Great location in central Auckland

Rooms vary; some quite tired looking. Large spacious accommodation. The fridge temp was set so it wasn’t chilling. Service team need to pay more attention and make sure things are set correctly.

Avani is a beautiful hotel with a convenient location to enjoy central Auckland. Staff upon check in was quite passive and didn’t seem to want to build any rapport with myself and other guest in order for us to have a welcoming experience after arriving overseas. But I understand it could’ve been a long night as we checked in around 4am. Both exterior and interior of the building itself is very quiet and overlooking clean. But upon inspection in our suite we found a few things as our stay went on such as cockroaches in our bathroom vicinity. Dryer machine had loose screw and wasn’t able to stay active due to door being loose. Myself and guest partner could see handprint marks as if there had been some sexual activity involving lubricants and standing action against the walls which speaks volumes of the cleanliness. Amenities e.g Jug and Toaster had built up dust all around and inside as if they had been stored in the cupboards for quite awhile. I do believe I would stay again with Avani providing they up their standards of cleanliness. Also requested extra washing powder, shampoo and conditioner and staff member who delivered was very welcoming and friendly.

This hotel was in a great location, close to Queen St. The receptionists were very helpful. Great views, and room layout.

Good location for getting to Britomart (10 mins walk) and other locations. Very comfortable and clean, excellent views. Helpful staff.

Great and convenient location, is near to many cafes and restaurants with Albert Park directly opposite the property. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but the cooking hood was greasy and oily. Overall, was a great stay and will definitely return.

Great welcome by the front office staff. They are always so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are starting to look a bit tired with the recent upgrades welcomed.

Hotel was great and I’d stay there again. I did have some issues that were seemingly caused by miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel. On check in I was told my booking didn’t include housekeeping. On booking you could book the same room with or without housekeeping and I had specifically chosen with. The issue is my booking didn’t say it anywhere. The rooms with ‘No housekeeping’ do say it so I knew my booking included it but the hotel had no record of that. Once we got to the room we found it didn’t have a balcony. Again I’d specifically booked a balcony room on Expedia. The hotel had no record of this. The staff at the hotel were lovely and immediately moved us. They also told us we could get housekeeping. Unfortunately that didn’t happen but when we asked for clean towels and extra soap they were happy to oblige. Again the hotel and staff were great but Expedia need to provide them with the correct booking information.

Loved my stay. Room was spacious and well laid for rest and working. Upon check-in, staff were so friendly and helpful! Location is incredibly convenient -- near green space, shopping and dining. Gym and pool are great -- gym equipment a bit dated, but tonnes of it and lots of space. Will definitely stay here again!

We came with our 4 month old daughter and our heating wasn’t working in the room so our room was freezing and so was our daughter , the sheets had a few stains on it and the room could definitely do with a bit of a maintenance touch up to the doors etc. Other then that the staff were lovely and we’d definitely return

Hotel location is both a blessing and a curse. Downtown location was excellent for walking with easy access to food, shopping, and wharf area. However construction on new underground rail system has many downtown streets closed to traffic. Many parking choices but you have to pay for ALL of them including at the hotel which is the most expensive option. Hotel itself is nice but slightly dated. What gave it a 5 star rating for us was that we had a kitchenette room on 21st floor with absolutely amazing views. I could have stayed on the balcony and just looked at the views all day (and night).
