Very cute and comfortable individual cabin, private and quiet, well-furnished, perfect!

This place was amazing! The view was amazing and I could sit on a balcony and view the water!

We can’t wait to stay again! Cookies and hot cider when we arrived. Colonial Gables is a hidden gem. We stayed in the cutest little cabin right on the bay with a million dollar view. The cabin was clean and bright. The whole property is very well maintained. The staff is super pleasant and helpful. The only complaint is we only booked one night.

Couldn’t have been more perfect! We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Super clean and the property is well managed. Our porch or the private beach was wonderful to watch the sun come up!

quick check-in. spotless room. nice deck in back facing the ocean. lots of room to walk the dog or play horseshoes.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. My wife loved the room decor. Was great to have a little patio with a view to the beautiful bay. Our only concern was Hotels.com said it was only 8.8 miles from Castine. False! We are not interested in miles "as the crow flies". Check the map closely. It cost us a lot of extra driving time.

Great place overlooking ocean

A quick one night stay. Nice location on the ocean. Nice property. In need of a detailed cleaning, but not filthy. We would stay again. The fastest check-in ever. Like 5 seconds.

I traveled to the area to hike local, sea-side trails. The motel is a little more than an hour drive from Acadia National Park. The motels rates were much more reasonable than those closer of establishments closer to Bar Harbor and the park. When considering the cleanliness, comfort, and quiet of the motel, it was an absolute bargain. It is staffed by the most cordial, attentive and helpful folks that you could hope to encounter. Two thumbs up and a smile.

The place had a very strong deodorizing smell as if they were covering up another smell. The place was older but looked like it had been recently renovated and was clean. The bed was too soft for our backs. The bathroom was nice but too small (as was the room) with no vanity. The view of the water was lovely and there was a big veranda out back and there were nice grounds outside. The management were friendly. The road going past at the front was busy. We missed not having a breakfast served at the price charged.

I had alot of trouble sleeping. The refrigerator was very loud.

Clean room, efficient check in, great location on a nice beach. Only complaints were overly powerful smell of air fragrance in the room which required leaving the windows open for a couple of hours. And I never imagined I would say this but the water pressure in the shower was far too powerful it hurt.

Fast friendly check in. Too dark to see view at check in but our room has a deck out back door to sit on. Enjoying some time they’re smelling the ocean and listening to buoys far out to sea. Lovely room.

Excellent cabin- spacious, clean, with modern appliances, nice cable tv and WiFi. Very comfortable.

I didn't realize the cottage I booked was right on the water! It was a pleasant surprise. Some cottages are right on the beach and others are farther away from the water. I would check before booking...you can't beat waking up to the ocean right at your door. The cottage was clean and appeared newly renovated. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing like the pictures. No sand beach. Did not get the unit as described. The unit we stayed in was outdated, could not even sit on furniture outside due to rough condition, mold in the bathroom on ceiling and around tub for main bedroom. Called and verified type of cottage being newly renovated just inter bedroom for two and that it had a washer and dryer. We were given an outdated, dirty cottage that slept 8 with no washer and dryer. No real beach to speak of and what there was, was dirty and unusable. For a unit that slept 8 there was 1 bowl, utensils and what if any kitchen items were rusted, dirty and needing washed, floors sink as you walked on them, blonde hair on pillows and I’m a dark brunette. Not happy and would not recommend.

Great location and super cute property. Could use some work in the hotel part. Floors uneven and clean bathrooms but you can tell outdated parts. The mattress was absolutely horrible. Spring mattress probably 30 years old. The private beach and easy location were huge plus. Just next time if I want to pay for somewhere to sleep, I’d like to sleep

Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was clean and comfortable. The area was beautiful, conveniently located, it was perfect for our trip to the Lobster Festival, met all our needs.
