Me and my friend really looked forward to our stay after hiking and camping in rainy weather in Snowdonia. We booked specifically for the spa, so were beyond disappointed upon arrival, when we were told that we could not book a slot in the spa because all slots were being saved for GroupOn guests which had this feature included in a deal - but who might or might not even want to use the spa! Despite there being free slots, we were not allowed to book one. I am absolutely appalled by this - hence the low rating. I think that if you have a deal on which prevents other guests to enjoy their stay fully, then send out an email and give us a chance to book elsewhere. After begging and getting a bit annoyed, the person at reception finally gave us a 5pm slot - only because some GroupOn guests had not arrived in time. 2nd disappointment: no hot water in the room, showered in freezing water. The 3rd disappointment came when we wanted to book a table for dinner. At check-in we were told that we could decide re dinner later. At 6pm we tried to book at any time they had a table free, we were flexible. Only to be told that everything was fully booked. Surprised that a hotel doesn't do more than one sitting, we could see the dining room currently had plenty of room. But we ate elsewhere and came back just after 8pm. To find an abandoned dining room and a half-empty bar! Must've been a crammed hour of dinner service while we were away!!

We had a lovely break here. Hotel is not new, but full of character, which I personally prefer over slick modern hotels, and the hotel is no more than 20 miles ish from everything to do in this area. Perfect.

Lovely stay. Friendly staff and, clean rooms and lovely bar and food. A little dated rooms but all you need for a nice weekend away.

Very pleasant staff and lovely location. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We had our dog with us and the property is very dog friendly. Breakfast had lots of choice including a cooked breakfast (and an option to provide a sausage for the dog). Only very minor criticisms - breakfast starts at 8 - seems quite late for a weekday stay. The property is probably due a bit of a refresh but it certainly wouldn't stop us staying there again.

Our room was charming and comfortable and the breakfast was hearty. This was a great location to get to the trailheads to the summit as well as.many forest hikes. It was very convenient to the Sherpa bus stop to.take the bus to trailheads and to Caenarfon Castle. The only limitation was the small car park but there are several pay car parks nearby.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room i booked needed maintenance, so we were offered an upgrade to the suite, which was lovely and big. Cleanliness was overall great, but i did find a couple of dog hairs on the bed. The hotel bar was great and drinks prices were reasonable. Would stay there again

We stayed in the bunkhouse. It did the job, but not much more. 1. The room was tiny - not more than 1 person could stand at a time 2. The bunkhouse is behind the pub and parking lot and extremely noisy - we had to wake up early to go hiking and on both nights, it was impossible to sleep before midnight 3. The kitchen space is a bit pointless - there is no possibilty to clean dishes, no tap, and no common area where you can sit.

Easy location and staff very pleasant. Unfortunately the housekeeping was not done and therefore dirty cups in room and no clean towels. Although staff friendly and oblidging the hygiene could be worked up on. No tongs to touch bread only your hands! The milk jugs bought out by holding the inside of the jug! Very old and needs money spending g on it. Noisy on main road . Ivy growing into the windows. Would not go again .

There’s a damp smell on the corridor and it’s quite noisy whe you walk,squeaky floors.I was in the middle of havin a shower then there was no water at all.

Stayed in bunk house, rooms were clean, complaints were heard of and the staff was polite.

I stayed at this property alone after climbing snowdon. Easy check in, was made to feel very welcome at dinner despite the anxiety of dining alone. Enjoyed the bar facilities and jukebox afterwards. Lovely overnight staff. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely come and stay here again, out of all 5 different hotels I stayed on my trip away this was the all round nicest.

Nice comfortable base for tired hill walkers.

An excellent middle-market choice: very friendly and comfortable and I would be happy to repeat the experience. My only concern was that they took my debit card although the stay was pre-paid.

Me and my husband had a 3 night break the breakfast was excellent . Room was spacious and clean bathroom a decent size . We ate in the restaurant each night and the food was top quality only suggestion is if you want to eat in the restaurant at night it's best to book as it's very popular .

Property was in a good location. Hotel looks tired and dated, the rooms we had were clean but things like a handle on drawer unit was broken and no end stop on curtain rail meant curtain came off when you opened it. Carpets throughout really needed cleaning. The photo’s we saw on web site are a little misleading as our rooms did not look like this. However staff were very nice and helpful and breakfast was good.

Great location, friendly staff but property a bit run down and tired.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food and drink served quickly, nice and hot. Homemade to perfection we had the lamb pie it was delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. We decided to book room last minute, actually,once we finished our meal the atmosphere was so relaxing. A nice end to our walking trip back from Angelsey.

Everything was fine, no issues, rather quiet, staff very friendly and efficient, bearing in mind current covid conditions.

Great little place with good facilities and very friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and mattress not too soft. A small car park at rear of hotel, but plenty of free parking on road that runs behind hotel.

Generally very good, heating wasn't very good and no heating in the shower (Rm 30) food and drink were reasonably priced, Staff excellent.
