Minor issues - no basin plug and electric towel rail not working.

It’s in a good location at the end of the high street for access to the river, walking, shops and restaurants of Cookham. Recently refurbished and ample parking in a village that is tight for car spaces. The bedrooms are outfitted in a little courtyard and each feels like it’s a little home for the night and not just a room. Comfy beds, good size tv

There was no hot water to wash or shower in the morning. After running the shower and tap for about 20 minutes overall we rang reception and were told that someone would look into it. That never happened. When we mentioned it while checking out it was passed up the chain to the manager who shrugged and said he knew nothing about it. Nothing. No sincere apologies. No complimentary breakfast, meal, drinks or stay mentioned. Nothing. Very poor for somewhere that has changed hands quite a few times in the past and money has just been spent trying again with presumably new owners this time. There were a few details that had suffered fatigue eg the laminated floor in the bathroom, a couple of strips were rising up to the point where I thought I had stepped on a stone or something before I noticed the raised strips. Details really, like everything newly built or refurbished nothing seems made to last just created in a hurry, which when followed up with a lack of interest or concern for customer satisfaction seems a bad sign

Great room. Power cut through the whole town delayed breakfast a little, but staff extremely helpful, and breakfast delicious in the end. Spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.
