I stayed for 4 nights, it was a wonderful experience first time in Costa Rica. The staff was amazing, the hospitality was fantastic, the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu was amazing. The La Paz Waterfall Gardens was just beautiful experience of a lifetime i definitely recommend coming here. I will be back visiting again soon!!! Pura Vida thank you for giving me life again.

The property is in a great location with 5-20 min walking distance to a few good restaurants. The staff was very nice but the food didn’t meet the expectations on the menu. It has no amenities and the pool is very small but the view was great as the hotel is on the mountain side. It is very close to Alajuela with an Uber ride being about 5 mins. Uber is very cheap in Costa rica.

Absolutely beautiful place! Stayed here for a night to rest from travel before headed out for a retreat in Montezuma @ Anamaya.
The staff was wonderful! Super polite and accommodating! The food and drinks were great!
The views from the property were stunning, seeing the city lit up in the evening looked like Christmas lights twinkling in the distance. I would recommend this place to anyone and would stay there again when traveling into SanJose.

The property is gorgeous. It has beautiful views and it is located within a mountain, lots of vegetation. The only thing that needs improvement it is the pool. It is very small and it looks too old.

Our room had an odd smell and the walls were very thin. Didn’t really look as kept up as in the photos. Our rooms view was not as impressive as I’d hoped, and considering what we spent, I had expected a cleaner room and more peaceful stay.
Despite this, breakfast was fine and the staff were very kind. Wouldn’t stay here again, but the close proximity to some yummy restaurants and the city of Alajuela was nice.

It is a nice property, but the pool is very small and Juan who works at the reception is a very unfriendly and communicative person, sometimes poorly behaved, but Lucia had a very good disposition,

Great little hotel - comfortable, quiet, and clean. The highlights were our tour of Paos with Oscar, the breakfasts, and the beautiful gardens.

We arrived at 8pm and staff from the hotel were waiting for us after we cleared customs. Check in was easy and the rooms were lovely. The following morning we enjoyed the included breakfast and the hotel took us back to the airport to pick up our rental car. Overall, couldn’t be more pleased with the experience and would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

This was my first time visiting Costa Rica and thanks to the wonderful service that I received from the staff at Buena Vista Chic Hotel my vacation was made even more memorable. From the time I booked the reservation I felt very comfortable that I selected the hotel for me. My inquiries were responded to very promptly. They did the best at making me feel welcomed and relaxed. My flight was delayed so many times that I arrived at the airport in San Jose well after midnight but I was not worried that the shuttle wasn’t going to be there because they sent me a text that they were also tracking my flight. I cannot speak well enough about the staff. They all were very attentive and professional. I enjoyed the food and drinks, my tours and the beautiful hotel grounds.
I am highly recommending this quaint hotel and without a doubt book with them again.

Everyone at the hotel was absolutely phenomenal and truly kind and helpful. The entire experience was amazing but the people made it much more memorable and more personable. I recommend the hotel very highly. Thank you for the wonderful local experience and the wonderful excursions.

i loved how close this hotel was to the airport and loved the free shuttle. Oscar our tour guide was the best tour guide ever! He made our trip to Buena vista chic hotel worth it! The gardens around the hotel are amazing! However they didn't help us with our luggage even after asking, our villa was a long walk from reception. The waiters and the food in the restaurant was not that good. And the view in villa 2 looks out in front of other villas, and u dont get a great view. However with that being said our tour guide Oscar, the free shuttle, and the space inside the villa makes this places worth it.

Very nice breakfast included. I just wish the restaurant could stay open a little longer than 9pm at night. Staff was very accommodating in allowing us to buy a glass of wine even after they closed. Front desk was very attentive to a few requests we had at check in. Also nice they provide free shuttle service to/from the airport.

Nice property 20 min away from SJO airport. Good for 1-2 night stop over. Great view from grounds. Restaurant served good food and wait staff were quick and attentive. Small pool. No a/c which was fine but when leaving windows open, you could hear nearby traffic. You felt like you were far away from the city with abundance of birds, flowers, trees, and privacy of property.

Area is not as close to the airport as it says in the webpage. Towels were supposed to be white and were dark gray. Also, we ate diner at night and the soup was not of my liking so I could not drink it and they still charge me for it

Sweet little hotel. Lovely staff. The carpet was a bit worn and the garden rooms are smaller than advertised, but the view was lovely and they organized very early transportation for us with no fuss- even provided breakfast to go. Would stay again in a balcony room.
