For the first time ever, we had the most relaxing and wonderful holiday at this beautiful cottage.
The cleanliness, and location were superb.
We have a very anxious cockerpoo, and I’ve never seen him so relaxed on a holiday.
The basket of goodies are fantastic and the best we have ever received.
We loved the cottage so much that we even booked for next year while we were here.
Thank you dormy we can’t wait to see you next year.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Dormy. The house was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and very clean. It was very dog friendly with spare dog bowls, leads, poo bags, crate etc and throws for the sofas if needed. Communication was excellent. Our welcome pack was very generous, the best we have ever received - full of amazing locally sourced produce including bacon sausage and strawberries and tomatoes that tasted amazing, thank you.
As reviewers have said, the road outside has very bad potholes but the fact that the beach is on your doorstep, you have to take that into consideration. The garden is huge and secure at the back and our dog loved having a run around trying to catch the rabbits. The beach is lovely and only 5 minutes away. We called into the Smallsticks cafe which was nice but it was still in off season opening so closed tues to Thursday which was a shame. Caister and Yarmouth were not far and we popped into The Swan at Stalham who were very dog friendly for a nice pub Sunday roast and had a huge pub grub lunch at the kingfisher cafe at Walcott, also dog friendly.
The neighbourhood was very quiet, lovely clean house and beach nearby so good for reactive dogs and those looking for a very quiet dog friendly place to stay.

A return visit to the cleanest Holiday accommodation I have ever experienced. Located so near to the beach, and the large garden with high fences is a delight for the dogs. The entire property has been planned with dogs in mind relieving anxiety for their owners.

A lot of holiday accommodation is marketed as being “dog friendly” when really they aren’t. This is not the case with East Ruston Cottages or Dormy they are welcomed which was exactly what we were looking for! Dormy was super clean and had everything we needed. It was very quiet and peaceful and I felt relaxed as soon as we arrived exactly what was needed to recharge the batteries. I would highly recommend!

Lovely to find a top quality holiday cottage that truly welcomes multiple dogs! Bright, modern and dog safe, just a short walk from a gorgeous beach. And a great company to deal with. Recommend!

A great place for a holiday with our dog , everything was catered for even treats for Dexter and a welcome pack for us which was amazing, the bungalow was clean , spacious and the gardens were brilliant and safe to let the dog out.
If you can't walk very far you do need a car to get you to places , the little cafe around the corner didn't open when we were there which was a shame as it comes highly recommended

This property is beautifully maintained and so very comfortable. Everything is of a high quality best I have ever found in a holiday cottage. This was my second visit which says it all. It couldn’t be more dog friendly from the throws, toys, bowls, towels and treats everything has been thought of. Chasing the rabbits in the large secure garden kept my dog happy and busy. The very short walk to the beautiful sands makes this place just perfect.

Beautiful accommodation, best ever welcome pack, 2 minutes from the gorgeous, deserted beach. Dogs and I loved it!

Second time at Dormy. Such a bright, sunny and spacious place. The back garden is great too - totally enclosed and big grassy area so dogs are safe and secure to play and run around.
Just a 2 min walk to the sandy track leading to the super beach. The best bit… loved being able to hear the waves from the back garden.

After searching to find supposedly dog-friendly holiday accommodation only to find so many rules about what dogs weren't allowed to do, a Google search for 'holiday cottages where dogs are allowed on the sofa' thankfully turned up East Ruston Cottages.
We booked a week at Dormy in February and thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was our rescue dogs first holiday and things couldn't have bee better!
Dormy was cosy, comfortable and well equipped.
There were so many great features for dogs (and humans!)
The garden was totally secure and our dog enjoyed running around in it.
As you can see, Libby loved the sofa which was big enough for the 3 of us!
The bed was very comfortable (and I usually struggle to get comfortable at night!)
Having a dog-reactive dog meant that we ate at our ‘home from home’ and the kitchen was well equipped.
The welcome pack was great and very much appreciated.
The patio doors at the front of the house made it light and airy. It did however, let our dog-reactive dog see every passing dog. But we were able to turn this into training exercises.
The beach is so close by and we walked every day on it.
A great holiday-thank you very much

What a beautiful bungalow. Spotlessly clean with everything we and our dogs could need.
2 minutes walk to the beach.
The beds were sooo comfortable, slept better than I had in ages!
Well equipped kitchen and the most amazing welcome pack. Bread butter milk bacon sausages eggs biscuits chocolate and a bottle of Fizz! Oh and some homemade treats for the doggies as well.

A warm, comfortable bungalow with everything needed for me and my dogs. Lovely to be such a short walk to the beach. Our second visit and we had a happy, restful holiday. Only down side is the potholes!

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dormy. Fabulous location so close to a pristine dog friendly beach that we had all to ourselves much of the time. The walk across the cliff path to Happisburgh was fabulous. Dormy was very well equipped, immaculate, warm and comfortable. The goodies in the welcome pack were high quality and delicious. The garden suited our dog Larry perfectly. The holiday was a value for money and thoroughly peaceful and relaxing break. I would highly recommend it to all dog lovers.

Dormy is a lovely place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing break. We took our 2 dogs who loved playing in the garden and on the beach which is at the back of Dormy. The accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed, and the welcome basket and dog treats were a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Overall a lovely few days away and we would definitely recommend the property. We would definitely stay again. Thanks to everyone associated with Dormy, the service from start to finish was excellent.

Dormy was as good as the marketing pictures, great condition, spotless clean, comfortable easily accommodating four adults and four labradors. The easy access to the beach was a bonus as was the sound of the waves overnight. Caution is needed to navigate the pot-holed access road. There is a lot within walking distance but in the winter when the weather is poor it may feel remote. We had a great time getting away from the daily rush and would revisit the area.

A relaxing bungalow in excellent condition with everything you would need for a holiday with your dog. Being close to the dog friendly beach was a bonus.

We had the most amazing couple of days in Dormy with our teenage children and our pooch.
The place has absolutely everything you could wish for, a real home from home.
Furnished to a high standard, equipped with all that you and your dog could need. Made our first holiday with our dog stress free.
The welcome pack was amazingly generous and so lovely to eat local produce.
Lots of beautiful walks straight from the property and also local amenities all super friendly.
5 star property, we can't wait to return.

Fabulous comfy cosy cottage in the ideal location only a minute walk from the beach. We've travelled a lot with our dogs but never stayed in such a dog friendly cottage. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in & the fittings & fixtures were way above what you normally get in a dog friendly cottage. And what can I say about the welcome hamper? It was amazing & lovely that it was full of local produce. The access road is a bit pot holed & needs careful navigation to avoid the worst but it was so worth it. Definitely on our return list

Our fifth East Ruston Cottages holiday - our first time away for Christmas and The Dormy didn't disappoint. Perfect for us - spotlessly clean, warm, very comfy beds, fresh flowers, Christmas decorations, and, as we have come to expect from ERC, totally dog welcoming. The excellent and very generous welcome pack from Brad and Georgia was fabulous with such a variety of local produce, which we enjoyed over the week. thank you also to the ERC team for the card, vouchers and Christmas gifts. We love this area and the walking it offers. So many dog friendly places - Smallsticks Cafe and The Dunes Cafe, amongst others. A special mention to Julie and her team at The Butcher's Arms who provides our excellent take away Christmas Dinner. A faultless and fabulous holiday from booking to leaving - on the whole even the weather was kind to us. Thank you everyone.

After seeing a post from ERC re availability for firework weekend we had booked Dormy within 15 minutes of sitting down for a coffee! It was just what we were looking for. The dogs had a relaxed time (only one bang heard in the far distance going un-noticed by them both) which meant that we also had a relaxed time. Dormy is well laid out, spacious, clean, comfortable and has a great secure garden. The generous welcome basket was much appreciated by both humans and dogs!
It was great to be so close to the beach, we even went for early morning walks to tie in with the tide times. We almost had it to ourselves. A pity we were not able to book it again for next November, however someone else had beaten us to it. Great location for stargazers as there is no street lighting but we were gutted to have missed the Aurora! (that will teach us to keep an eye on the TV weather rather than relying on an app!!)

We stayed at Dormy for a week and wished it could have been longer. This is definitely one of the nicest dog friendly holiday homes we have stayed in. The accommodation was so comfortable, including the beds, very nicely decorated and everything was to a high standard and worked! The large garden was a big plus for the dogs too! We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Beautifully furnished and so comfortable. Everything you could possibly need for a holiday with your dog was provided. Lovely big safe garden and a two minute walk to the sandy beach.

If some asked me to describe a perfect holiday home I will close my eyes & describe Dormy.
Open plan living with a beautiful modern kitchen very well equipped, the living room has a large sofa & big chair & an easy to use TV. Both bedrooms are large & have really comfy beds. The bathroom has underfloor heating & a great easy to use shower. Dormy has a lovely secure back garden with a family of rabbits but don’t worry they are gone before you get the back door open.
We had a very generous care package left for both humans & dogs. It’s so nice to stay in a dog friendly cottage that it beautifully clean & doesn’t smell of dog. East Ruston Cottages are amazing Sue & the team make your stay perfect & always on hand with any questions you may have before, during & even after your stay. Would we stay at Dormy again. Absolutely

Upon arrival I was impressed, the nice outside appearance and large secure garden for Teddy my Golden Retriever. The place was clean and very modern. The hamper provided was spectacular and totally not expected. Everything you need has been provided a Dormy. The location like 2 mins to the beach which we took advantage of daily and even a drive to a Bacton woods wasn’t too far away. I will definitely be returning next year. Only downside is the pot hole road didn’t go well with my estate car. But Dormy in general has a Wow factor.

Fabulous, relaxing holiday, so close to the beach, perfect for our dog who loved the freedom! Truly home from home, wanted for nothing.Superb welcome pack lasted all week, thankyou

Have just spent a week at Dormy. 5 star luxury accommodation. 2 minutes away from beach which was great for walking our 6 small dogs.
The 15 year old appreciated the short cut two bungalows down.
All rooms decorated to a high standard and the kitchen had everything you could need including a fantastic welcome hamper for humans and dogs.
Lovely views over fields at the front where you can watch deer and see beautiful sunsets.
To the rear a great garden for dogs to run round and a place to sit and listen to the sea over the sand dunes.
Fantastic location fantastic holiday.

Accommodation was clean & very comfortable. Everything that you needed was there especially for our dogs. Very well equipped. Lovely little food hamper when we arrived with lots of gorgeous goodies.
Wonderful location, so close to beach. Best dog friendly cottage that we have stayed in.
Only downside was the extremely bad potholes in the lane.

Very well appointed holiday home in a fabulous location for walks on the beach. We loved the quiet and the ‘away from it all’ feeling it provided. The welcome hamper was extremely well thought out and greatly appreciated. The front and back gardens were totally secure and dog friendly. We loved all the special doggie features: throws, warm shower, bowls, toys etc. The standard of cleanliness was exceptionally high alongside the quality of the bedding/towels. The only thing we missed was a wardrobe to hang clothes in the second bedroom - this is just a small piece of feedback for the owners. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Thank you we had a lovely stay!

This accommodation exceeded our expectations. Newly refurbished with dogs in mind with careful attention to solid fencing and a double gate system. We could let our pointers bound around the back garden without worrying they could escape.

Fantastic property for dogs and beach. Out of the way for our reactive dog and quiet. Great to have the tracks between properties for access to the beach.
Everything we needed, and lots of lovely touches such as crates, bowls and dog beds. Really super welcome pack as we arrived late on the Friday.
Would have been great if directions to property included entrance to road from Cart Gap car park (we were directed in via the other way by sat-nav) as access was easier and although the road was mentioned it was not initially clear how bad it actually was, as we arrived at dusk.
All in all, a fantastic holiday.

Truly a wonderful place to stay 2 minutes walk from the beach our 2 dogs Jady Mae & Jackson (cockapoos) loved there walks and throughly enjoyed a swim in the sea. We visited the beach every day and it was never crowded.
The cleanliness of Dormy was fantastic, everything you can think of was supplied. The welcome basket was top quality with milk, butter, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, bread to many items to mention. Our dogs were very well catered for there were dog bowls, bed, throws, dog biscuits. *Doggie Heaven*. I really could not ask for any more from our great stay at Dormy.

Dormy has everything you (and your hounds) need for a comfortable stay. With a cut through, literally 50metres away, to one of the best beaches in the UK - the location is perfect. We’ve already booked again for August!

The dogs and I received the most wonderful and generous welcome packs for our stay at Dormy, with a cute little Christmas tree and the most adorable Christmas elf cushions. Location was perfect, just five minutes walk to Cart gap or Smallsticks for a hot chocolate and cake. Dormy also has its own generous sized secure garden for Zoomies. The weather was really cold during our stay, with mostly blue skies allowing the most beautiful sun rises and sunsets.
Dormy itself was spacious and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, it was very relaxing and the dogs loved all their toys!

We have just enjoyed a lovely week with our cocker spaniel in Norfolk. The welcome pack for humans was great, and there was also one for our dog. Throws , bowls, leads etc provided and we were even told our dog could come on the bed if we brought our own linen. Large well fenced garden, and minutes from the beach. The property was well equipped and warm and cosy even though the weather was decidedly chilly.

Dormy is in a great location right next to the sandy beach, perfect for the dogs to run freely. You could hear the sea from the garden which was large and secure. Immaculately clean accommodation with everything we needed. A generous welcome pack which was so handy on arrival as no shops nearby. Takes just over an hour to walk along the beach to Sea Palling to play on the arcades and have refreshments in the cafe, pub or chippy before walking back. Highly recommend the food at Smallsticks cafe which is a short walk from Dormy. So dog friendly but not at all “doggy”. A really relaxing escape from it all

Dormy lives up to the pictures and description and then some! It’s welcoming lights on a dark arrival are warm and welcoming. The house is cosy and warm, with great quality furniture and bedding. The kitchen is well equipped and dogs are well catered for too. The outside hot tap is a blessing coming off the beach.
You can hear the sea clearly in the back garden and be on the beach in minutes. The beach is long and often empty, there’s the odd seal bobbing in the water watching you.
The location is quiet and relaxing, there is a dog next door, one to consider if you have a reactive dog. The garden is large and secure.
It’s easy to get to other great beaches, seal watch and stroll little market towns. Few great National Trust properties close by.
Don’t let the lane in put you off, but do take it slowly as pot holes are not always visible.
Lastly, there’s a great welcome pack and plenty of instructions clearly from owners who care.
We loved our stay and our dog loved the beach.

Dormy was lovely inside and out. Tastefully decorated, warm & cosy with everything you could need. A lovely welcome pack with treats for humans and the dogs! Pre-ordered afternoon teas in the fridge for our arrival from ‘I’ll Cook You Eat’. Sand dunes to the rear and field views to the front, we had some stunning sunsets. Access to the beach is a couple of minutes away and Smallsticks Cafe is just down the road (dog friendly and good food). The rear garden is very secure which was great for us as one of our dogs is blind - so we knew she would be safe. All in all a very relaxing week all round.

From the moment we opened the front gate until the last time we closed it, we were in our idea of a heavenly place. Absolutely stunning bungalow, immaculate, everything for happy humans and happy dogs. We took our 2 Springer spaniels Hope & Grace and our young Sprocker Harry, on a last minute break to Dormy. We felt like we had found something very special. It’s location meant we could walk the beautiful beach at Happisburgh without getting the car at all. The outside hot water shower made cleaning up sandy tired, but happy dogs that much easier. Good sized gardens front and back and secure meant the dogs could also play happily and safely whilst we watched on from the sunny patios. All the appliances were in perfect condition, the furnishings comfortable and in pristine condition.
The view across open fields allowed us to view beautiful sunsets and fantastic night skies. We were truly sad to leave, never had a week pass so quickly. If you want an idyllic stay with your dogs in an idyllic bungalow, in a beautiful part of coastal Norfolk, Dormy is very difficult to beat.

Sue at East Ruston Cottages was: extremely helpful, knowledgeable about her properties, personable and genuinely wants a good holiday for her guests.
We have had a truly relaxing, peaceful week at Dormy.
The owners have given thoughtful attention to detail, which makes it feel a real home from home and enabled us to begin our holiday from the start.
We loved the location, Fudge Dog loved his beach walks, playing in the waves.
We will be back - for sure.
Thank You
