Very clean and comfortable and great breakfast spread

Our stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Des Moines West Clive was excellent. It was spotless, updated, and great customer service upon check-in and if we had any questions. The attendant (I think the manager) was very friendly. I would highly recommend staying here.

Hotel room was ok except for spotty Wi-Fi in the room and lounge. Had to go to nearby public library to access reliable internet connection.

Hotel manager was friendly, helpful and responsive. I had concerns about being in the room directly across from the elevator (noise from ppl talking and 'ding' when elevator arrived on the floor) and she was able to move us to another room. Hotel was very busy and full of inconsiderate guests. Many kids in pool area running & jumping into pool & hot tub, parents were present but more interested in watching game on TV in patio area, drinking and eating pizza. Easy access to HWY, but little hwy noise.

We really enjoy the breakfast. Not overly fancy, but what should be hot us and what should be cold is cold. The staff last year was much more interactive and fun to be around, this year they were professional, but didn't interact much. Some guests may like that arrangement, but we did enjoy them. We do plan on staying again...unless they stop serving breakfast.

The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms and hotel was clean. The only downsides were that the patio closed at 11, and most of the items for the continental breakfast were out. The staff was friendly however.

The hotel staff do not check ID’s and let people check into other peoples rooms. The cleaning staff cannot read the signs on the doors and will come into your room even if your sign says do not disturb. The front desk staff is the one who informed us of that. The staff will get attitudes and argue with customers when simply asking a question about something that was left behind.

We had two devices and could never connect to internet with either one.

A good location for a quick stay on a long road trip. Breakfast is wonderful. It is pet friendly, which was perfect for me.

My kids and I were traveling through and had to make a last minute late night stop. I chose this hotel based on the pictures on Hotel.com and the fact that it was a smoke free facility. When i checked in, the lobby was chaotically occupied by a group of people being extremely loud. Once we made it up to the room we were blasted in the face by a horrific smoke smell. it consumed the room. my kids were on the verge of throwing up it was so strong. i went downstairs to ask for a change of rooms and was told that they were sold out and thats all they had but assured me it was a smoke free hotel. i kindly asked the front clerk to walk up to the room with me and he was alarmed at the smell. the best he was able to do was give me a can of lysol to help with the smell. had it not been midnight at this point after driving 14 hrs i would have up and left. i was stunned i wasnt offered a discount for the horrible stay. the room was not very clean. again, pictures online did not show the true identity of this hotel. Beware!

Stayed for one night, perfect location and good value. Breakfast above average for a hotel. Room was spacious and clean, bed was just ok. Would stay again for a quick trip!

The facility was very clean, fresh and up to date. They have the best waffles! Great stay!

It was a nice comfortable stay.

The hotel was easily accessible from I80-I35. Check in was a snap. Breakfast was all that I had hoped for. Nice pool and spa. We will stay there in the future. Happy here.

We have stayed at this Hotel numerous times throughout the last 8 years and each time has been great compared to other Hotels in the area. We appreciate everything that has been done in updating the facility and would recommend it to friends and family if they are in that area.

Stayed here before when in Des Moines for a family reunion, and we look forward to the stay here as much as the reunion.

Great room, clean and comfy. Breakfast was good. Maria was friendly and very pleasant when we checked In. All in all, we were very happy with everything.

The hotel did not have the “Expedia” reservation in their system…. I made the reservation 5 hours before I arrived at the front desk. We had to call Expedia customer service and they had to talk to the front desk. This took over 30 minutes at midnight. I want a $200 credit for this.

Very noisy, could hear full conversations from rooms when walking down the hall and vice versa. The staff were great however and the pool was tidy and clean.

It was the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel and I have stayed in hotels for over 45 years.
