SUMMARY
South Shields is a traditional coastal town and is one of the region's most popular resorts. The town's Sandhaven Beach claimed the Sunday Times Beach of the Year in 2022. As well as the golden sands and spectacular skies, the beaches offer the dramatic natural backdrop of Trow Rocks and the Leas.
Mowbray, which has two bedrooms and one bathroom, is in a residential area of the town and is ideally located to explore the Northeast and Northumberland, yet within easy walking distance to the town centre, the historic Victorian park and the beach (about 20 minutes).
This ground floor "Tyneside Flat" is a 4 minute walk away from Mowbray Park which is a little green oasis with seats and playground equipment.
Recently refurbished to a high standard, the apartment is a self-contained modern property, ideal for families, friends and business stays alike.
Up to two well behaved pets (depending on size/breed) are accepted but guests will need to contact us prior to booking to confirm.
THE SPACE
Mowbray sleeps four people with two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with two single beds) and one bathroom. The apartment has a pleasant, well-appointed and fully equipped kitchen as well as a comfortable living room to relax in.
The property benefits from a small back yard with a table and chairs.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the apartment are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is free on-street parking to the front of the property.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
South Shields has an array of coastal visitor attractions, including the Blue Flag Sandhaven Beach. It has a vibrant pub scene and a fantastic choice of restaurants., several of which have won awards (Colmans Seafood Temple and Delhi 6 Indian Street Food to name but two).
The Haven Point leisure centre, which has two large swimming pools, a gym, café and sauna, is only 25-30 minutes' walk away.
GETTING AROUND
25 minutes on the Metro will bring you to Newcastle City Centre and 15 minutes to central Sunderland. 10 minutes by car and you are in the Tyne Tunnel which is the gateway to Northumberland and Scotland. Direct access to the A194 (M) South and A19 South is less than 5 miles away.
