For what I paid for the rooms, they don’t even provide towels for the swimming pool. Parking was full first day had to park 2 Km away. When I want to collect my car I spent almost 1 hour waiting for the hotel driver to take me there! The arrangement in my opinion was really poor! Will I come to the same hotel? Simple answer is No.

We have stayed in the Gran Hotel Portoroz several times. The Apollo is part of the same hotel group. Service, bed comfort, and ESPECIALLY the food were not the same.
Had we not tried the Gran Hotel before, I probably would have given 5*.

The hotel has a very good location, near the sea, the saltvalley, and the olive trees, very nice. Moreover the hotel look more like an hospital... a lot of old people with service axed on it. Very bad service and breakfast is not good one (with reserved places for breakfast..never saw it).
The fitness is good, the pools are not interesting, this is not really a "spa" but more pools for old people. The furniture are old and need some "fresh", the service has to be renewed.

But one big complaint about using a bathrobe. It should state in the booking confirmation, before we arrive in the hotel that using of bathrobe is subject of extra charged.
In 4* hotels with spa and therme (which is not cheap at all), using of bathrobe is usually assumed that it's included in the price. If not, definitely guests deserve to be informed prior arrival, because the other way seems as disrespect and give us no choice.

We had a reservation in hotel Apollo but 2 days before our arrival we were informed that it will close for the season We were relocated to Grand Hotel Portoroz. Nice spa-wellness center. Room spacious and well maintained. Breakfast very good. Dinner not up for a 5* hotel
