Overall our stay was wonderful. Close walk to the beach made each beach day that much easier. Our complaint was with the pool. On the first day of our stay I contacted the management company about the cleanliness of the pool. Covanent quickly responded and had a pool tech out to clean the pool. Unfortunately by our last day the pool was covered in algea and we lost a day of pool use. Again Covenant responded swiftly to our concerns and had a company out by mid morning but the pool was too far gone to use the remainder of our stay. Overall our stay was wonderful. Great location and a perfect size for our family.

Patty’s Bungalow was a great choice. We were so comfortable in the house because it had room to spread out. The screened porch was a favorite place to hang out under the fans. The pool was a great feature. We swam day and night. July is a hot time in St. Simon’s and the pool was always there to cool us off. It is large enough for several people to be in it at the same time. The walk to the beach is quick and pleasant. A short walk in the other direction leads to a nature viewing area by the marsh. We were glad we took our roku and a large tv to set up on the screened porch so we could watch some family movies during afternoon rain storms.

We had a great stay and really enjoyed the house. The location was great and an easy walk to the beach (even with two kids and a wagon full of stuff!). The only, very minor issue, was the bed in the master bedroom is a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, a great stay!

Comfortable house in a great location near East Beach. Could be improved with beach chairs and towels, which were not provided. Also could use a broom! Premises were well maintained, including pool. Good price to value for this property.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Everything was clean and comfortable and we were able to use the pool even if the water was a little cold in late March. The property is in a great location in the east beach area and easily walkable to many lovely beach areas or a short bike ride to downtown. The property manager was extremely responsive. A few suggestions to make our next stay even better: provide beach towels on site, have a working pool cleaner/strainer so we can clean the leaves out of the pool without having to call and provide a few more blankets to use during the colder season.

We loved our time at this property. Well appointed. Loved the screened in back porch and pool. The morning light was amazing throughout the house. I love East Beach and this property has the best and most convenient location.

We had a wonderful week here. The pool was the main attraction for the kids, and the easily accessible shower meant that we could come home form the beach, shower without going into the house to rinse off all the sand, and then hop right in the pool. The location of the house is a short walk to the beach, and an easy bike ride to restaurants. Quiet at night. The pool was not super clean when we got there, but it is spring on SSI and when we requested it be cleaned, the owners took care of it right away. The house is comfortable, the beds were comfortable, and I would love to come back!

I stayed alone the first couple nights. Your perfect cottage enveloped me in warmth, coziness, and comfort. The others felt that same upon arrival. We felt we could have stayed much longer. 1625(?) is perfection. Our only suggestions are : more kitchen towels and the cooktop/oven took longer than usual for cooking.

Overall the experience was very nice. Loved the location and the house. Loved the pool. A few things to mention: -Check in was a little hairy. We arrived after midnight. The lockbox device was not working and I worried at that hour we might not be able to reach the manager. Fortunately we got it to work and didn't have to go that route. Come to find out later the keys had a button pushed in and the rest would not work while the other button was pushed in. This info would have been helpful to know initially. -The TVs are a little small. I know, TV isn't a huge concern during a vacation at a place like this. But just my two cents. -The master bed was a little too firm. Personal preference. Overall though the experience was great.

This was a great place to stay with my son and his friend. The pool was great for everyone and very convenient to get the teenage boys out of the house. The beach is right around the corner. Plenty of space for us and the screened in porch was perfect.

Everything went as planned. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Loved the pool! We would love to go back again.

Comfortable and charming and close to beach

We absolutely LOVED this house! The photo really don’t show how large and lovely this house really is! The house was spotless and filled with everything we needed. Very nice gas grill as well! The patio and pool were wonderful, relaxing hangouts for everyone! Neighborhood was also very pretty and quiet. Very close to the beach! Management was so friendly and attentive! We could easily stay in this house very summer!!! We will definitely be back!!!

This property was clean and spacious . The location was great! Short walk to the beach and short drive to town. Returning from the beach to spend the evening around the pool or in the large screened in area was amazing. Loved every minute of our stay.

Someone with a keen eye has spent a significant amount of effort furnishing and decorating this home, and we were lucky to benefit from it. Besides being perfectly located a few minutes’ walk from the beach, as well as having a large screened in porch and welcoming pool, this home stands out for its comfort and style. The photos don’t do it justice.

The home was cozy and very close to the beach. If it was warmer we would have definitely used the pool! We had a wonderful family trip.

This home is a remarkable property, but renters should be aware that it is terribly downgraded by the management company, Purple Dog Rentals. This property should be titled BYOE - Bring Your Own Everything, if you wish to feel at home, which has always been the mantra of VRBO rentals, at least while I've stayed with them for over 15 years. It starts with the tiny, under performing router, which required constant rebooting & unplugging for it to cool off and operate properly. We finally got tired of that, so used our hot spot on iPhones to have internet service. The router routinely over heated to the point it was too hot to even touch, causing constant Wi-Fi failure. The mattresses were so hard, the beds slept as if we'd thrown a sheet over a military cot - painfully uncomfortable. So, bring your own mattress pads or mattress toppers for Queen beds. The pillows provided are basically $2 disposable pillows that crunch when you lay on them. I've slept on better pillows (and mattresses) in hospitals. So, bring your own pillows from home. There were no paper napkins; you must get by with ONE trash bag in the kitchen (even though we stayed FIVE days); and, half roll of el cheapo, single ply paper towels were provided. So, you must equip the kitchen with all paper products and basics, such as salt, pepper, sugar, etc. And speaking of paper, there are no boxes of facial tissue provided, and the single ply toilet paper is absolutely the worst - all are simply low rent, bargain basement, budget cost cutting additions from the management company. Purple Dog has taken a gorgeous home in East Beach on St. Simon's and appointed it as if it were a low rent space on Tybee Island or a trailer in the fishing village at Shellman Bluff. Such a shame they have treated this property as if it's a beach comber budget bomb, and not equipped it to be the total package it could be. And speaking of equipment, the TV is (approx) 2008, 24 inch, Magnavox that has such poor picture quality it was hard to read text on screen at times. I've had computer monitors that were bigger and better. All of this could be easily corrected. So, the question is, would we return to stay at this property again? You bet - although, not while it is managed and stocked by Purple Dog Rentals. If this is how they take care of their renters, I will do everything possible to avoid their rental properties in the future. There are many others available on St. Simons Island. But the pool was great.

Pictures do not do justice to this lovely,spacious cottage. It just feels like home when you walk in. The tabby construction is beautiful and the well maintained garden areas are a plus. The screened porch over looking the pool area and the heated pool were both huge hits with the whole group. The well appointed kitchen had everything needed to cook great meals. Very convenient to the beach,restaurants, and the pier/village area. Cota is located on a quiet street shaded by large oak trees making it nice for walking. Would recomend this rental to anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful location. Thank you for letting us share your home!

Cute little house. Clean, plenty of towels. Loved the pool and neighborhood couldn’t be better. Only downside was WiFi was sporadic.
