Such a lovely hotel. Staff friendly and accommodating, lady on the bar made amazing Limoncello Spritz and free bar nibbles every night!. The hotel was spotless, and our room was great, nice balcony and overlooked the pool. Plenty to choose from at breakfast, fresh homemade lemonade is a must try. Would pick again

The hotel is a fantastic place to stay in Sorrento and easy walking to the centre.
Tony and all his team are so friendly and helpful and we had a great stay celebrating a big birthday and 40 years married 😁😁 and this was extremely well recognised by the team at hotel gardenia 😁😁

The cleanliness is immaculate and very discreet to not disturb

This is a lovely hotel with great staff. Our room was really nice on 3rd floor overlooking the pool area. Its easy walking distance down to the main town and the recommendations were excellent as were the breakfasts.
Remember though this is a busy place so rooms on the road side will have road noise and ours at the rear did have the noise of the local dogs, but this shouldn't deter you from staying. Do try the Il Leone Rosso (Red Lion) restaurant it was excellent and great value and about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!! We stayed at hotel gardenia for three nights in Sorrento during our travel to the Amalfi coast. We booked an airport transfer to take us from the Naples airport to the hotel and was told a price over a month beforehand. Our flight was delayed two hours and we emailed the hotel letting them know. We also provided the hotel with our flight info as asked earlier. apparently no one works at the front desk, answers emails overnight or tracks the flight like every other hotel does. We were told we had a 100 extra euro fee for a waiting time which was never spoke about before. when asking the hotel night manager at the front desk about it he was very nasty. DO NOT STAY HERE DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRANSPORTATION HERE!
They also require a key in place to keep the air conditioning on. They take the key away from you when you leave never allowing the room to get comfortable. The shower floods, the bathroom smells like sewage and the breakfast in the morning is awful. You also aren’t allowed to bring an iron in the room. If you need to iron clothes it must be done in a small room behind the bar in the lobby. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

We really appreciated the staff. They kept our luggage for us after we checked out. They were always courteous ,kind. Especially there was a young lady sorry forgot her name. If you have kids a pool is a definite plus especially in a heat wave.
The only drawback was there was a bar near by and you could here the band playing despite the closed windows but I believe that happens in a lot of hotels in Europe.

It was our first time staying at this lovely hotel we were so overwhelmed by how friendly the owners of the hotel are and staff they greet you like family. The hotel is in a great location to all Sorrento has to offer. We had a wonderful room upgrade for my birthday with fantastic views thank you again. All the reception staff were lovely a big thank you to Simona who really helped us out when our taxi to the airport got cancelled when we return next year we will book directly through the hotel for transfers to the airport. Tiziana who works behind makes the best cocktails and is such a ray of sunshine she always greets you with a big smile and is super friendly. All the staff at the hotel work really hard to make your time there special. Breakfast is fresh and lots on offer to set you up for the day of exploring Sorrento or just sitting by the the lovely pool area. Thank you again for making our time they’re very special and we look forward to seeing you all again there next year if not sooner.

Staff (Simona and Emanuella) were helpful and responsive even prior to our stay, arranging for ours transit from Naples. The room was nice and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Lots of options! We hung by the pool a couple of time - plenty of places to sit and also drinks and snacks are sold. The terrace on the top has 3 or so tables and chairs. I came up to see the sunset and the bay of naples (with Mt Vesuvius) at night - just a beautiful view.
Sorrento can be loud and noisy - our room had a balcony facing the main road. We knew that coming in so were not bothered.
Best of all is the location - within 15 minutes walk to the train/bus station where we caught the public bus to Positano. Also the hotel is within 15 minutes walk to the older town square where all the restaurants and shops are.

The staff at the hotel really cared about their patrons. They made every effort to help with taxis, excursions and anything else we might need. We only wish the pool was open longer because we would be out doing activities in the heat all day and then by the time we returned back, the pool was closed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed for 5 nights.. 2 adults and 2 teens. The hotel staff were friendly especially the breakfast staff.
We had a room on the main road side of the hotel it can be noisy but after a day of walking around the Amalfi Coast we all slept really well.
The breakfast was plentiful, on offer was toast, cheese, ham, eggs, bacon, croissants and more impressive a very large selection of cakes, tarts biscuits and some mornings tiramisu.
Good location 10-15 minute walk from the train station and town centre.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here to end our family tour of Italy.
A 10 minute walk from the train station, a 15 minute walk to the main center with other bars and restaurants in spitting distance.
The room was small for a family, but as expected and we were only in there for short bursts of time.

A convenient distance from the heart of Sorento. Hotel has a beautiful pool that the family will enjoy. A warning however in that the family quad is a not a true quad as it is a typical room for 2 with double bed and an added roll away bunk bed. May be OK for smaller kids (although safety in question) but by no means comfortable for teenagers. Had we known we would likely have rented out 2 rooms. Every ounce of space needed for our luggage and reminiscent of dorm life. A nice place but limit yourself to 2 people in one room and you will have an enjoyable stay at the Hotel Gardenia.

The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the center of town. You walk on the main road breathing in all the fumes from the buses, scooters, and cars. Also an extremely loud, unpleasant experience. Taxis want to charge €20 to take you from the main square back to the hotel if you’ve had too much to drink. A three minute taxi ride. To walk from the train station by station is just a little bit less and walk into the main square. But it is an uphill grade of a slight.

This was our second stay at this property. We love the location and the friendly staff (who remembered us from our stay there 3 years ago.) The rooms are of reasonable size and the bathrooms are very nice. The hotel has paid parking for guests at the hotel in a secured lot. The staff is very helpful and helped arrange some local tours and provided good information. We would definitely use this property again.

Hotel is a well managed hotel. Nice bedroom well furnished. Room cleaning excellent. Good bar service. Breakfast was Ok. Staff very friendly including owner and his wife.
Lovely pool area and sun deck overlooking The Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. Room had good side balcony albeit traffic noise is loud. When doors shut you don't hear anything. Air conditioning worked well. We didn't use the in room bar. Be aware that if you put anything in fridge to keep it cold, you get charged a few euros which seems mean considering the heat and need to keep drinking liquids.
The hotel is a good 20 minutes from centre of town along an extremely busy road with very narrow paths in places. This wasn't an issue for us however would be for anyone with a walking impairment.

visited with my wife, and adult son and daughter. We all were very happy with the hotel. Their recommendations for restaurants were consistently good. The road outside is busy, so try to avoid a room overlooking it if you want to use your balcony. It is about a 30 minute walk into the old quarter of Sorrento, but there are bars and restaurants nearby. The walk to the station (for Herculaneum and Pompeii) is about 20 minutes. We appreciated the complementary bottle of prosecco to help celebrate our wedding anniversary! The airport transfer service also worked well. All in all we would happily recommend.

About 15 min walk to square. You pass shops and restaurants on the way so interesting. Between 2 train stations, so walkable to both. Can also walk to ferry to go to Capri. Nice pool. Caught train to Pompeii and Herculaneum easy enough. Caught bus to and from airport.

This hotel is an absolute gem on the edge of Sorrento and away from the busy crowds and live music which you find in the centre of the town. It is an easy 15-20 minute walk into the centre and although on a busy road as some reviews say, it is not dangerous as long as you walk in single file in a couple of places. We enjoyed the walk which was all flat, especially after the amazing breakfast served - the best breakfast I have had in any hotel!! The cakes are simply amazing. This, along with friendly staff, clean rooms, a lovely pool area to relax in after busy days visiting Capri, Pompeii and Amalfi is all welcomed. We paid extra for a sea view which was worth every penny. The staff are all very friendly and cannot do enough to help. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.
