Die Lage unmittelbar am Goðafoss Wasserfall ist nicht zu schlagen! Besser geht es nicht. Der Vorteil ist, man ist auch abseits der Touristen-Ströme (morgens oder später am Abend) direkt vor Ort. Der Service war sehr gut und das Frühstück, das beste, das wir auf der Rundreise genossen haben. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber absolut ausreichend. Das angeschlossene Restaurant hat top Qualität und hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Personal ist nett und zuvorkommend.

Die Zimmer hätten größer sein können, aber sie waren ausreichend groß zum schlafen.

This idyllic and charming guesthouse brings warmth to the soul. The staff are super friendly and gracious hosts. The food is simple yet perfect. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The smell of breakfast wafted out the kitchen and down to my room, I was rewarded with perfect crispy streaky bacon, soft scrumptious scrambled eggs, generous slices of dill marinated salmon, real ham, crispy pain au chocolat and traditional Icelandic nibbles. Dinner was the most incredible fish, doused in breadcrumbs and fried, served with baby rosemary potatoes and a real tartar sauce. On the second night I had the pasta with vegetables and tomato and lamb which was a simple home-cooked dish. The room was warm, the bed excellent, and the location out of this world. Staying here meant morning and evening strolls to the waterfall without bud loads of others around.

The location is fabulous, especially if you are allocated rooms 22-26 (ask for these rooms when you check in) as these look out over the falls and mountains. Sadly, our room was not on that side, but it did not really matter. The building has been painted so the picture on the website still needs to be updated which made it a little tricky to find. We asked at the local cafe, only to find out it was right next door. The hotel only opens for the summer so it is just getting underway with this season's staff and they still have a few things to iron out. Having said that the staff could not have been more helpful and very welcoming.

It is not fair to say we did not like something at this location. However, it may be helpful to know that the restaurant has a very limited selection for dinner, and there is no other dining option. I am sure the menu will expand as the season goes on but at the time of writing there were only three or four dishes on the menu. However, what we had was very nice.

The manager talked loudly on the phone the whole time we had dinner. And talking about her private problems. It made our expensive dinner rather unpleasant. We cot a clear impression that the staff was not content working there.
