Staying at the castle was a unique experience. We especially loved the gardens and the fact that so much of the food served was grown right there. Highly recommend Thornbury Castle!

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are lovely, the staff is so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are exquisite, comfortable and beautiful. The food and drinks were superb. This castle was really well preserved and restored.

Just a great place to relax! Staff was fantastic.

We paid almost $1000 for 2 nights and received a very small room with small bathroom and no counter space. The room was pretty but still very small. There was a bug in the bathroom once. The worst was that it was extremely hot in the room to the point we could not sleep and were sweating in the room. It was over 80 F in the room. We spoke to hotel staff who were polite but did not do anything nor offer any partial refund. Hotels.com also did nothing. Luxury price but not a luxury experience at all

Very good place to go with Family

This place is amazing! We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights in May. We were given a conplimentary room upgrade because we were celebrating a special occasion, and we were able to add an extra night into our stay abd stay in the same room. We absolutely fell in love with the place. We were only supposed to stay for 3 nights, but added on an extra night and the staff kindly arranged it so that we could stay in the same room. The rooms are absolutely huge! We stayed in a superior deluxe room and it was 45msq! The room was beautifully and elegantly decorated and the bathroom had both a shower and a bath, plus his and hers sinks. The hotel and grounds are stunning and well looked after. The staff are professional and polite. This place is perfect for a romantic stay for couples. Not much to do in the immediate surrounding areas, apart from some country walking. However, the place is less than an hours drive from both Bath and Bristol. My only one fault from the entire stay is that the room didnt have a coffee machine. I think thats a must in 2024. I'd definitely stay here again. Keen to stay in the Henry VIII suite!

It’s a wonderful experience!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The grounds and the rooms were so beautiful and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We got engaged here and it was so special I can't imagine it happening at a more beautiful place. Thornbury holds such a special place in our hearts now and I'm so grateful it happened there. Thank you to everyone at Thornbury who made our day and our stay so special!

Beautiful, historical and elegant

A wonderful stay in the King Henry VIII suite where modern conveniences melded with historical value. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, gardens, and a church that is adjacent to the castle. Our evening was finished with a delightful dinner in the castle.

Charming and magical atmosphere in this very well preserved Tudor castle. The perfect stay to go back in time and feel like a king or a queen for a day.

The service in this hotel is 100%. A beautiful, clean and historic environment. Fabulous and tasteful. The food was incredible too.

This was the most exquisite place we have ever stayed in. Everything was picture book perfect- and we were treated like royalty! Be sure to go into the castle garden and smell the rose named “Golden Celebration.” It has the best scent ever and was a fitting reminder of our golden anniversary! We highly recommend the history tour for an even richer experience!
