The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our reservation put us on a second level room, which isn't always ideal for us with toddlers. They had no issue switching us to a ground level room. (Although it meant double beds instead of queen, but it was still better than stairs! LOL!!) The front desk employee (I think he may have been the manager, but I didn't ask!) was super helpful with all my weird requests. (A knife to cut up an apple, extra coffee, etc.) After my third trip to the office he told me to just call him from then on so I could put my feet up and relax! We definitely would stay again for the value.

The coffee in the breakfast room. I don't normally complain, but it wasn't drinkable. Thankfully there was a coffee shop not far away! We noticed the waffle batter tasted a bit sour... but that might have just been our taste buds since we were the only ones in the room that seem to notice. (But I DID appreciate the lack of super sugary cereals... the toddlers got shreddies and cornflakes instead of the standard fruit loops.)

Nothing. It was disgusting. The room was super dirty and the area was sketchy. I can't believe that I paid that much money for this room.

Only allowed 3bath towels for 3adults (no facecloths/hand towels).When we asked for additional towels, desk clerk was rude. Told my son that we had to use our towels again the next day. Our room wasn’t cleaned, no coffee replenishments. There was no bathtub plug, & didn’t want to go front desk again.

The plumbing was dated and the fridge made so much noise I had a hard time falling asleep. There was only one curtain and it was not long enough to cover the window. You could tell there was supposed to be two curtains.

A convenient location, a great breakfast, nicely renovated property.

Some of the ceramic toilet and sink features were chipped. I’d have loved a pool.

Overall, the feel of the hotel was old. The breakfast area was not clean and was stinking. The cereal bowls were not cleaned properly.

We loved staying here with our puppy and that it was a walk out motel style.. easy to take the puppy out, have a sit down out front knowing the kids were safe watching cartoons

The breakfast was not my favourite

It was relatively convenient to the Riverside Park where the hockey is played and where we were going for a concert.

It was not clean. The toilet tank was broken and the toilet seat was broken too. The refrigerator was dirty and needed to be defrosted The room DIDNOT look like the photos on the booking.com advertisement. It was NOT wheelchair accessible and I’m certain the advertisement indicated it was. The breakfast was awful. The clientele were loud and rude. AND FINALLY, WITHOUT NOTICE, they were re-striping the parking spaces and filling blacktop cracks with TAR, just before checkout and DIDNOT NOTIFY us. We drive a BMW. We discovered this was happening when we were taking our bags to our car. I think we should be compensated for the sketchy room. WE PAID WAYYYYY TOO MUCH and I couldn’t even access the ice machine because it was on the second floor AND I USE A WHEELCHAIR. We were tired and expecting to rest for our day the next day, but the room was so sketchy we couldn’t wait to leave and walk to the nearest pub. We paid WAYYYY TOO MUCH and we should be accommodated. Also, there were not enough towels or outlets, and the TV was laughable.

No parking for a car and a trailer - had to really manipulate the trailer a lot to get it such that it did not block any others. The age of the hotel was evident as well, not the most modern but was adequate for a single night stay

If the stay could provide fresh towels n bedding as there was a note posted on the washroom mirror, towels n beddings changing every 3 days. We didn’t know if the beddings n towels were changed before our arrival or not.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at the Howard Johnson. It was slightly dated but extremely clean, and the front desk agent was extremely friendly and helpful. They were very welcoming at check-in and served us with a smile for our entire (short) stay. The price for that area was absolutely incredible, and I would definitely stay again just based on that fact alone.

The entrance to our room (and quite a few rooms) was in the back alley, however it's a busy and visible area, so it still felt quite safe. The room was small, but we expected that. Beds were only okay, but we also expected that (and I'm picky when it comes to mattress comfort).
