they didn’t give us a hard time when we checked out early.

The heavy doors slam when you close them. Early departures from the hotel rooms caused a loud noise from the slamming doors.
