Loved staying in the old place. Your room and bathroom will be small. Our room was musty, like it had been closed up. Every window in the lobby and room was filthy, carpet felt grubby, but furnishings, sheets and towels were super clean

Not impressed with the hotel. Shower was so bad both myself and husband skipped it this morning. Bugs!!

Lovely older hotel with lots of amazing history and perfectly positioned on the river. Staff was amazing, very helpful and informative.

I believe the oldest hotel in the oldest city in Ohio. Great restaurant, bar, free breakfast, great view of the Ohio River and all within walking distance of all the cool things in downtown Marietta. Across the river in West Virginia is a great restaurant as well, the Da Vinci and River Town Steakhouse is also excellent. And come September, they have an awesome paddle wheel fest. Great staff as well. Very friendly and accommodating.

Check in and check out were not friendly. Room was small and cramped. I even booked king riverfront room. There were ants all oversmall bathroom. Room was stuffy with only a window a/c. Did not tell us there was a rooftop patio for smoking and sitting. Another guest told us. Our first visit to Marrietta was miserable!

Bathroom was tiny. Window air conditioners, loud. Service in bar/food was slowwwwww.

We love to stay at the Lafayette every time we are in Marietta. Great staff! And it's close to all the shops and restaurants downtown.

Awesome 100+ year old, well maintained and updated hote, with most of its original furnishings and layout in a quaint, historic river town with many excellent restaurants, stores and pubs. Very friendly locals and great service. Sits on a point where two major rivers meet. Location could not be better. Great restaurant and bar in hotel that serves all three meals. Only downside: Hotel rooms from 100 years ago were not as spacious, but that is part of the authenticity and historic charm.

Nice historical property!

The Lafayette is by far one of our favorite places. The staff is amazing. It’s quiet with beautiful views. There are 2 restaurants within the building and a Starbucks. It has one elevator but we’ve never had to wait long. Our kids love the historic aspect of it. With 4 of us taking showers we never ran out of hot water. Mattresses are firm.

They kept the charm of the original hotel while also keeping things updated and clean. Everything was within walking distance. There’s great shopping and restaurants on their street. The river is right in front of the hotel. We are already planning our next trip back!

We chose the Lafayette Hotel for it's closeness to a venue we were attending. Room was cool temperature when we arrived on a very hot day. Very clean. Well appointed with everything we needed.

Staff was great, property was very clean

The hotel is wonderfully situated on the Ohio River in old town Marietta. We enjoyed the views and the restaurants, but the room was lacking. If you need darkness to sleep, we suggest staying elsewhere. The cheep window fixtures did not block the light. Even after a poor night's sleep, the included breakfast was yummy.

Nice place, stay again for sure

I wanted to stay at an historic place and the Lafayette fit the bill. The property was nice and clean and in a great location. The rooftop seating was so nice to relax and watch the barges navigate the river. The free breakfast in the Gun Room was excellent and the bar had great food and good service. The only negative, and its not that big of a deal was the small bathroom. I would stay here again.

I loved this hotel! Very convenient to everything. We got a king river view. The room wasn’t huge but I would rather have a view than a big room. Elevator could be a little bigger..we brought bikes and only one could use at a time. Restaurant in the lobby was great!

Easy to park and easy access to the riverwalk and downtown shops and restaurants. The room and bathroom were very small but clean. Breakfast was great!

Overall, I give this stay 4 stars. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all wonderful. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a huge plus. My husband and I ate dinner one night in the Riverview and the food was great. We also ate breakfast in the Gun room and were impressed by what was provided with our stay. Yes, some of the rooms are small, but it is an old building so that is to be expected. Our two complaints for the trip were 1) the Riverview was closed to hotel guests one night we were there due to a private event. This was frustrating as it is the only restaurant in the hotel that serves dinner and 2) while service in the Gun room was great most days, it was awful on Saturday. We almost walked out while waiting for our food. With the exception of those two complaints, I would highly recommend The Lafayette. It's a great historic location right on the river and next to a great walking trail. I will visit again if I come back to Marietta!

The hotel is on the Ohio river in Marietta, OH. The breakfast is reasonably priced in the Gun Room. The bar and grill was nice as well. The single elevator seemed to keep up with the 5 floors. The rooms were a bit dated, but the hotel is over 100 years old, but has been kept up and modernized pretty well. A small refrigerator/freezer would have welcome.

Loved staying at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta OH. Everything about it was great except for dinner Sunday night at hotel restaurant. Had a bad experience with being seated and about 45 minutes of not being approached we left. Had this not happened I would have given our experience 5 stars for our stay. Definitely will go back again.
