Worst hotel I've ever stayed in after traveling to over 20 countries. Shameful service. I booked the balcony room on Expedia and the photos all showed the water from the room. This is the reason why I booked the hotel in the first place. When I arrived, I was given a key for the 1st floor and was very confused because the view could not be like what's shown in Expedia from ground level. I ended up being right and the view was of the inner courtyard. So I basically paid extra and wasted money for no reason. With that said, DO NOT SPEND EXTRA ON THE "balcony". On top of that, I left a "room in use" sign on my door and the maid still opened it while I was In the room. I went to reception and complained about this and was gaslighted and told that I had the sign on the "Enter" side, which is completely false, I would never do this. The person at reception was very rude about it and kept insisting that I was in the wrong. Next, I closed the sliding door to my bathroom one night and the door just locked by itself, so I had to call reception to unlock the door. Thank god I was not on the inside, otherwise, I would have been stuck in. Lastly, when I checked out and tried to pay the city tax, the woman at the front desk told me that I can only pay in cash and this was explained to me at check in and written on the reservation. IT WAS NOT EXPLAINED TO ME AT CHECK IN AND IT WAS NOT WRITTEN IN THE RESERVATION. So I had to go take out cash at an ATM for this.

Hotel Piccolo Giardini is a lovely small hotel up 3 flights of stairs from Corso Umberto I. We had a wheelchair user with us and were able to access via the rear entrance on Via Giovanni Bosco where there are 3 or 4 steps down but there is a stairlift and a lift to all floors in which a wheelchair will fit. Rooms are bright, clean and comfortable. Rooftop views wonderful. Pool small and very cool but welcome on a hot day. The piccolo giardini is a charming refuge. Staff are friendly but this is more of self service as no bar or restaurant open all day.

Location was perfect, hotel clean and the staff very friendly, attentive and friendly. I would recommend this hotel as a perfect location for any trip. Although be prepared to walk up stairs on a daily basis

Positives included the hotel being in a great, central location - walk straight out of the hotel into the pedestrianised area of Taormina.
Breakfast was also good, with a selection of fresh fruit, hot and cold food that you can eat either inside or in the garden. And the staff were friendly and helpful - reception available until midnight and out of hours emergency number provided. They also booked a taxi for us on our last day.
Negatives include that the superior double room we booked was fairly small although the balcony was a good size, and the small bathroom was internal to the room with no window. Being internal meant the shower was a bit mouldy and the bathroom also wasn’t very clean when we arrived. We told reception about this and it was addressed but still wasn’t as clean as I would really expect a hotel bathroom to be. We had stayed in two other locations in Sicily before this hotel and both rooms were much cleaner.
There is also limited control over the air conditioning - temp can be set but not fan speed etc. it would have been nice to have an individual air con unit in the room that we could control.

This hotel is in a great area and has so much potential with its super friendly staff. The rooms are small and the bathrooms aren’t great. Ours had an awful smell and showering wasn’t a pleasurable experience. Location can’t be faulted though.

Great location in heart of Taormina. Superior bedroom extremely small! Hardly room for suit cases, no wardrobe! Bathroom old and needs updating. Breakfast average. Staff friendly but would not recommend

I was traveling alone and meeting friends who were staying at beach. I liked staying in town so I could be more active and explore which I was able to do while also visiting friends at Beach Hotel. Positives about Picollo: location…very friendly and accommodating front desk staff pretty good bkfst. Cons: elevator broken most of week I was on 3rd floor. Bathroom/shower cleanliness. Power went out randomly in room and I had to adjust with circuit box. Frig didn’t work. No place for clothes. I adjusted cause it was a nice trip but it would have been more comfortable otherwise. Shouldn’t be the case even for this class of hotel

The hotel was nice, very nice location near the Main Street.
The breakfast was good too, with great coffee. Pool was a bit smaller than it looked in the pictures, but nice as well, and with free pool towels.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay here again.
We arrived by car, and was recommended a parking facility nearest. Wouldn’t recommend having a car in Taormina, next time we’ll take the bus from airport to Taormina and back, and then rent a car if going somewhere else. It cost 60euro for 3 nights of parking.

Clean and comfortable room. Ideal location, just a block off Corso Umberto and a short walk to the Teatro Antico di Taormina. Breakfast was very good and the views from the fourth floor were amazing. The front desk attendants were very helpful and service was overall great.

We had a great stay here, the staff was so helpful and service minded, they were very sweet. The room with balcony was very nice, simple, but clean and good standard. Location was also good, central, but quiet. Rooftop terrasse with the pool was a big plus! Would absolutely recommend!

Great location, 50 feet away from the main pedestrian areas, Corso Umberto. Comfortable beds. Rooms have been recently renovated. Very helpful and friendly front momdesstaff. Shower needs better cleaning and caulking. Water pressure and temperature is flaunting every minute whe.n Air-conditioning

In theory, this hotel could be great. Aside from the thin walls and uncomfortable beds, it’s in a great location and the staff is very kind and personable. Unfortunately, we had other, avoidable, issues that made our stay unbearable. Our room was infested with small flies and mosquitos that we spent an hour trying to get rid of because the window was left open by the cleaners late at night. The bathroom had black mold covering the walls and left us both coughing and feeling sick whilst in the room. When we requested to get a refund after the first night due to the health hazard and switch to another hotel, they said no but moved us to another room. This room was also infested with mosquitos and had mold on the curtains. Because of this, we had to sleep with masks on to prevent us from coughing while we were in the room.
I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone going to Taormina.

The property was good and the staff was excellent. Fabiana at front desk was hospitable, respectful and felt like she was family away from home. She has a great work ethic and was very helpful on all our questions.
The think that we did not like about the hotel was that our shower floor was stained and looked pretty dirty. It felt very uncomfortable to take a shower in it.

We booked four nights in the Junior Suite with seaview mid-August. We loved the central location, right in the centre of town but yet on the roof terrace by the pool it was peaceful and relaxing. The terrace has an amazing 360-degree view. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and a good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Taormina.

We loved this hotel. Right by the Main Street they had a lovely and necessary roof top pool. The breakfast was average by Sicilian standards. The front desk staff especially Vincenzo was helpful and nice. He helped us arrange parking and an excursion to a beach club north of Taormina.

This hotel was an excellent overall experience! Great friendly and helpful staff, magnificent central location, clean lovely room, and wonderful view, and good basic very convenient breakfast buffet.

The room temperature 27C (the entire building stays at that temperature) was too hot for sleeping so we had to open our door and the noise from outside kept us awake. We were also told we would be on the 3rd floor and when we arrived they had us on the 2nd floor. It is discouraging to be promised something and then switched.

Attractive and convenient place to stay in the middle of heavily visited Taormina. Staff extremely cordial and gracious. Please breakfast in beautiful courtyard setting. Great value for pricey Taormina. Highly recommended!

The hotel is situated right in the heart of Taormina town. It was well run and staff were efficient and friendly. Arrival with a car is a bit tricky as the road behind is narrow and a dead end. The food was good at breakfast . A simple buffet. Good bar in the evening lovely peaceful garden. Pool is very small but good just to cool off, roof deck area is nice.

The hotel is well located, very comfortable and has a small pool area on the roof with sun loungers and amazing views. Eating breakfast in the garden area was lovely, the breakfast food was good and the coffee was excellent. The only downside was there was very little storage in bathroom or bedroom, so nowhere to put out bathroom products and no wardrobe or drawers other than some hanging space on a rail and 2 tiny shelves. But it didn’t detract from the stay, it might have done if we were staying more than 2 nights.

Rooms are old and not well maintained, the bathroom had a weird smell and the staff was not so helpful to address any issue regarding the room and it’s appliances (e.g the shower head was broken and they didn’t fix it)
