Great location and stay, no fridge in room though. Parking was tight for a larger car

Our room was one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in Europe!!. When you enter the hotel you will be transported to living in Old Lyon, but you also be surprised with their modern & chic decor. Thank you L'Academie Hotel for one of the best stays in Europe!! Staff was very helpful, taking and holding our bags prior to check in and providing directions to our destinations.

Good location and super clean! Rooms are small but still perfect for us family of four and a dog. Staffs were friendly and helpful!

There is a dud room at the hotel that we got. Shower didn't drain and room had no windows. Staff arranged a room swap at the Sister hotel across the street that was fine. So all in great stay.

It was unique, clean, and very comfortable. The two bathrooms and large space in the suite was appreciated for 3 people. The service we received from the hotel staff was wonderful - it was friendly, helpful, and professional.

We were very happy with our stay at L’Académie Hôtel in Lyon. The room is small, as is often the case in Europe, but updated, clean and pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old town with many things in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again. I would especially like to praise Vasselina (I hope the spelling is right), a sweet, helpful, attentive young lady who works at the front desk and helped us tremendously.

Old property beautifully restored, lovely spacious family room for our family of 3, parking is extremely limited (needs advance booking) alot of traffic in the area

Lovely hotel on edge of Vieux Lyon. Incredibly close to sights, great bars and restaurants. We had a wonderful room - incredibly comfortable bed, well laid out and large. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again

We booked this hotel because they specifically emphasize that they have electric car chargers. But NOT. And no help with alternatives. Arrogant

This place is located right at the entrance to the old town. So many places to eat and shop right outside the door. Beautiful building and rooms. Would stay again. The staff was wonderful.

This property location is right in the heart of Old Lyon staff spoken English and was very helpful. The room was extremely small and priced accordingly it was clean had a real shower and great A/C. Parking was in a garage. Directly across the street A small car is a must! As car rides an elevator. Best option I found in old town

We were put in the accessible room on the ground floor (we didn’t book this type of room), this room had no windows and the air conditioning was switched off. Reception said AC would be on later in the year. The room was boiling. The bathroom was a wet room that didn’t drain properly, so whole room was wet. It was also not possible to turn on the bathroom light without lighting up the bedroom with several spotlights. We raised our concerns with reception after the first night and were initially ignored. Later that day reception asked to see the room and agreed there were issues. We moved to sister hotel (as no other rooms were available) , which was ok but a much cheaper hotel (no refund of the difference or apology offered, as yet). The building was nice, but that room was not.

This hotel was quite cheap, and you get what you pay for. Good aspects - good location, good shower, room clean. However entry is via a side passage which, although clean, is poorly maintained, and the spiral staircase to the rooms needs maintenance eg walls need painting and flooring needs replacing. Room (114) is basic with uneven flooring and no view from the window. Breakfast was available at a neighbouring hotel - and I really didn't want to have to put on coat, hat and gloves to go to breakfast on a cold winter morning. Wifi was available but I got a warning message on my phone to disconnect due to suspicious activity, and my computer wouldn't connect at all - not ideal when I had come for a business meeting and had work to do. The Expedia site is confusing about hours when reception is open and when it is necessary to go to neighbouring hotel.

This hotel is perfectly adequate. You're in the heart of the historic quarter and close to plenty of transportation. You also are in historic buildings which makes the experience feel pretty authentic. The room I had was pretty small but it was fine for me alone. There is no AC but that wasn't a problem for me but it may be an issue for someone else. My room was street side and so it was very noisy at night since there are bars and restaurants right next door.

Superb location in the heart of old Lyon. The room would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as it can be reached only by a narrow winding stair. The room is tiny but entirely adequate. It’s very quiet and conducive to a good night’s sleep. Generous, delicious breakfast is served at the sister hotel just across the street. The hotel is perhaps 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral metro station. I’d go back.
