It was close to everything from excellent food to Versailles. It is the place you want to stay.

Royal Hotel was great except for the toilet area which was so small it was difficult to use.

It was lovely! I only wish there was air conditioning. Nonetheless, Silvie was very kind and a gracious host. Andre was also very kind and helpful.

Unfortunately, the hairdryer didn't work. A way to make tea in the room would have been appreciated.

Very difficult to bring your luggage in and parking.

The staff couldn’t be friendlier and happy to help. The property is a bit tired but clean and everything works. Bed was comfortable, towels were soft and shower gel was nice. Within easy walking distance to the Palace of Versailles and the towns historical landmarks. We walked around the town and were fascinated by its history and architecture. Had a delicious dinner at Chez Lazare.

Nice, older property very close to Versailles palace. It had a small, workable elevator, which was wonderful. We didnt have their breakfast, but it smelled great the morning we checked out.

The hotel is well placed in the St. Louis district of Versailles with a good number of bars, restaurants and local shops nearby. Our room was comfortable, including the bed and pillows, spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean, modern with hair dryer and the shower worked fine, towels provided were of so so quality, but adequate. Also had a fridge, kettle and other facilities available to use, where required. It was much better overall than other similarly or somewhat higher priced hotels we have stayed at in Versailles before and we have already booked to stay there again!The staff were friendly. Only very minor negatives were: 11am check out, rather than 12; having to enter through a locked door with a code after 10pm (worked fine, though); the fact that the lead on the hair dryer my wife specially took with her could not reach in front of a mirror from any of the plugs in the room; very slow closing door in room (and the entry door used after 10pm), only one bedside table, but could have moved a room chair, if required.

Could use some updating, but for the price it was great, especially the location. Staff was very nice and easy to communicate with.

Lovely staff, ideal location for walking to Versailles, train station and rental car pickup as well as many restaurants. Optional breakfast very good!

This is the first European hotel I've stayed at in 30 years. Like pretty much all European hotels it's tiny. The toilet even more so. That being said, I loved it. Uneven spiral staircase, lift that only holds 2 people. It's so nice not being in a cookie cutter Hilton or other chain. We had a great breakfast and the proprieter served us home made marmalade. Sylvie, our propieter, was so gracious and helpful. She helped us figure out we didn't want to take the train to Paris when there was a strike and gave us a lot of insights on where to go. Wonderful host. I'd stay here again in a hot second. Also, go up the street away from Versailles palace and there are little mom and pop fruit stands and shops I didn't see till the last day.

Quiet. Close to shops and chateau. Not too far from station. Breakfast was served by the proprietors. Good coffee.

On busy street with limited parking. Toilet separate from rest of bathroom. Only food we could find nearby was pizza. Manager at desk friendly and helpful.

Really enjoyed staying at Hotel Asterisk. comfortable bed, large room and bathroom. lovely space. Very nice location, walking distance to everything. Great shopping area near the Heineken brewery. Had a Saturday market that was great. Would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel with excellent service and attention. Visited for a few days for a business trip. Knowing very little French the staff made feel very welcome and all spoke perfect English. Great breakfast and good rooms for the price and location.

This was an excellent hotel in a wonderful location to visit the Palace of Versailles. They said it was an 8 minute walk to the Palace and they were right. The room was lovely, the breakfasts were superb with a lovely variety of items to eat - crossaints, pain au chocolat, meats and cheeses, orange juice, tea/coffee with even a piece of home made cake. The hosts, Philippe and Sylvie, were lovely and were very welcoming - it was my birthday so had a little card and Birthday decoration in our bedroom. They also helped my husband and I get back to the airport by organising a taxi to pick us up from the hotel for our return home. Overall a wonderful birthday spent in a lovely part of France, the Palace was beautiful and the hotel was great - an unforgettable experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

While this is an older property, it’s impeccably clean and the owners are always onsite to assure a great stay. The bed was very comfortable. I was concerned when I saw the age of the hotel, but they’re obviously keeping up with mattresses! This hotel is a real value, only 10 minutes walk from the Chateau. And have their breakfast—tradition European breakfast and inexpensive.

This is a well located simple hotel with good hospitality. We were a family of two kids and two adults and were very happy with our stay before seeing the palace. The hotel is older but is nicely cleaned with a friendly check in experience. Plenty of good food nearby.

What a lovely hotel. We were very comfortable. The bed was nice and the bathroom was too. Breakfast was wonderful before visiting the Chateau and garden.

A good location a short walk from the centre of Versailles and the palace, with paid car parking just around the corner. Friendly welcome from staff. The room itself was a bit shabby and run down, with a less than comfortable mattress and a slightly damp smell; the small bathroom was clean but run down, with a very small shower.

Really nice location but lack of air condition on the top floor meant the room was very warm. Check in was brilliant and really happy with the hotel.
