Staff were very friendly and helpful. Took the time to talk us through many different recommendations for things to do nearby, and taught us all about Astoria. We had a great time at the brewery they recommended. Also, though small, the room was comfortable and warm.
Quite minimal in terms of facilities, but you are more or less getting what you paid for. In some ways feels like it's not quite a hotel, but then it's not quite a hostel either.

The Notblad is such a groovy place….. the staff is the friendliest ever! The rooms are cool and if you get one that shares a bathroom or shower room don’t let that scare or detour you as there are several on site …. I never had to wait for a bathroom or shower once:) it’s actually kinda a cool experience! The location is also amazing centered right basically down town…. We parked our car on Friday night and didn’t move it till we left Sunday afternoon…. Almost everything is within walking distance and if it’s a bit further jump on the trolley on the river front!
Not a thing. This place rocks! They even have record players and iPads you can check out to take to your room. And quite a record collection you can borrow!

I visit Astoria at least 2x per year and always stay at the Norblad. Location is perfect, rooms are comfortable and quiet, I actually love the euro-style bathroom set up with separate toilets and showers down the hall. (There's a sink in the room, which is really all you need.) Staff is always friendly and helpful, wouldn't change a thing!
I'm a little sensitive to smells and so whatever bathroom freshener you guys switched to since my last visit is a little overpowering. Seriously not a big deal though.

Room was clean and simple, very cozy! Bathrooms/showers were very clean for everyone sharing. Lobby had cool features, cozy chairs and was a fun place to hang out with a larger group of people

Location was perfect, staff very friendly both day and evening crew, rooms very comfy. Loved complementary turn table and wide variety of albums.
I couldn't stay longer.

The location in downtown is walking distance to some cool places.
No parking lot. The front desk staff was not helpful. A lot of noise during the night around the area.

no towels in bathroom last day. Coffee should be out much sooner than 8:30am, bathroom toilet dispenseries are FAR to close to toilet. hard to sit down next to them
