Not what I remember from past stays over the years.

Our stay was a disaster. We went to Eureka, Ca for a Jazz convention. We missed most of the first day trying to get a different room. Our room had no hot water and the sinks backed-up with brown ugly water. We notified the desk clerk at 8:00 am, he said we will have a room by noon. When we returned at 1:00 pm, a new desk clerk, did not know anything about our room problems. He said he would call us in a hour. He never did call us. We went back down and talked to another desk clerk. He name was Connie. She was finally helpful and got us a room quickly. She was good, but we did not get into our new room until 3:30 pm. We missed a whole day at the event. I plan on sending a strongly worded to Red Lion.

It was a quick drop in late in the evening we got to town. The lady was very nice checking us in. I have my service dog with me and she put us in a room on the first floor. It look a little worn but it was perfectly clean and in good condition. The man working in the morning was very nice as well. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.

Elevators not working correctly, reported, not repaired. Breakfast menu, but no waitstaff (service to start @ 7:00 AM, didn't). Who knows, maybe no kitchen staff either. A very, very disappointing stay.

Needed a last minute place to stay for a night. Would not stay here otherwise. Area is teeming with transient crazies. Right next to 101 and can get really loud if the room faces that way.

It seem to run down since we last stayed several years ago. Hot water was not hot, one of the elevators does not work that we had to carry our luggage three floors up. Sorry to see the nice hotel degraded

The bathroom was in sad condition and the toilet kept running.

The housekeeping was terrible. They never made our bed. Most days they never came in to bring towels or anything.

4th time we've stayed here. Close to family. A bug thanjs to Nathan Sunday night for helping us out when it was busy. We'd stay here again. Staff has always been kind and accommodating.

This is the second time I have stay at this hotel. Room clean and comfortable. But a little old. No view out the window. Just a roof top with a wall painted white. I have a picture. The time before I was in a basement room with no view and next to if I remember correctly a weight room. Both rooms were nosy. . The noise from the other room bounced off the wall and made EVERY word clear to hear. Then in the day light the sun reflected off the white wall and roof and made the room uncomfortable do to brightness. The staff was friendly. Had no issues with any one working. The breakfast was lack luster. Oatmeal and bread. Although you can order an egg for extra charge. I have thought Red Lion as a nice option when traveling. But
Unfortunately I my self will look for other options when I’m in town next trip.

Hotel is fine just a little rundown looking. Noise was not an issue which is one of the biggest concerns I have in a place I am staying overnight. The parking is next to the main road and pretty open to anyone walking by and there were people walking by or through the parking lot but we did not see any issues. Might be a good idea if they separate the parking lot a little from the street but that would cost some funds. Next time through town I would stay here again. The free continental breakfast is pretty basic which is fine since if you want more they will cook up a full breakfast for a fee.

The hotel itself was in good shape, but the neighborhood around felt very unsafe.

Despite the poor reviews from others, this is one of the nicest Red Lions I’ve stayed at. What really made the stay great was the customer service. Our room lock wasn’t working so the front desk upgraded us to a new room. Not many places offer that. The only nitpick I have was the small amount of breakfast options.

The hotel appears to be located in an undesirable location, kind of a "slum area" for lack of a better word. Lots of homeless individuals in the area.The staff at Red Lion were so kind and very attentive. The food and coffee are very delicious. My room did not have any blankets; we had to ask for them. The microwave in the room did not work. The ice machine on the 1st floor did not work properly. The hotel room with a king bed was extremely tiny with a horrible view outside the window. The hotel is quite old and has a musty, bad smell. My favorite part of the stay were the staff, very kind and friendly. 😀

Location was perfect, right off the 101. Staff was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations for local activities and beaches to visit. Didn’t like that I paid for a room for 5 people and had to pay extra for a rollaway bed. Overall it was a great experience!

The room was dirty, the shower took about 10 mins to heat up. We booked a room for 5 was there wasn’t a fold out couch only two sitting chairs, so we had to ask for a cot which didn’t arrive until about 10:30pm. I’d skip this hotel if I were you.

Looked clean but smelled musty. Reception ignored my elderly parents. Couldn’t get a receipt since I booked through a third party. No list of channels for the tv. Not enough shampoo and conditioner for three people. First time I called front desk nobody answered. This suite seemed very unused and not checked recently. You be the judge.

Our stay was very comfortable with zero problems or drama which was very much appreciated. The staff were very nice and the bed excellent!

Everything was clean and in good order. People were all very nice and helpful. Some parts of Eureka are pretty “rough“ due to a lot of it homeless people but this isn’t a good area so a family would feel safe.

we loved our stay at red lion in eureka! we appreciated that they had 1 bedroom (one queen; one king) rooms available! perfect if you have kids! it was a great stop before heading into redwood. would stay here again!

Everything was pretty average in the room. We enjoyed the breakfast. We didn’t like that both ice machines weren’t working

The bed hurt a bit as it was very hard and lumpy but the staff and rest of the room was great.

Walking was hard for my husband with an amputation and his other foot was half foot. Asked for a close room and not too close at all.

The staff was helpful, but the facility is a little tired. The heated pool was not available for the 3 days we were there with kids. The morning continental was a good surprise, but the ingredients were not always stocked or brought out (to save money). The location has a lot of homeless people wandering on the street, but we felt safe and the car did ok at nighttime (we didn't leave anything in the car). No fan or window in the bathroom, or it was broken. Again, the staff was nice and helpful.
