Beautiful location, comfortable rooms and beds. We enjoyed our stay and our only issue was shower which needs repairs/improvements. Overall a great stay and loved the area and cabin.

We loved the space of the cabin for 4 people, and we especially love the hot tub available on the deck!! Areas that NEED improvement: The communication was terrible. I texted a note before we came and received no response. Then once our trip came, no one was there to check us in. So we didn't know where to go, what the code was to get in, etc. I had to purchase cell service for the day to call and find this information out. Then once we got into the cabin, we realized that we didn't have bedding for 4 people. Did someone come to help? Nope... My husband was told to rummage in the farmhouse basement and find extra bedding, then we had to make the upper bunk bed ourselves. The hot tub also wasn't warm, so we had to call again to find out how to heat it. We would have appreciated a bit more information in the room or instructions on arrival and/or how to operate the hot tub, etc.

This cabin is perfect if you want a cozy, quiet experience in north Iceland. It’s simple and has everything you need for a restful stay. I would absolutely stay here again.

Awesome!!! A little bit far from city but the best place to stay and see aurora! Of course, warm, well-cleaned and the host had a good communication! Really recommend!

We stayed in one of the small cabins, they all have hot tubs! That is an amazing feature. The cabin is older but well build. Some of the use over the years is showing but it is a decent cabin. Some more attention could be put to for example labeling the numbers on the electric stove so that you can see how high you turn it (the numbers are worn off and it takes some investigation to figure out), but once you have it on high it does cook fine. It is a bigger cabin than most newer cabins, actually had a decent living space, nice porch and don't forget the hot tub! Even little battery candles which you can use when you are sitting in that hot tub. Wifi worked perfectly as with all places in Iceland we've seen A very comfortable vacation place, incredible view right from your porch over the fjord.

Lovely place by the fjord. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Would personally prefer TV in lounge as wouldn't watch in small bedroom.

This was the perfect Cottage! Especially loved the hot spring fed hot tub! Well equipped and cozy. And the view! Amazing stay, wish it had been longer.

The cottage spacious, it was easy to find, and we really appreciated the chlorine free hot tub.

A very nice place - fantastic hot pot - beautiful surrounding. Recommand to change the broken light bulbs and check the freezer. Very good grill.

Really enjoyed my stay here and boat trip to nearby Hrisey. Cottage had everything I needed. Will be back.

Loved this place. Very well laid out small cabin for two, every cabin has an incredible view and it’s own hot tub. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great cabin close to town but feeling far away. Called the number before getting there and was told we had cabin 3. Easy to find and wonderful inside. Hot tub was a bit colder than you’d like but it was beautiful.

Lovely little wooden chalet in a very quiet location looking out over the fjord. Hot tub ready for use on the covered porch (even in Nov…) but we didn’t try it…. Had everything we needed in kitchen and was warm. Bedroom was very small and not ideal for double bed which was pushed with one side against wall but worked (kept suitcases in lounge area).

This cozy cottage is - perfect. The hottub is huge, likely the nicest design we’ve seen anywhere in Iceland, overlooking green grassy hill that meets an expansive view directly over the fjords and mountains, with a lovely young pine forest behind that shields the wind and makes you feel remote & secluded, though you are minutes from both great dinner & lunch spots & two towns.

This property was a terrible waste of money. I am very disappointed with both the property and it’s owner. First of all, the picture that was shown on the property listing was not even close to what we actually were living in. The place was infested with insects, the WiFi did not work during the duration of our stay, and there was no cable (even though it was advertised). We tried reaching out to the property manager about these issues but he dismissed us and told us he was aware of these issues but “could not do anything about it”. He eventually became unresponsive and left us to deal with these problems on our own. Overall I feel like I got scammed and would like something to be done because of the false advertisement and poor customer service.

Although this was the place I was most looking forward to during our Iceland trip, we were really disappointed by the whole experience. The cottage was falling apart and there is really no customer service. There were no light bulbs in most of the rooms when we checked in at night. Tried to call customer service several times but there was no response. Also sent them a message through the booking app but no response. Talked to someone on the phone the next day but they didn’t bother to fix the issue. There were no instructions or information about anything in the cottage or surrounding areas or how to reach customer service if there was an issue. There was no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. If this was expected, we should have been informed before arrival so we would have bought some. The shower door came off while my daughter tried to close it and almost fell on her. The list goes on. Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay.

Nice location, everything needed to relax die a couple of days

Having traveled for 30 years I have found my FAVORITE SPOT! Beautiful clean modern spacious (could of slept 10 comfortably) cabin with a hot tub overlooking the fjord with beautiful snow capped mountains in the background. Full kitchen. Bring some food and stay for a week.

Absolutely gorgeous location, pleasant cottage, suited my group of five quite well. Fifth time staying at Ytri-Vík over the last seventeen years, and will likely continue to stay there when visiting north Iceland.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cottage. I had the best night's sleep of my entire vacation here, as the bedding was so comfortable and we were able to open all the windows and relish the fresh air. My only suggestion is that coffee and supplies should be offered. The closest town was 15 minutes and it took us some time to locate coffee first thing in the morning.

The views from the cabin are tremendous! The coffee maker was broken.
