I arrived at this place and the friendly staff and other guests made me feel welcome right away. The beach is super close by and I went together with my new friends for a few beers to watch the sunset or surf the waves just upfront. The accommodation is located in the center of Santa Teresa and the rooms and installations are comfortable and well maintained! Even though it's low season now, there are plenty of people to hang out with and the rain mostly happens during the night, so it didn't affect me. 10 points, can't recommend this place enough!!!

Great location. A little busy but perfect to access all of the breaks easily and safe for solo female traveler at night. Everything you need close at hand! Owners go out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable. Great hosts!

The road noise could be a lot at times. The man who owns the surf shop out front is too friendly with women and kinda weird.

Good priced private accommodation, a very friendly staff. The rooms are complete and the atmosphere is nice. The garden is lush and beautiful, with a shower! The beach is easy to walk to.

Ubicación central, a poca distancia de bares y restaurantes, supermercados, etc. Personal que te ayuda con cualquier cosa que necesites. Buen espacio en la cocina. En general muy buena experiencia. Como dice en la descripción es un hostel pequeñito con un ambiente más familiar que social. Si buscas estar tranquilo y a tu aire esta genial.

La ducha que me tocó era muy básica, se debía abrir desde donde nace el agua con una especie de llave de paso, y yo con 1,57cm de estatura debía hacer acrobacias para llegar a abrir la ducha. El inodoro no bajaba muy bien, supongo que algunos baños necesitan ser actualizados.

Got a great location near to the beach and restaurants. The little coloured houses were quite nice with an A/C inside of the room. The staff helped us with every questions we had.

There a hardly storage options inside the room. We missed something to dry our towels after the beach. The people upstairs were very loud, we heard every step.

I loved my stay at Surf Paradise. It’s is very close to an amazing part of the beach, the people working there are super nice and welcoming, the size is perfect to meet new people without pressure and it was always clean. I would 100% come back and recommend a stay there!! Loved it.

Il ostello è molto bello, le case sono ben attrezzate e c'è molta natura in tutta la proprietà. Le aree comuni sono molto belle e contribuiscono a rendere l'energia del ostello perfetta! Diego, Sebas e Matias sono molto cordiali e mi hanno dato consigli per conoscere Santa Teresa. Ho preso lezioni di surf e il tour della bioluminescenza è stato indimenticabile. Surf paradise è il miglior ostello del viaggio. Consiglio vivamente di soggiornare qui se venite a Santa Teresa!

It’s not often you stay at a place and feel instantly at home. The magic of this place hits you the moment you walk through the door. It’s the warmest welcome. They are so much more than a hostel/hotel. It’s family. It’s friendship. It’s community. Staying here in paradise was a magical experience for me. I loved my private room with a kitchen, planted back yard and private shower. The AC must have been be brand new, it was heavenly. They offer free coffee in the day (that’s right FREE in Costa Rica) which is a nice touch. It certainly nursed me through a few difficult mornings. There’s a communal area where people get together/work on their laptops/and have meals and social time in the evening. I don’t surf, but the space was respectful to those who get up to catch the early waves too. It’s in a great spot, close to a supermarket and a close walk to all the decent bars and cafes. It’s the perfect location actually. Nothing is too much for these guys. They put their heart and soul into the place and that’s why it’s so awesome. I don’t think I would have enjoyed Santa Teresa half as much if I had stayed anywhere else. If you’re looking for super chilled vibes, Surf Paradise is where you need to be. I smiled all the way through writing this review. You won’t forget your experience at this special place.

That I couldn’t stay longer.

The location, it is perfect to go surfing. The beach in front of the hostel is beautiful with lots of shade. The rooms and linen were very clean.

Our room’s window was very close to the outside table, and even though there was a big sign saying no noise after 10pm, people didn’t respect it. I think it’s hard to balance trying to be a place focused on surfing but also having a hostel vibe. Also, even though we informed our arrival time that was not communicated to the people who received us.

Very friendly staff, good vibes all day long, close to an amazing beach, good A/C in the room, nice common spaces, beautiful property. The best supermarket is around the corner. Free coffee in the mornings was a nice touch. Staff organised a fun bonfire on the beach during my stay and had plans for more excursions later in the week as well. 8% service fee for credit card payments, and a colones conversion rate that favors USD instead of the local currency. Price makes sense for the area but overall pretty bare bones accommodation for the price. A safe in the room would have been great. Some small repairs are needed around the property but the staff seem to be on top of most things. Definitely feel that things will just get better over time here. It was made clear that this would not be included, but I think a private room should include towels.

Especially if you are coming to Sante Teresa for the first time and you are a solo traveler like me, I recommend you to stay here first. The team is incredibly nice and helps with everything. They especially arrange the surrounding experiences at the most affordable price for you. They prevent you from getting ripped off. If you're lucky, you might come across a taco day or a party on the beach. There is also a great environment to meet new people. I would especially like to thank Sebas from here. Sebas will take care of every detail for you, say hello for me.

- overpriced: we paid a hotel price for a hostel conditions. we got a 2bedroom little house with private kitchen and bathroom for a NYE week, we paid 300$ per night - for comparison we had another reservation for the same time at a hotel booked (further down the street - Raratonga) for $200 per night that we cancelled coz Surf Paradise had amazing reviews on the vibe. Well the toilet broke few times, sink was old, rooms were tiny which is ok for a hostel but we paid a hotel price.

Surf paradise has an amazing atmosphere, made possible by the friendly and helpful staff who will go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The location is ideal, with only a minute to walk to get to Carmen beach and a supermarket next door. There is free coffee all day and a laundry service available at the reception. Overall, surf paradise is excellent value for money.

I have been to Santa Teresa three times in the past two years, but there is a nice atmosphere here, I have already been to several hostels, but here everyone helps and knows each other a bit, so you quickly feel at ease.

True to its name, this place does paradise justice. Lovingly cared for by friends with an honest and pure vision, this is what a hostel should be. Warm welcomes await you and an atmosphere that can’t help but positively affect the outlook of any guest lucky enough to stumble upon it. Kind and thorough maintenance staff are clearly treated well, and go the extra mile. Surfboard parking abounds. Greenery everywhere. Minute on foot from the main breaks.. the waves will be in your backyard and in your dreams. Anyone arriving at the hostel will undoubtedly be able to sense that the power of the ocean and a humble desire to share the special place that is Santa Teresa is infused with how this place is run. The friends-ownership group knows what travel is like, want to share surfing and they wear their integrity on their sleeve. The price keeps it accessible and the location is means you have no reason not to surf every day. You are bound to find the owners and guests together, either or the common tables as out on the ocean, in the lineup. Out just past the break, surfing as much as they can, stay for any length of time and you’ll start to see familiar, kind faces, everyone making the most of a magical spot.

Nothing. OK, let me try to find something: once I didn’t have a spot to park my surfboard, because there were too many other surfboards taking up all the surfboard parking which is a very good “problem” to have indeed. To be honest, if you have a problem with this place, the problem is likely you.

I loved the atmosphere and shared areas, always clean, free coffee, and a really nice vibe to chill or work. Everything was cleaned really well and there was always someone around to help you out. Each house has its own private kitchen so end up only sharing with 4 people max.

Everything was great: The place, the atmosphere, the people, the easy access to the beach, all the staff is really helpful and giving good advices on what to do (activities, restaurants, etc.). It’s also a place where it’s easy to meet people.

Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und haben uns mit offenen Armen empfangen. Wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Ausstattung ist top und die Küche und das Bad haben wir nur mit einem weiteren Doppelzimmer geteilt.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Surf Paradise in Santa Teresa, and it was truly an exceptional experience. I met these two Argentinian gentlemen, Sebastian and Mathias, with an incredible knack for making guests feel right at home. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail left an indelible mark on my trip. I genuinely felt as comfortable as if I were in my own home. If you're looking for a memorable stay in Santa Teresa, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Kudos to Sebastian, Mathias and team for creating such a welcoming environment!

The location is perfect, and the guys managing the place are Pura Vida. If you are a solo traveller you cannot think about a better place to stay.
