Nice hotel room for 3 friends, very nice private beach with food and beverages for a cost. Very helpful with late checkout for EUR 30. The breakfast was the biggest drawback, not bad but not amazing, especially for a 4 star hotel. Would recommend

The hotel is perfectly located- a short walk from great restaurants (Ladi and Black Marlin) and supermarkets like Spar. The staff were amazing at booking us taxis, recommending places to eat or anything else we needed to enjoy our stay. We really enjoyed access to their pool, sunloungers and beach front and even found that we preferred this to some of the other beaches we visited in Saranda/Ksamil! Could not recommend enough and will definitely be coming back!

The staff at Vila Kalcuni ( especially Jona) took great care of us and speak English well. The rooms are small but thoughtfully designed and equipped. It's walkable to the port and the waterfront.

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and varied every day. Staff was kind and responsive; even when they didn't speak English, they were very helpful and went above and beyond to provide for us. Although the beach is small and stony, the water is clean and warm. Overall, it was a great experience.

Not what we were expecting at all. Booked the sea view balcony (deluxe room), hoping to wake up to a nice vista. Instead, we were woken up by sanding, sawing, drilling and shouting. There were renovations within the hotel grounds only a few metres from our balcony, with 5-6 workers shouting and constructing on the outdoor bar area. Asked for a hotel transfer and the staff lied to Expedia about the renovations (saying it was just a little bit of painting and wasn’t inside the hotel). Staff were not friendly, breakfast was okay, but otherwise an unwelcoming atmosphere. Had to fight Expedia for a transfer too, but glad we moved. Not what we wanted, what we paid for, or what was advertised.

Place was really clean which was great and conveniently located near port terminal (4 minute walk) and plenty of dining options. It's also not too far from the main area where all the restaurants and bars are on the main seafront. It's a shame it was a noisy area as the annoying party boats from the main bay come close to the hotel from 10pm to midnight and it is loud!!!!! You can also hear other people slamming doors and talking loudly on the balconies which is annoying so didn't sleep well. Breakfast was very disappointing.....random mish mash and awful coffee.....you have to pay for the decent coffee which is insane. Rooms should also have water or kettle at least but only a fridge. Staff were ok, not the friendliest and Albania has a lot to learn generally in terms of hospitality and amenities compared to other countries. There was no bar or lunch options at hotel as it was closed so had to go out each day which we did anyway as did alot of day trips rather than staying at the hotel.

I wish I could give a higher rating that five for staff and service. Not only is this a beautiful hotel with superb facilities, including a private beach, but it is also run by the most fantastic family for whom nothing is too much trouble. Saranda as a destination is incredibly safe and the promenade is stunning. This hotel just added to our wonderful holiday. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff all speak English, it is only a four minute walk from the ferry terminal and the beds are so comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Bar /cafe was not operated properly , unexperienced staff and strange opening hours

Had an amazing stay at Vila Kalcuni. It was so modern and everything felt brand new. Everything was super clean. The pool area is so luxurious and beautiful. Would definitely stay again. Felt very safe as two female travellers. There is even a washing line on each balcony and pegs. Never found a problem parking our car. Always sun beds available. Only negative was that the staff were not overly friendly they were quiet and kept themselves to themselves and breakfast was a little repetitive but they would cook us any type of eggs we asked for in the mornings. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic hotel, great staff, wonderful suite. Walkable from ferry port and restaurants. Exchange shops locally to get lek. Basic breakfast but nice.

Super hotel - great service

Nice little hotel by the ocean in Sarandë. Easy to find with GPS. Parking right outside the door. Walking distance to restaurants etc. Nice view from the room. Breakfast is very basic, and started 9AM during my stay. Staff has limited English skills, but seems friendly.

Hotel was perfect proximity to the ferry terminal. Beach access is alright. The beach beds/coverings look so used and gross. I didn’t appreciate that I had to pay for beach towels given the price of the rooms (I stayed in both the deluxe and superior; highly recommended the superior). Breakfast was ok but same things day after day. I asked the lady working in the kitchen to make me scrambled given she was just standing doing nothing and she said no. This is a not a big hotel so it’s not like there were many guests mid sept for my request to be unreasonable. That I didn’t appreciate so the hotel is not exactly going to accommodate. Heads up bring your own towels. Theirs are hard like rocks.. i recommend an upgrade on towels for the hotel owners. Overall I give 3/5 stars. It’s clean and location is convenient.

On the plus side: probably the best location in Saranda. Incredibly close to the ferry terminal, the bus station from which the bus to Ksamil/Butrint departs, the beach walk. It was also nice that the hotel had both a pool and a beach. However, hotel guests have to pay €3 per person and day for beach/poolside towels, which felt stingy. On the minus side: incredibly bad noise isolation. Whatever goes on in the room next door or in the corridor, it sounds as if it's happening in the middle of your room. As our neighbours had a huge fight this was unpleasant. We don't recommend the breakfast.

The stay was amazing. Staff was great and made our honeymoon special.

Excellent location, just few steps from Saranda ferry terminal, in a quiet street with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, mini markets, tour agencies, ATMs, money exchange and so on. Few minutes walking to main city promenade. Very attentive and helpful staff, quiet surroundings (I slept with balcony doors open and wasn´t bothered by anything). Perfectly clean premises, inside and outside the room. Full breakfast with quality goods. Enjoyed a lot! And the view... ah the view... I could stay there forever! Be aware that there are some feline residents and even some turtles walking around. Felt like in a big fancy beach house. It doesn´t have that hotel atmosphere, very welcoming and charming. I didn´t use but there is a parking lot and an amazing pool. Really glad I choose this hotel for my vacation. Tks Vila Kalcuny team, you were great!

What we loved about the hotel: The management, very personal and manageable yummy breakfast buffet, the location (it's in an upscale neighborhood and can walk to all the restaurants and entertainments), proximity to the beach (right in front), the appointments in the suite including the gorgeous views, and the resident turtle family that loved being fed cucumbers. What we disliked: noting. It was the most memorable place, and we have stayed in some of the most upscale hotels around the world.

Perfect location for couples - if you are looking for a contemporary & modern hotel with a beautiful view and superb staff, then look no further than Vila Kalcuni. Our stay at the hotel was from 20/04/18 to 26/04/19 - We booked a Deluxe Suite Sea View room and the room itself was excellent, with large supercomfy bed, room area is very spaceful and very clean. Also the hotel area is very quiet. The room & balcony view was perfect at the 3th floor – beautiful seaview, huge size balcony. -The bathroom was spacious and super clean, with separate shower and separate bathtube. - Good enough selection of breakfast options. But maybe some better bread selection, and fresh juices makes it better. - Maids and other staff were smiley and friendly. - Clean and private beach area with sunbeds and towels provided. Location is super, everything is near beside You, just a few minutes walk, good restaurants and service, and we even take a ferry to Corfu for couple of days, the terminal is about 3 minutes walk from hotel, very convenient - The reception staff were so polite and competent, special thank You to Miss Maria, check in and check out was very fast and what a superb room we had! A massive thank you to all of the staff members at the hotel who are all really friendly and helpful and always go the extra mile and give us good tips and information. Really everything was great and this hotel is very highly recommended. Our best regards from Helsinki, Finland.

Vila Kalcuni is a wonderful hotel with exceptional staff and service. The website photos don't really express how lovely the large deluxe suite really is. We splurged on their best suite and I'm so happy that we did. It cost only a bit more than a standard room and it was fabulous. The view and private terrace overlooking the sea created a perfect setting, the textures selected to adorn the suite are soothing and quite perfect. It's quite a small hotel, which allowed time for us to get to meet the staff on a personal level, which was really nice. They were very courteous and helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend Vila Kalcuni. One minor note of caution - if are conducting business while in Albania know that their internet infrastructure is not up to modern standards. Some of our devices picked up wifi well, but for business use, I needed to go to the lobby to work. I'm told it's getting better, so just check with the staff. And don't miss visiting the UNESCO site at Butrint - it is a marvellous archaeological site.
