It was a very good experience for us. Though we only stayed there for one night, the two girls at the reception were very helpful and friendly. We arrived earlier than the official check-in time. Instead of asking us to pay for early check-in, they asked us to wait a bit while they clean up a better room for us. They also help checking the train service for us and were helpful on other things.

It's somewhat small but OK. Room was clean, breakfast was very great and delicious. Housekeeper and restaurant workers were very kind.

The room was small and despite non-smoking, smelt strongly of stale smoke. Very dated.

Great value hotel and very conveniently located. Especially good shower and pleasant breakfast. Only complaint was not being able to charge my phone by the bedside once the bedisde light was off.

Got a studio for 3 persons. Location is great, right across the exhibition center and #2 tram. Very clean rooms. Staff extremely nice and helpful. Good breakfast. As any hotel within city of Basel, a free Basel Card was provided per person for free travel on any city transportation including bus #50 to airport.

There was too many bad points about this hotel! There was no air conditioning in my room in 39 degree temperature. This information was not available when we booked the hotel. I got locked out of hotel one time at 12:30 AM and my card weirdly did not have access to unlock the room and there was no staff to let me in!!!! I was lucky at the end that one of the hotel guests arrived by chance and let me in! I explained this to the staff in the next morning and they were too rude to even apologize!!! I asked for more tea bags once and the hotel staffs refused to provide. They told me it get charged every day but they did not charge next day neither!!! I have never been in a hotel with this poor service! It was very disappointing! Another point was that I was not careful when I booked the hotel and I did not notice that the room I booked did not have dedicated bathroom and I had to use the shared bathroom. It was kind of annoying but not the hotel problem! At first I thought that would the most annoying part of my stay but yeah the rest happened and I was amazed by my choice of hotel!!!!

Convenient location just off the centre of Basel. Very comfortable and spacious room. The fridge in the room was very handy as I had an eye infection during my stay and needed if fot the eye drops.

I stayed at Hotel du Commerce for five nights while attending a conference. The location is perfect for the conference centre, the river, and the trams. My room was spacious and spotless, and had a mini fridge which was useful for this long stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air con was appreciated due to the extremely hot weather. Breakfast was fresh and varied (especially the fruit!) I emailed at around 6am requesting an early check in that morning, and the staff managed it, even though they were very busy. My last night’s stay was a separate booking and the hotel arranged for me to stay in the same room without me even asking. I was really grateful for this great service. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Very basic apart from the bathroom that has recently been renovated and despite poor water pressure it is a small saving grace. The rest of the hotel is as basic as it comes, an EasyHotel is a few doors up and it is probably more luxurious! The room looks nothing like the one advertised - its more like a cross between a prison dorm and a youth hostel. Tiny TV that only has a few channels working. Basic bed - although the mattress is comfy... shame that they follow the standard Swiss thing of giving you just one pillow that collapses to a sheet of paper once you put your head on it! Hotel amenities are non existent - the bar is never open and staff are really indifferent to you being in the hotel. Coffee glass also hasn't been changed since I arrived 4 days ago and no free water bottles. Furthermore, curtains are not black out curtains - not so bad in winter but I would hate the 5 am wake up in the summer here. Oh and the heating doesn't work. WiFi was incredibly poor. It is a shame as I expected basic but paid a little more for a better room - unfortunately in Switzerland like everywhere - you get what you pay for and here it is expensive. So if you want just a place to crash and an average shower it is probably ok - just not for me.

This did not meet the criteria of a superior double as I easily sunk through the gap between the beds

Expedia says 550m from Station but its not the point of entry station. Nearly 2km from station for airport or other cities. no. 2 tram stops close to hotel.

Nice hotel at good location. Room didnt look as on the picture but was nice. Good breakfast. Staff very pleasant. Ive been given a free transportation and wifi in the city during my stay in Basel which was amazing. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but enough to start the day. And the price was very affordable.
