Great location and lots of great restaurants. Hotel is great.

Loved the antique decor and fireplace in the room. The parking was very convenient. Loved the rooftop patio. The hotel is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, the historic lift bridge, and the riverboat cruises. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The room we were in was VERY old and not clean, especially the bathroom. Please understand that some of the rooms at this property are old/vintage while others are newer and more modern. We unfortunately were on the old section. Jets in the whirlpool tub were filthy and while, even in clean I would never use a hotel hot tub in a guest room, it was quite off putting. I noted the cleaning staff did not carry a vacuum only a lint roller type of device to go over the carpeting. Also, I found various cobwebs throughout the room. Decor is very very very old, which might be some people's taste but it is old ornate type of furniture which was in desperate need of a good dusting. I will say, the location of this property is ideal, In the heart of all the action. Stillwater is an amazing town, this property just needs some MAJOR updates.

4:00 check in is a little late , for the price of a room you could at least have a mini fridge. Room wasn’t that nice. Just a typical run down hotel room. I’ve stayed at this hotel before and loved it. This time was very unsatisfied.

Great stay!

This hotel canceled our reservations an hour before checkin without explanation. They suggested another place to stay but wasn’t in the location we wanted. They were nice about it but it still somewhat ruined our day.

My best friend was in town and we stayed in Stillwater. Hotel was great. Love the free parking with the hotel stay. Room was clean and faced the St. Croix which was lovely.

Super neat place to stay. Close to the river, shopping, restaurants,etc. would definitely stay again!

The older bolnd lady that worked the front dest was very rude. The room sated pet friendly and that all taxes and fees were included. She tried to tell me my room was not pet friendly after driving from AZ with my dogs. Then she charged me more taxes and pet fees. Also when I called to get into the patking lot she told me I could not check in untill Tuesday after 11 am. I said it is Tuesday ar 6:30 pm. The bed was way too soft and both the chairs sagged in the middle. I would not reccomed staying here. The location is good but they do not have microwaves, refrigerators or even an ice machine. For the price there is a lack of amenities. Rude people should not be working the front desk.

Convenient to downtown

Great location, nice staff, but I booked a "cheap" rate on Expedia site. My room was a really "sad"---goodwill furniture, the bathroom was terrible (no pressure, poor lighting), no fridge, no ice, thin walls, etc. No plans stay this hotel again.

rooms need to be updated. stained ceiling tiles and bathrooms need TLC very dated for the price

The hotel was very convent to so many things in Stillwater, MI. I will be staying there next time we go up.

The front lobby is part of a small new section and looks very nice. Our room was in the old section of the hotel. It was clean but very dated. Wallpaper and carpet looked very old. Same with the bed and bathroom.

Musty smell, damp carpet, dusty rooms, rooms were very awkward, absolutely not what was advertised and certainly not woth the money that we paid.

The place is a dump& should be taken down!

I’ve been using Hotels.com to book hotels for the past five years and I have never felt the need to leave a review until now this hotel historic decent location was so overpriced for the quality of the accommodations. It was unbelievable. The rooms were filthy. The second pull out had a mattress that was like 1 inch thick, and No bed linens if it had been adequately clean and had comfortable beds, I may have Been able to overlook all the furnishings were as charming, but the stains and level of dirt was unacceptable. Any entryway of the room specifically room 304, we left some baggage, none of which contained food. We were on the third floor and when we picked up our bags, they were covered in ants. The room did not have enough towels, so I had to go downstairs and ask the front desk for towels. It was overall a horrible experience and the staff was not friendly, I give negative

Condition of furniture was very worn. No hooks in bathroom for towels. Sink was right under a shelf so made it difficult to wash your face.

The woman checking us in seemed to have an attitude because we must have book with some online service. They then charged for parking and said Hotels.com did not charge us correctly and we had to pay more. When we checked out they would not give me a receipt because we booked through an online service so we need to get the receipt from you but I am guessing it will not include the extras they charged us.

My wife and I prefer staying in older, classic hotels as opposed to cookie cutter chain hotels. We appreciate the individuality, charm and history. Our room in the older section of the hotel was charming, but poorly kept up. I appreciate the response from management to previous similar comments saying that “renovations are coming”, but simple things like throwing out the ratty desk chair and touching up the paint could make the room look more like someone cared. We stayed on Monday night, the hotel was certainly not full, and you put us in a room that you know needs attention when you had nicer rooms vacant that night. A better move would be to put people in the new section, show them the better side of your establishment and guarantee a good review and a return customer at no more expense for you. Instead we are certain to look for a place that is better run and maintained. A shame for such a lovely classic hotel.

This was a beautiful hotel. The room was a bit small but convenience was nice for going out on the town!

Had a great time here. The river was very high, but did not diminish our experience. Best rooftop bar in Stillwater, and amazing staff.

Love it everytime we visit!

Although the “older” part of hotel is very dated, room was clean. I hope these older rooms are refurbished soon because the hotel is great overall. On the waterfront, center of town with quaint shopping and 2 restaurants with great food. Service was good and friendly.

The property is a nice.The staff is nice too. We experience a power outage thru the whole hotel. The staff should have notified their guests what was happening. Call the rooms of the guest. Very frustrated with cleaning staff. My room was left unlocked & no towels. Not sure if they got distracted. But after that, did not feeling too safe. That any could have walk in, could it happen again. The overall I enjoyed my experience. Love Stillwater area!

Amazing to be right on the river. The rooms are not created equally. We were in the old section of the hotel and the rooms are in dire need of an update. The sheets are worn, the grout in the bathroom comes off when you walk on it, the paint is chipping, there are hardly any outlets and the old jacuzzi in the room is gross.
