As soon as we opened the garden gate, we knew we had stepped into something extra special.
The garden is stunning, the views/sunsets to die for & the main house was like you had stepped into an interior magazine page, but homely at the same time.
The house was spotlessly clean, the beds so comfortable, constant hot water, the air conditioning super effective(extra fans if you needed it), the kitchen had everything you needed, lots of books/games, even hats!
The pool is not heated, but you do not need it & it was heaven to swim in & just admire the glorious views.
The Wi-Fi was excellent much to the relief of our teenage son. He loved his own space in the en-suite bedroom attached to the house.
Each morning we would go to the local bakery for coffee & bread/pasteries( they do fab desserts too!) & such wonderful people. We
used the Glossa butchers & supermarket, so friendly & helpful. We ate in Glossa’s fab restaurants too.
The communication with Anna the owner Was excellent. The person who looks after the villa, Anthoula was fab at answering all our questions. She was a complete star when our ferry was cancelled 24 hrs before our departure & no other ferries were available. She acted quickly & arranged a contact for a sea taxi, so we didn’t miss our flight.
The whole experience was 5 STARS, we would highly recommend & would return in a blink of an eye.
Thank you Anja for letting us share your piece of Greek paradise!

Villa Thalia is a stunning property with magnificent views. We had a wonderful two week stay and enjoyed the location, the pool and the beautiful stone properties sitting in a tranquil location. We did, however, feel that it was misleading to state that there is parking 'onsite' as the actual parking is not at the villa but in a public parking area some way from the property and involving quite a steep path - this would not be suitable for those with mobility issues and is quite a trek if carrying back grocery shopping - thought it important to mention this.
Otherwise, a lovely spot and a beautiful introduction to the island of Skopelos.

We had a fantastic holiday at Villa Thalia. What a wonderful location and Anthoula. the property manager was amazing. To come home each day after exploring the beautiful island was a joy. Sitting by the pool and watching the sunset…. I
can’t wait to return.

A beautiful, charming villa with a huge amount of character and lots of space including a detached 'Guest Cottage' with it's own facilities. Aircon in all bedrooms with the lounge and kitchen areas kept cool by the thick walls of the villa. Outside spaces are superb topped by a wonderful pool area. The panoramic views are sensational and include the Port and Glossa. We were met in Glossa and guided to the villa which was necessary given how the villa is accessed. As mentioned in previous reviews the road/track down to villa Thalia is very rough, narrow and steep and not for the faint hearted. Once parked, there is a 100 yard, or so, dirt track to navigate before arriving at the villa therefore this isn't a place for anyone with mobility issues. Having said this, the pay off is a beautiful, private, quiet villa with views that are a tonic to the soul!

Thanks Anja for an unforgettable stay at Ville Thalia!
We enjoyed the whole family, adults and children, the place is beautiful and directly invites you to relax in the garden with a pool and a view of the sea. The location of the villa means that it is practically necessary to rent a car, as the local paths (to the beautiful Glossa and the port), although we like to walk, are overgrown and difficult to access in the summer (even considering the terrain and the heat). The villa is well maintained, it welcomed us with cleanliness and a pleasant rural atmosphere. Thanks Anthoula for the great service, cleaning including the pool and help with transportation to/from the villa to the port. We have gathered energy for many days ahead, we are still reminiscing and look forward to stay again sometime (even with cat companions)!

We loved staying at Villa Thalia. We've called it a "retreat" because we felt it was a great place to recharge. You have the sea in front of you and the forest surrounding the property. All you need to do is to let yourself immerse in the peace of the place.
The North part of the island was a great choice because Glossa (the main village) is a gem that has tavernas and small shops and where, after a few days, we had the feeling we know everyone at the shops and in the village.
Skopelos is not for holiday party lovers. Skopelos is a great retreat away from the big cities.

Villa Thalia occupies a beautiful location looking west towards the harbour below, the distant mainland, and beyond that, the setting sun.
The villa is in a lovely mature garden and has a perfect sized swimming pool.
We discovered some fabulous walks nearby and spent most of our two weeks nature watching in the surrounding area. Warblers and Nightingales abound.
This is by far the prettiest and most untouristy part of the island.
Our main guilty pleasure was the bakery, Kyraleni, in Glossa. This was only a forty minute walk away.

Beautiful views and setting. Easy to access the best parts of the island - beaches and Glossa with good restaurants. Villa Manager was very responsive and answered all our questions very quickly

Villa Thalia is a hidden gem on an amazing island. The villa is full of magical charm, very rustic but the most idyllic setting with the most beautiful sunsets ever!
The pool, beautiful gardens, charming house & a few friendly cats made for a perfect escape.
And Skopelos has lovely deserted beaches even in August. Glossa with its lovely bakery and excellent restaurants is very close by, but definitely a car is needed. We had a fiat Panda for 5 of us no problem!
Thank you Anja for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We hope we can return one day.

We absolutely loved our stay in Villa Thalia!
Extremely private, very quiet, with stunning sea view!
The house and the surroundings garden are like small piece of heaven.
The island is amazing but by far our favorite view is from this garden.
Overall this was the best place for our family vacation ever!

Amazing experience
This place is magical! We enjoyed every moment there.
The views are out of this world, the house has a typical , Greek character which we wanted. Contact with the host and the property manager in town was easy and straightforward.
The only downside is the fact the house does not have a parking spot and is located on the edge of the steep cliff, therefore you need a 4wheel drive to manage going up ( we had to stop one time as there was another car going from the opposite direction and we had to back up the whole way as our car would not start from the stop position / we did not have 4 wheel drive). Also more difficult for older folks to walk to the house with luggage but they are very helpful as they pick you up from the ferry and show you the way to the house).
Overall this house was a dream and nothing would ever spoil the experience for me!

As beautiful as always
We returned for another holiday at Villa Thalia, nothing to add to our previous review, it remains as beautiful as always

We had an amazing time at Villa Thalia. It's an idyllic place and setting. Will definitely revisit.
The property is gorgeous and rustic with stunning views.
We did trade in our rental car for an SUV to handle the steep and rough hill to the villa, but that was the only small draw back in an otherwise perfect week.

Fantastic family vacation
What a beautiful place… Perfect house in a perfect spot on the perfect island. Full of beautiful beaches and a variety of amazing restaurants.
A very warm welcome by Christos and an excellent communication with both Christos and the owner, Anja. We were always very well attended even on the rainy and cold days ;)
Thank you so much for everything

Beautiful views
Everything was perfect about this wonderful villa with lovely pool and beautiful views across the sea towards Skiathos. The villa is well equipped but additionally is full of charm and personal touches. The setting is idyllic, very secluded but only 5 minutes drive from Glossa. Christos, who looks after the property is extremely helpful.
Note the access road is not so difficult, but is very steep and potholed - we had the cheapest Fiat Panda and it struggled a bit - I suggest you get a more powerful car.

Absolutely Fantastic
Everything about Villa Thalia was fantastic. Location: it's in a beautiful part of a stunning island, private but not too-remote, and on the best side of the island in terms of wind, sunset, and crowds. The house: spacious and elegant, the garden stunning in size, diversity of plants, and abundance of comfortable places to sit. We used the small pool multiple times a day, grilled in the bbq pit, and enjoyed the companionship of the three relaxed cats that live on the property. Christos, the delightful property manager, welcomed us at the port when we arrived and we're grateful for the care that he and his wife Despina put into maintaining the villa, and their hospitality. This is a wonderful place, leaving us feeling so lucky to have discovered it, and already looking forward to returning someday.

Bliss
Villa Thalia was just as we imagined it. Gorgeous, beautiful and relaxing. Inside and out was slightly rustic which we adored, this villa would be at home in a Mamma Mia film!
We were met at the ferry by Christos the villa manager and the car hire person, We then followed Christos to the villa. The first time down the track to the villa was an experience and i would recommend a 4x4.
We have stayed in many villas across Europe and as a rule we never return to the same place, this is the first ever that my wife said she would come back. Thank you Anja.

Relaxing holiday in a terrific area!
The villa is close to Glossa harbour (about 10 Minutes by car) and offers one of the best views we have ever had. The traditional greek house offers generous space on two levels and we felt very comfortable. In reality, the villa consists of three separate buildings with 3 bedrooms in total, so you can easily stay there with up to seven people.
There are Aircon units in all bedrooms and the beds were comfortable. WiFi is available.
The furniture is not new, but in good condition. The only area in the house that could be improved is the kitchen.
Be aware that the path down from the main road is narrow and steep, so we would highly recommend to rent a 4WD car, e.g. a Suzuki Jimny. From the place you can park your car you have to walk about 100m to the villa along an unpaved, uneven path. This might be a hindrance for people with mobility problems. The good thing is, that the villa is at the end of this path, so no one will pass by.
Christos and his wife come by every other day early in the morning to tidy up the outer areas, clean the pool and water the plants. There is a small grocery store and a bakery in close vicinity of the villa. Glossa is a picturesque village, mostly unharmed from tourism. It offers cute little shops offering greek handmade products and there is a fine little restaurant all the way up by the church.
Skopelos is lushly green everywhere you go and the beaches were never crowded (beginning of July). The greek food is anyway right up our alleys, but it has to be mentioned that the staff at the restaurants we visited was very polite and friendly and we felt welcomed everywhere we went.
Bottom Line: If you look for a piece of paradise away from well-trodden touristic paths, give Skopelos a try. If you prefer rural remoteness over crowded bars and noisy pool action, Villa Thalia may just be the place for you and your beloved ones.

Villa Thalia finds itself on an idyllic peninsula surrounded by pine, olive and fig trees and overlooking the Aegean sea towards the island of Skiathos and Mount Pelion on the mainland. It feels very private yet it is not isolated as there are a few more homes discreetly situated in the vicinity and the picturesque town of Glossa is 2 km away. The views from all parts of the house are magnificent and the moods of light and weather present you with an ever-changing panorama of beauty. My family and I return to this place every summer for an unforgettable time and simply cannot get enough of each day spent here. The property consists of a two floor main house with a kitchen and living room on the ground floor and a master bedroom, a work room, (I use it as a place to set up my portable studio to compose music in) and bathroom on the second floor. Attached to this house there is a bedroom with its own entrance and bathroom. There is also a guesthouse in the property which also perfectly equipped for 2 people to stay there. All of this is immersed in a fantastic greek garden full of flowers, lavender, rosemary bushes, olive and fig trees, jasmine and geraniums which are very well kept by the groundskeeper who also takes care of the pool and general maintenance. The villa is rustic but well equipped and comfortable and one can spend endless hours there in perfect harmony with nature. There are walking paths everywhere in Skopelos and that is also true for the vicinity of the Villa. One of them leads down to the port of Loutraki and the ancient Roman baths where there is a small swimming spot. For the more popular beaches of Skopelos one needs a car and having one is highly recommended for one's stay here, whether it is needed to make supply runs to the town or exploring the many beautiful locales and excellent beaches of the island. The owner has equipped the house with an assortment of maps, guide books and cookbooks which will give you ideas on how to best use your time but beware:Even though there is no wrong way to do that here, alas time in this lovely house passes way too fast...

Danke!

Dream place for relaxing vacation
We arrived in the afternoon to the small and charming Loutraki harbour in Skopelos. We were very nicely welcomed at the boat by Christos who showed us the rental car company and then the house. Except Christos and his wife, three lovely cats were welcoming us to this spectacular view and villa. We cannot find anything bad to say about the house. We walked one time down to the beach and that was quite exhausting so a car is really a must if you like to swim in the ocean and see more of the island. The second floor has a master bed room with an amazing view to wake up to. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all great to enjoy at the outside porch. From the porch you have a great view towards Skiathos. Just lean back and enjoy! If we decide to visit Skopelos again we rent it again.

A place to dream about all year long.
My family and I have returned to this amazing house 3 times now. Villa Thalia has proven to be an addiction that is hard to break. Anyone who has visited Greece knows well how many Edens exist within this small blessed country. Idyllic places to visit, stay and explore. We have done our share of it but I am here to tell you that Villa Thalia in Skopelos is by far the place where we feel that all the elements of an ideal vacation come together to nest in one place. The island, the house itself, the landscape, the vibe, the views, the soul of this land, just love it.

Very relaxing with wonderful views
It was an older property with character, relaxing, peaceful and comfortable. The views were amazing and we were reluctant to go out in the evening as it was impossible to find a restaurant with as good a view. The only time we had an issue with the property the caretaker resolved it very quickly. We found it was a perfect place to stay for us and our teenage girls making good use of both the pool and the local beaches.

Our island dream house
Villa Thalia is the most lovely blend of traditional greek island farmhouse and luxurious villa. One can spend weeks there surrounded by beautiful views among the olive and fig trees. The village of Glossa is 3km away where one can go out to dinner or visit the bakery/market to replenish supplies. Chances are that after a day of swimming in any of Skopelos blue green coves, one would prefer to cook dinner and stay in having dinner on the patio under the stars.
I stayed there for the second time last summer, this time with my wife and two children ages 7 and 3. We had an amazing time. Although some care is required with children that do not swim yet due to the swimming pool, we never felt particularly stressed. A mode of transportation is also required to get to the many beaches of Skopelos or one can simply walk through the pines down to the cove of Loutraki (even though that requires quite an aerobic capacity) .We did both and vote for a car or moped...
Writing this review makes me feel nostalgic of the amazing ten days we spent there last summer. I cannot wait to visit again next year.

Fantastic house
Villa Thalia is a fantastic place and has the best view we have ever seen in our life. Unspoiled scenery overlooking the sea and Skiathos in the distance. We have spent 10 unforgettable days. The house is very charming and it is equipped with all you might need. The garden is so beautiful with the flowers and the olive and fig trees.
Thank you Anja.

A pocket of paradise
This truly is the most romantic holiday hideaway, perched high on a hillside covered in olive and fig trees overlooking the bright blue Aegean sea this traditional Greek house offers complete peace and quiet, privacy and every comfort you could wish for. The main house has a spacious double room upstairs with en-suite bathroom and uninterrupted views out to sea with a guest house leading off the kitchen and a second guest accommodation in the garden. The well equipped kitchen and BBQ mean you can dine at home under the stars on the pretty flower-strewn terrace or by the pool but neighbouring Glossa, a 5 minute drive away also offers several different restaurants to try out. A perfect location for exploring this wonderful island and it's different beaches.

A magical Villa
We loved this beautiful villa! From the first moment we saw it, it promised an amazing vacation. The location, the grounds, the house itself, the little guest house and even the location of the pool is just right. It is near Glossa which is our favorite town in Skopelos. There are good walking paths everywhere, great views and enough privacy without being totally isolated. I hear that since the last time we were there an additional bedroom has been added to the main house which makes it ideal for us now that we have 2 children. I must say we cannot wait to get back to Villa Thalia this summer!
