Old school motel, I liked the feel of the place.

Check in went well. The facility was clean and well maintained the room was reasonably comfortable
There was only one chair available. EVERY MOTEL ROOM BEING RENTED TO TWO PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST TWO CHAIRS!!!

The location of the travelodge was ideal for our stay to visit big bend national park. The staff were very nice. There is plenty of parking available outside.
When we first checked in and went into the room we noticed that the room had not been cleaned. When we notified the staff about this they ensured it was cleaned straight away and we only had to wait 30 minutes for the room to be cleaned so it was not a major problem.

The hotel had a bad chemical odor, and more intense in the room.

Carpet was dirty. Ithad goat heads and my foot still hurts from stepping on one. Lights by bed didn't work.

My card key didn’t unlock the door very well even after they reprogrammed it twice.

It didn't bother us but someone else might be bothered that the exterior doors were never locked.

Older property, check in at the diner was different, we had to wait until after 4 to check in as the room wasn't ready at 4

No staff. checkin at restaurant across the parking lot. Room was relatively clean. but a little worn. Deadbolt on door did not work and was partially un-screwed. No shelf in shower. Parking lot was trashy. Air conditioner was dusty.

It was not the same building as pictured on the web page. Will not stay there again.

Staff was friendly. Pretty cool with the check-in at the diner.
The walk through into the conference room is weird, though. .

The mini fridge, a/c, and ice machine worked well. Check-in was available late at night since the diner was 24 hours.
I wish there were comforters for the beds instead of small blankets we had to take out of a drawer to add. The curtain wouldn't stay closed, making it difficult to sleep in. There wasn't much counter space in the restroom. Smudges needed to be cleaned off. The lawn in view outside the window was overgrown.

The room was neat and clean. Had a fridge and microwave. Housekeeping was really nice and helpful.
Room had a musty odor and no creamer/sugar for coffee. I’m not a perfectionist so the small negatives didn’t bother me and for the price I would stay again.

Alpine is a beautiful place
Dirty pillows ( not dirty, DISGUSTING and stained), dead scorpion, no bedding. We had to use the sheet as a blanket.
