Great hotel in the centre of town but not noisy. Could walk to everything. Break fast was good but would like some healthy choices like cereal, or yoghurt.
The lift situation was weird due to the heritage factor of the building but we got used to it.

I was shocked how nice this "Resort" was. Not a normal Holiday Inn Express this is a Resort. Very nice, quiet and clean resort. Very comfortable beds. Very convenient to fun: Casino, restaurant on site or nearby restaurants, walking into downtown Deadwood, close to outdoor theatre for movies/music, and convenient drive to Spearfish Canyon, Mt Rushmore, etc.
Only issue we had was free breakfast in restaurant wasn't the best and service was lacking there. Elevators were having issues but did not bother us we took stairs outside one day but could be inconvenient for a disabled person.

The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. It was close to downtown and a short walk to a free concert.
The property was under construction and the rooms are being remodeled. Unfortunately our toilet ran all the time and the whole place smelled of paint.

The location was great. We were able to walk downtown and back. Although the 2nd day we found out that Chris would give us a ride downtown which was great then we enjoyed our walk back. Actually he gave us a couple of rides which was even better. The restaurant was very good. We had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. We also enjoyed eating a meal while watching sports in the lounge.
Really the main thing that could have been better would have been to win more money. However that is always a bonus. We usually have a plan and although not happy with not winning a bunch, playing machines is just for fun.

The property was unique and intriguing. It backed up against a rock hill, very pretty. The building was converted from a mill so there are several levels and side by side sections pieced together to make one beautiful building. Very impressive!!

The coffee shop was a plus, and Maquelle was wonderful. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional, and had a great attitude. We will definitely stay here again.

The property looked the cleanest and most up to date when booking.
I stay at 5 star hotels in huge cities, The Plaza in New York City got us dinner reservations at a restaurant with a 2 month wait an hour after arriving, they put us as guests top priority in their sold out restaurant along with addressing us my name every time they saw us. The Bellagio in Vegas treats us exactly the same. Small town deadwood mountain grand….none of the above. ZERO accommodations, the store downstairs closes early, they don’t have a pantry for guests to buy drinks just vending machines, my family couldn’t eat at the hotel restaurant because they booked so many reservations and don’t care about their hotel guests, the front desk staff is miserable and does the bare minimum. If my employees acted that way I’d be out of business. Will never return.

I like how close it was to Main Street
2 separate elevators to get to my room. Hotel was overpriced for what it was. I was expecting the room to be a lot more modern and be a lot nicer for what I paid.
