It had rained heavily during the day and the river outside was very noisy, which was loud in our room overnight.

Stayed over weekend for wife’s birthday and also for our first year wedding anniversary. The service was fantastic, the food incredible and the hotel itself was in impeccable condition. Couldn’t fault anything the whole weekend. If I could afford to go there every year I wouldn’t have a second thought about booking it!

Beautiful property. Room was very spacious , clean $ comfortable. Food was excellent at both dinner & lunch. Had a very pleasant one night stay although expensive but we knew that. The only thing bothered us was dog barking in the night . There was a dog staying right next door but don’t know if same dog. Would stay again but probably upstairs.

Excellent stay. Food was fabulous. The room and public areas feel slightly dated but in some ways that is part of the charm. Would definitely go back. The staff were all wonderful and the surroundings so beautiful.

Gidleigh Park is a small slice of paradise. Chic rooms with modern bathrooms and all the amenities you need, a stunning location and grounds, delicious food, and fantastic, helpful staff. Perfection.

Gorgeous hotel in a stunning location in the Dartmoors (Chagford is a great little town too). Staff were all very welcoming and friendly and it was an incredibly relaxing stay. The only criticism I have is very minor and is that the restaurant service was a tad slow and a bit overpriced but we still had an excellent meal. I would definitely go back again!

Lacking style. Not warm in atmosphere and needs updating . Candles and maybe a little music and ligvfires to be lit..... little atmosphere. Great food.

My husband and I have traveled the world and have never been treated better. Be prepared for a very harrowing drive for the novice. Try to allow plenty of time to stay as the grounds are amazingly impeccable and wonderful!

The hotel has an imposing position, almost sticking its chest out . Once inside a warm welcome awaits, both the attitude of the staff and the comfort of the surroundings make you feel this is going to be enjoyable and comfortable. The bedroom we were given was typically quintessential English with a view across the gardens where the views across the lawns streams and flowers stretched beyond to the moors. The bed was big and comfortable and adjacent bathroom had the shower wanted by everyone, large ! The food was created by a magician, like nothing I had tasted before, yes it was that good. The three course menu we choose was in fact ten by the time the chefs complimentry dishes had been had, the surprise came with coffee, and I won't spoil the surprise here. One of the best things about staying in a luxury hotel for me is the cooked breakfast, no buffet, just freshly cooked mushrooms bacon and eggs, freshly squeezed juices and berrys aplenty.

Beautiful setting, superb staff, and very continental. The food is modern small portion many courses style and changes very little day to day. It is expensive but would be good for a two night special occasion. .
