Great home, very clean, lots of space, very private, we loved our time there and we definitely want to return.

We had a family reunion of 41 people, renting Hickory(both sides) and Beachside houses which is very short walk down the hill. The hill is a little steep but those with difficult drove back and forth to each house. Plenty of dishes/ serving ware for a normal size group staying. very clean! The house was nicely laid out, however the bedroom on the top floor is really a loft as it doesn't have a door to close and there are no window coverings on the sliding glass doors which may be still coming since it was only just available for rent. With even the very few negatives, we would rent here again. There were many activities in the resort and surrounding area.

The house was great for our group of 10 (five adults, five children). It is close to the beach area, which the kids loved. They enjoyed playing in the sand and with the large chess set. The view of the lake from the balconies is gorgeous and we spent a lot of time out there. The location was good, close to a local grocery store and a few miles from Walmart. I booked our stay through Vrbo, easy enough. I had originally booked a different house that was still under construction. I was told, by OYC, that the house would be ready for our stay, but one month before our trip, I was informed it would not be ready and was offered The Oak House, The Pine House, and The Cedar House for the same price. In the end, we booked The Oak House because half of our original group could not make the trip. Anyway, Gisela emailed me after I told her we only needed one house and she told me that we were due a refund of roughly 75% of the money I had paid for deposit. We were issued the refund and I was told we were paid in full. Great! Two weeks later, I was told that we owed that money back, plus about $150. When I asked why I was told we were paid in full and issued a refund when that was not the case, I got no response. Fast forward to the day we checked in. The entrance to OYC is somewhat hidden between two other driveways. The drive into the park is very steep downhill. Gisela was very nice in person, I did not mention the refund because I did not want a bad start to our stay. I was, at that point, informed that the insurance I had purchased through Vrbo for our stay (paid $98 for $5000 coverage) was not 'required' and was also not accepted. I had to either pay another $98 or have a $1000 hold placed on my card to be removed after we checked out and there was no damage to the house. After Gisela led us to the house, which is another steep driveway, she told us she was leaving for the day (understandable, it was Christmas Eve) and she would not be back until Monday. Now the problems with the house: Dirty socks and trash under furniture, dirty floors, coffee pots took 1.5 hours to brew half a pot, blinds are busted and some took effort to close, refrigerator downstairs has broken drawers, expired bag of microwavable rice and a used vape pen found in a cabinet, upstairs 'rooms' are separated by a curtain, one of the sleeper sofas is broken, and for a house for 16 people we were given one key. Overall, the house served its purpose, but it could have been better.
