Very clean centrally located

The biggest bonus for this place was how clean it was. You can see the ocean from most windows on the west side. They mention you are blocks from the ocean - but there's no public access. Or if there is you can't find it just driving/walking around and there's no directions in their binder (which we've had in other coastal property stays). There's also bare carpet staples near the bottom of the stairs (a small amount of carpet looks like an animal tore it up a bit) so you have to be careful where you step so as not to get hurt. The beds are hard/stiff so for some that can be uncomfortable. Outdoor chairs are the cheap kind (you can see them in the photos) so not great for sitting for long to try to enjoy the ocean outside, but as advertised in the photos. The cleaner accidently took the key after she cleaned that morning, but the company was responsive when I said we couldn't get in and both the property company and the cleaner fixed the situation quickly so that was nice. Overall overpriced at nearly $300 a night, but it's clean. I wouldn't stay again.

We have stayed at VRBO houses/properties many times over the past fourteen years and were quite surprised that we were unable to use the washer & dryer. Then providing six towels doesn't really help with hair washing, cleaning up a spill, or going to the beach... and you can't wash the towels that are there. My husband spent 2 hours at the laundry mat about half way through our trip. I re-read the listing and nothing was actually wrong as it didn't list washer & dryer as an amenity, but it seems like it should be clear that these items are not available as it is a house, and in our case was expected. Besides that we felt that the house was neat, clean, and well located, and we enjoyed our vacation in Brookings.
