The location
The old vibe
The room was very cold when we arrived

Gute Lage, großes Zimmer, Bett gut. Ausstattung passt.

The location near the plains of Abraham. The tasteful decor. A kitchen to make food in.
Being in a room on the second floor with no lift. There being no staff on site . Confusion over which lock system we were meant to use to enter the building, not clear in the instructions.

The location was fantastic. It was so close to the Grand Allée, main promenade of restaurants. And the plains of Abraham and the Saint Joan of arc gardens. Our room, #101, was very spacious with a vintage classic vibe. The sitting area right next to the window, looking out on the main roadway, and into downtown is a nice feature. The bathroom was exceptional. The inclusion of the Nespresso machine and coffee pods were an upscale touch. If you do not want the corporate feel of a hotel, this is the place with its eclectic vintage vibe! It fits right in with the old Quebec feel. It is very quaint and very romantic. We would stay there again now that we know better how they run the business. The AC unit worked perfectly.
The website is very vague on how this is a self-serve hotel. You use an access code to get into the main house and then that access code Also gives you access your room. There is no housekeeping while you stay there. But there are amenities available to you at different locations in the manner. Example, a place to pick up your toiletries, and there’s a community kitchen and eating areas in the basement. We travelled with another couple who had room 312, they had a leaky air conditioning units and a toilet that rock back-and-forth. It was very difficult to get anyone to come service this because there is no one in the establishment and everything Hass to be done over the phone. Room 312 was exceptionally tiny. They should detail this in their website as low headroom and may be square footage and assign room numbers to their photos so you know what you’re getting. I mentioned this because every room in that manner is different it’s not like a hotel we’re all rooms are similar. In addition to the coffee provided it would have been nice to have packages of tea available also. NOTE. This establishment is multi floors and has no elevator. There are only stairs.

easy access. close to old town quebec

I loved the location so close to a beautiful garden and the Plains of Abraham. Restaurants, bakeries, shops were plentiful and nearby. The walk to the old town would be perfectly manageable, if not for extreme heat and humidity the city experienced during our stay! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beds, linens, pillows, were all perfectly adequate. I particularly appreciated the wood floors, high ceilings and other details that added to the historic character. Long term parking was easy to find in a nearby parking garage.
The absence of front desk staff. One of the primary reasons I book at a guest house, inn, or hotel is to have access to a (welcoming) human being who can offer advice, help solve problems, provide guidance and suggestions, etc. Otherwise, I could rent an airbnb. Someone at the front desk could have helped us to solve the difficulty we experienced with the nespresso machine (my apologies for wasting so many of the pods but they didn't drop in just right and it took awhile for us to realize exactly how to adjust them.) I wish I could have asked someone where to find a market nearby for fresh bread and cream for the coffee. I'd have welcomed restaurant recommendations by neighborhood - and a map! Curtains that actually cover the windows properly would help those who need the room dark for sleeping.

Location was great, easy check in and check out. We booked the same day and could check in early. Liked the style of the room.
The bed was really hard. Unfortunately, we were on the first floor next to the entrance and we could hear every time someone is coming in or going out.

Good location, easy to find and get to your room
There were no staff available on the property. Good luck getting to your room if you have issues with the lock and your phone is not working.
The check-out time is too early (11 AM) and it can’t be moved. I had to find another place to store my luggage

Michel was excellent although he is the only member of reception staff and just about to go off duty for the duration of our stay.
The rate was very cheap and the location pretty good.
The bedding was clean.Plenty of towels.
Communal kitchen in the basement but it was locked when we wanted to use it.
The room was very tired and dated. Bulbs missing, dodgy electrics in the bathroom, neither the hairdryer nor the coffee machine worked. The cleaner didn't know if the water in the rooms was drinkable and couldn't open the kitchen. The doors and windows were randomly open which is a security risk.
The whole place needs some love, Michel deserves a medal.
The room was nothing like the pictures representing it

Sounds from the next room was annoying.
No closet.

Good location just 15 mins walk from old town and Abraham Plains parkland and river just at the end of the street. Room spacious and bright with ensuite (bath plus shower). Manager met me upon check in and advised me of best places to visit, where to find good restaurants, bars and shopping areas. Very helpful.
No coffee or milk although coffee maker in room for use. Although teabags provided but really needed kettle to boil water as coffee maker pot not efficient.
No housekeeping and reception not manned on the two days of my stay.. Any issues had to be called through to outside number.

The location, close to the Town Hall. The nice and big room. The coffee machine inside the room.
There are no indications on where to leave the keys when leaving.

Amazing front desk staff. He was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well acquainted with the city. The room was clean and comfortable. Fantastic location close to all amenities in the city.

The location is excellent and the staff is super friendly. Overall the idea of a small cozy hotel is nice, the kitchen in the basement was a pleasant bonus too.
The room was not sparkling clean, especially the floor. Overall, the building and the rooms need a little maintenance, everything is a bit run down.

Great location, price is decent. Staff was extremely welcoming. They gave great information about the city and directions on parking and getting to the hotel.
Could have been a little more modern in the rooms. More modern would have nicer and heavier blankets would have been more comfortable. Wifi is a little slow.

The location near the Plains of Abraham and avenue Cartier, high ceilings, clean, comfortable bed, reasonably priced, quiet! A nice walk to Vieux Québec for those who enjoy long walks in this beautiful city.
Drafty (especially when the outside temperature dropped to -30 C. I would simplify the decor a little in the room in which I stayed. I know that they have renovated some of the rooms there and will likely do more soon.

A usb port somewhere, otherwise all good

Really helpful staff. I rented a small room on the top floor. Very quiet, clean, and warm. I needed to leave my luggage for an extra hour and the person at the reception was really helpful. Great service. Their late check-in procedure is also top notch! This was the best out of five Quebec City hotels I have stayed in this year.
