It was a nice location, clean and met all of our expectations.

Our stay was great from the moment we accessed the property until we left. No disappointments. Would rent again if we need a spot at Houghton Lake again.

The house/cabin was spacious, clean, and provided everything needed. There is a crate for the dog to sleep. The area was quiet, centrally located to shopping areas.

I grew up in cabins in Michigan so you can’t expect luxury , this place was nice and clean and the portable air conditioner and fans they provide, were sufficient . It was fairly cool out though. I can’t tell ya how it would keep up in really hot temps . The beds were comfortable the first bedroom bed my brother and his girlfriend occupied they kept hitting their shin on a pointy edge so my husband wrapped and duck taped a towel around it , the second bedroom you just have to remember there is a step down . I tripped a few times forgetting the step down was there . The house next to this on the left which looks like an abandoned building actually has people living there and is rather dumpy outside in the right of this place is a trailer that is fairly nice , but is another VRBO . They seemed to have wanted to join our firepit because i guess they didn’t have one . Very close to msin drag 55 which didn’t affect much i slept fine . Just not super cozy and secluded . Overall though it was a great place to stay for the money . Thanks Doug for responding to our texts in a very timely manner . I would stay here again .

Nice place, clean and organized. 2 small issues. The heat register in the bathroom doorway is a toe killer! You could replace with a proper one designed to be on a floor and fit flush. Secondly the neighbor was burning his trash/plastic about 20 feet outside the front door the entire time we were there, I understand there isn't much you can do about it but I thought it should be mentioned.

I’m town for a quick golf tournament. House was clean. There was excellent communication with the home owner. Everything was exactly as described. Highly recommend

Location was near the lake.. Accommodations were more than adequate. * Structure maintenance on the floor is probably in the near future. There are a few spots i was leary on stepping. A fairly large spot in the upper bedroom and a smaller one near the bathroom entrance,

We were very pleased with the accommodations. Everything was exactly as stated in the ad. Nice, clean cottage close to town and not far from water access.

My fiancé and I came to houghton lake for a nice relaxing weekend and this was the perfect place to stay. The house was incredibly clean and the little neighborhood was perfect for bike rides down to see the lake.

Place was very clean. The charcoal grill was a nice addition. Weather was great a little chilly but coming from Alabama anything under 40° is cold. If we ever get back this way again it will be in June or July. Bueatiful area close to everything. The only thing missing was a bath mat for us more expienced folks who are as light on there feet.

Was a great stay. Everything needed plus some. Clean.

Enjoyed my stay a lot. The house has everything we could think to want. Even a Slow cooker! Great communication from the owner. He worked with me through 2 changes in plans. We appreciated the dog tie out available, especially as the house is conveniently close to a major road. Definitely planning to come again

We stayed while traveling for a family memorial service. With everything going on, it was so nice to have a great hassle free place for family go and relax.

There were a great number of rooms and sleeping options. We brought our dog and there was a dog cage and tieout outside. That was excellent!

We enjoyed our stay. Home was clean and orderly.

We had a great time ...it was easy access and we would do it again in fact this is the second time we use this house.

We had a lovely time. Everything was convenient. We had time to discover the area & enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. We found a great restaurant right up the street . Love that they are dog friendly.

Communication with Doug was easy and he was quick with his responses. The cabin was nice and fit our needs perfectly. The yard is a great size for games and a fire. We did have to wash some of the dishes before using, but it wasn't a huge deal. We had a wonderful time!

This house was very clean and had everything we needed for a nice weekend. The owner was quick with communication.

My wife and I rented the home for a surprise get together for my brother and his wife, as well as other family members. They rented other properties around Houghton Lake, and ours compared favorably if not better than most of theirs. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well stocked and organized it was. The appliances were all newer, and though we never prepared any meals besides cereal and fruit, we would have been able to. My only suggestion would be to add a grab handle to the tub, as we are older and my wife had some trouble getting out of the tub. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and definitely recommend it.

House worked for 4 guys who were golfing all weekend. I’d use again for that trip. Main road is close so it’s not super cozy if you’re looking for that but we weren’t so it wasn’t big deal. Anything you need is within a mile though so that’s really nice.
