Clean rooms, secure parking, well located, friendly owner, heater in the room for cold weather and even has a Nespresso machine with pods.

Very friendly host. Perfectly positioned to be able to walk in and out of town, for the Walker Bay Festival. Facilities were great and solar during load shedding was a big plus.

Really lovely little guest house, perfect for our weekend in Hermanus. Relatively close to "town", very quick drive and easy walk. Pretty blue swimmimg pool and lush garden. Our room was modern and clean. Really nice that the lights and TV stay on during loadshedding! The bed was spacious and very comfortable! Bathroom was a good size with a nice shower and toiletries. Kitchen was well stocked with good quality appliances, cutlery etc. Delicious rusks to go with our morning coffee. Our room was cleaned beautifully in the morning while we were out. Friendly & accommodating staff, we were allowed a slightly late check out on the Sunday too which was nice!
No complaints, really.
As a female, I felt very nervous walking back to the guest house from "town" at night. We decided to rather drive the second night. No fault of the guest house though, it's just life unfortunately. The walk is not far, but in the dark, I did feel nervous.

This was the second time we have stayed at The Gables and the experience was as good as our previous stay. The rooms are very spacious and had everything we needed and were kept beautifully clean by Beauty. Thankyou Rudi for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant and we will be back in the future

Actually received an upgrade to a larger room, which was very much appreciated. Helpful host who gave us a heads up to the eating options in Hermanus, which did not disappoint.

Beautiful accommodation. Perfect for a getaway to unwind. The hosts were friendly and the accommodation spotless.

Large room, pool, own outside table and chairs and sunbeds. Good provision for load shedding. Easy access to main roads and seafront. It was very relaxing and lovely to get the sun in the early morning.
Please don't move guests' things and put them in drawers or bring washing in from outside when it is unobtrusive. I have paid for the room so I want it how it suits me. Also better not to show guests a map of the wine routes around and then be reluctant to give out the map when you have several. A little fussy.

Very friendly host Rudi. Peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful room with very comfortable bed. Very clean with great amenities! Definetly will be back. I would definetly recommend staying here!
