This place was perfect for our family of 7. We cooked our own food most of the time and anything we could’ve needed was there. The location was amazing, literally steps to a private beach, and a heated pool in the afternoon right out the back door. The owner is very responsive and helpful. We are already planning our next trip to Melbourne and are looking forward to staying at this house again. Thanks Mike for sharing your home with us.

Long term rental for us-2 months. Owner does not know how to rent long term. The place was set up for brief visiting only. Every day (except Sunday) the owner came by for his mail. He continued to have his packages delivered to the house. He regularly went into the backyard to water plants without asking permission. The fridge was filled with owner's foods which we were told not to touch. The house is filled with owner's collections. This means that there was very little counter space. We moved owner's food to a drawer of the fridge so that we could use it. We moved the air-fryer and multiple knife collections and tea cases off the counter and put them into unlocked spaces around the kitchen. We were living there-we kept the house very clean. Counters, now cleared, were constantly washed. Floors regularly swept. Dishwasher run daily. We left the house clean, bedding stripped, counters washed. We left the owner's refrigerated food still in the drawer. We did not return all the knives and tea cases and air fryer to counters. We returned all furniture to their proper places. We did not vacuum the bedrooms -- we had never been in them with shoes on! We did not bring in the BBQ, as the owner regularly reminded us, because we did want a propane tank in the house. We tilted over the lawn chairs every night (onto the grass) to keep the dew off. The owner always put them upright when he came into the backyard. We felt we left the house in good condition. We are a older couple (and we respect other's properties). After paying tens of thousands of dollars rental the owner has attempted to squeeze us for three hundred more because he feels we didn't put things back and that we left the carpets filthy (huh? -- simply not true). House is nice but overall needs maintenance. Exterior doors work badly, some drains don't work, and lighting is poor for reading. You are required to take off shoes in the house. You are required to leave lights on continuously. Pool was great. AC/Heat worked fine after we changed the air filters. The owner was a problem for us.His collections are in lighted glass cabinets, zip-tied shut, and the lights were not turned off for the two months we were there--some of them are directly opposite the living room tv so you can't watch tv in the dark without a glare. Overall, we felt bullied by this owner who wanted to rent at premium rates but did not want to stop living in and managing his house.

Mike is super responsive. House is impeccably clean. Very close to the beach, which was reasonably empty every day we went. Walking distance to restaurants and ice cream! House is stocked with everything you need - beach chairs, beach toys, umbrella, shampoo, towels, etc.

Great location. Beach is just a few steps away. Swimming pool was a great smaller pool. It was welcomed because of the weather. We had light showers and big waves coming into the beach. House has all the amenities! I have stayed at several VRBO homes, this one provided all the little things you might not have expected. Owner wants you to enjoy your stay!

My husband and I and our 4 kids ages 13-19 stayed over April break. The location was fabulous. We couldn’t have been closer to the beach so it was super easy to go back and forth. We spent a lot of time in the pool which was fabulous as well. Mike had nice fishing poles that my husband and daughter made good use of and they used the bikes as well. We’d definitely come back!

I can't imagine a better location in Melbourne Beach if you want to be close to the beach with a pool. The house was spacious and provided all the room our family of 6 needed. Owner met us at the home for a quick tour with pointers. This was a good idea as it was helpful with figuring out light switch locations, and I wanted my kids to hear the owner explain the importance of the prized possessions on display inside the home. The pool was wonderful. The hammock was great. Kayaks, fishing poles, boogie boards were all there and ready to be used. And the beach is virtually right outside the front door! Tons of stuff just two blocks away...fabulous grocery market (with huge wine selection, butcher, fresh seafood and great prepared foods), a surf shop, bait & tackle store, drug store and a handful of good casual restaurants. We will be back as soon as possible. Thanks Mike!

Mike, thank you for a great week for me and my family in your property. This was an excellent example of pride in ownership and customer service. The house was clean as a whistle when we arrived at our agreed upon time. Mike was ready for us, and gave us a full tour and helped with nuances of the home. The location cannot be beat, as you can walk to the beach, market, parks, and the river allowing for fun from sun up to sun down. We all enjoyed Mike's Place by the beach. Our Grandchildren were either swimming in the pool or playing in the waves at the beach. Mike provided four fishing rods and we caught lots of whiting, drum and a couple of bonnet head sharks. Saw lots of wildlife at Turkey Creek Sanctuary including a manatee close up. You can walk to the pier on the west side and the market is a short walk also. Definitely a recommended stay.

You cannot beat this house for location. Steps from the beach and a short walk to restaurants, market, bait shop and stores. Beach parking is limited to residents, so there is little to no traffic on the street or beach! It is also a ten minute walk to Melbourne Beach Pier for amazing sunsets and fishing. Beautiful ocean views from the second floor. The pool was fantastic and in great view from the kitchen and family room. After a visit to the beach, jumping in the pool was a little slice of heaven. The owner is easy to work with and accommodating. The house has a nice layout and would work well for two families with two bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms on the second floor. We would stay here again.

We were looking for a quiet getaway during Covid 19 and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. This is a beautiful 4 bedroom house. We loved having our own private pool right in the backyard. We were so excited that the beach was so close and not crowded at all. This is so easy to social distance. We enjoying riding the bikes. We even rode them to the market and the little ice cream shop right around the corner. My kids loved feed the fish in the pond in the yard. Mike was great to deal with and makes sure you have a great time. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Melbourne Beach. Highly recommend!!!

Great location, short walk to beach, market , liquor store. Everything a block or two away. Mike was great to deal with. Don’t let the orientation scare your, common sense rules. Biggest one is no shoes, who cares your in Florida. Don’t need them anyway. Overall great stay, would stay again. Also he has a great shell collection.

Mike is a very good host. His lovely home is is spacious enough for three generations. Kids loved the pool and the easy access to the beach. He was quick to address the minor problem we encountered with the pool. Mike wanted to ensure that we had a great holiday.

The house was very clean and had everything that we needed. The location is a short walk across the street to the beach. The house was so spacious and full of light and decorated with beautiful displays of shells. Michael was very easy to reach and a pleasure to work with during our stay! We plan to stay here again!

Mike put up a Christmas tree because he knew the kids would be with us. The location could not be more perfect for beach access and the ability to walk to local shops.

This is a beautiful home, on what I would describe as "second row" on the beach (45 second walk to the sand). The house has everything you'll need for a great vacation. It is clean, and beautiful. In fact, it is somewhat of a museum. Mike has an amazing collection of beautiful things. Because of this, if you have rambunctious children, this is not a place for you. Really, you won't enjoy the house, if your kids are prone to break fragile things. Mike takes care of the house, (and lives in it when it is not being rented). If you are looking for a place that you can trash, and leave a mess for the "cleaning crew", find another house. If you want a really nice house, with a heated pool, and everything that you need to have a great time at the beach, then this place is fantastic. This is NOT your average beach house. This is a home when it is not being rented. A very nice home!

The home is stunning, perfect location, beach is SO close, pool is amazing, quiet and safe neighborhood. Mike is SO helpful answering all our questions before and during our stay. There are a few rules but it is all common sense. We have 5 kids ages 9-17 and Mike's rules are the same that we have in our home. He gave us great tips on restaurants in the area, fishing tips, rocket launch info and sea turtle nesting info. Such a relaxing trip, we don't always say this with 5 kids! Location was perfect and he was very accommodating and easy to work with. We will be back to rent this home again. Thanks Mike for taking care of us!

This is a very unique property that is steps to the beach and a short walk to a market and restaurants. My family enjoyed the pool in the backyard and feeding the fish in the pond. Mike has bikes, kayaks and fishing poles available to use, sadly we didn’t have time to take advantage. The house was very clean and had just about everything we needed. Mike is very friendly and easy to work with.

This home is beautiful with spacious living and incredible items collected from around the world. We enjoyed identifying gorgeous shells displayed in cases from exotic destinations on the globe. With such, the house was still kid friendly, with a lovely pool and lovely backyard that had Arboretum qualities to it. The orchards and tropical plants were exquisite! There is only one house between the beach and owners house, which made the walk to the beach a breeze with little ones. I plan to rent this house again in the future!

If you like to hang out by the pool, hang out on the beach, fish off the beach, or walk to upscale or modern restaurants, then this is the place for you. Mike was very accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay at this property.

My family and I (wife and 3 kids ages 8-12) love the Melbourne Beach area. There’s enough to do without the crowds. We’ve been staying in the area for more than 5 years, and I’ve been visiting the greater Melbourne area most of my life. It’s difficult to underestimate how perfectly located this home is. It’s close to several fun restaurants both on and off the beach. It’s tucked away away from almost all traffic. The beach is close enough that you can hear the ocean from the pool. It might be 50 yds max. This came in handy when some kids wanted to be on the beach while others wanted to be at the pool. It was easy to divide and concur and keep everyone happy, but still remain close. The home is beautiful, and Mike is a very attentive host. True story - we had some issues with the grill. I mentioned it to Mike just to let him know, insisting that we weren't going to need it. The next day, Mike showed up with a brand new grill. We would highly recommend the area and definitely recommend staying in this home!

I stayed there with my wife, our three kids (8,6,4) and my in laws. Mikes pool was just big enough for our kids to not tire of it and the beach access is extrememly close. We bounced back and forth between the beach and the pool all day. Mikes house fit us well enough and we had everything we needed.

Our family enjoyed a lovely week at Mickey's Beach Place the middle of March. The weather was as expected with beautiful Florida sunshine and heat. Mike met us at the house upon our arrival and ensured our week would be wonderful. He was absolutely correct as we enjoyed successful fishing, morning walks on the beach, the use of the ocean kayaks and the use of the bikes to watch the sunsets on Indian River. With evenings by the pool enjoying the backyard landscape and the tiki torches - the house had everything we needed. Mikey's Beach Place supplies all necessities for the perfect vacation and this is what we experienced. We will back next year to Melbourne Beach and Mikey's Beach Place....thanks Mike for your help in ensuring our family holiday of 2019 was one of the best!

I will likely repeat a lot of the positive things that others staying at Mike's place have said. The reviews made the place sound amazing and it was nothing short of that. Add to this Mike's willingness to address any question or concern we had during our stay and you have what we consider the perfect Florida beach vacation. His house is so open and airy that the 7 of us staying there always had plenty of personal space if we wanted, but also great places to join for meals or to watch some entertainment together during the few times we were not on the beach. We had amazing weather for our week. Even if the weather had not cooperated, being so close to the center of town, the parks, shopping center, bayside pier, we would have had plenty to do. We have been to the area, near the center of Melbourne Beach for the past 4 or 5 years, but never this close to the "village". What a pleasant surprise! We spent the evening exploring all of the lovely quiet side streets. But back to the house and Mike. Like I said, we had amazing weather, but there were times (we had three days in the mid 80's) when some of us preferred a nice dip in the backyard pool to more time on the beach. A really nice option to have. The screened back porch was also a real plus. Wanting to soak up every warm, balmy breeze we could having escaped the frigid temps in the Northeast, it was a real treat to sit and read a book out there at night while still comfortably in the 60's. Given that this is Mike's house and not just an overused rental, it felt like a well appointed home. We were comfortable because Mike is comfortable here. I can't imagine any guest to appreciating the attention to detail also. Mike was always close at hand - not too close - just ready to help if needed. He is very thorough in going over house rules to help prevent any miscommunication. His house rules are reasonable. I could go on, but hopefully that begins to give an idea of what a great place this is. Oh, and not to go over what is already known, but the access to the beach is amazing. Not only being only two houses away from the beach, but the fact that the street one has to cross is very quiet. We always felt very safe heading to the beach. A great place we hope to return to!

This home is spacious with four bedrooms and high ceilings in the common area. A quick walk to the beach in a quiet neighborhood makes the location ideal. The house is set up to sleep eight (one bed in each bedroom) however the living room only has seating for five and the kitchen table seats six. There are counter bar stools facing the opposite direction of the table in the cramped space as there is also a roll top desk, plastic storage bin, and large rectangular card table filled with indoor house plants. The laundry room is attached to the kitchen and emanates a strong, unpleasant odor. A den is available for viewing many display cases of various seashells; so many that there is no furniture in the room to sit. The house has a screened in patio which would be lovely, however there is no furniture to sit in or dine at and the hot tub is not in working order. The back yard pool is lovely also, but once again, there are three lounge chairs and a few plastic sitting chairs, no dining/picnic furniture or a way to be in the shade while being outdoors. The house does not provide beach furniture with the exception of one umbrella. The combination of way-too-many indoor house plants, dead flowers in vases, and moldy blinds cause allergic reactions. HVAC needs service. Renters should also be aware that the owner will meet you upon arrival to remind you of the "no shoes in the house rule" and to personally take you through the house to point out what you may and may not touch. You will receive multiple follow up text messages during your stay. The owner lives in the house when not rented and has many personal belongings including food, turning lights on for particular flowers, and feeding the fish that you will have to work around. Overall, not bad. Lots of potential.

Our family enjoyed Mikey's Beach Place! Mike was a wonderful host, checking in with us and always answered our questions. It was our gathering place over Christmas for 3 generations - parents, grown children, and grandchildren. Mike's house was close to the beach - just across the street. The beach was beautiful, uncrowded, and fun for all! The beds were so comfortable that my son-in-law asked Mike where he found such wonderful mattresses, because he wants to buy one! There were no sagging mattresses at Mike's house! Just the most comfortable sleep ever! The kitchen was equipped with condiments galore! His shell collection is amazing! We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again if we vacation again in Melbourne Beach. Thanks, Mike, for a memorable, amazing time!

A few things I want to say before I give my review. 1...if you have never stayed in Melbourne Beach Florida you are totally missing out. 2...Do Not! I repeat DO NOT hesitate ever about renting a vacation home from an owner. I did and was terrified. I'll explain later. 3...Book this house....look no further! On to my review. I have never booked a home with an actual owner, I have only rented from companies so I had not clue what to expect. I worried the owner was staying with us for the week also... awkward and scary! I worried about this until our trip was over...and I have no clue why. Well let me tell you they dont stay with you the week... LOL He does show up on occasion to check the mail, make sure things are ok, but nothing intrusive. Our homewoner/host Mike was amazing answering my questions from day one. Apon arrival he was waiting for us to give a tour of he BEAUTIFUL home. FYI, the pictures do it no justice, you have to see all those shells, the yard and the house in general for yourself. Mike went above and beyond all week giving us tips and hints on where to go kayaking, fishing, turtle feeding and peacock watching. Mikes place is very conveniently located between Cocoa Beach and Sabastion inlet ( I suggest a day trip to both). He is also super close to a market place, restaurants, gas stations, parks, and the beach which you can hear all the time. The beach is literally right across the road. His pool is also very refreshing for an afternoon dip. Our overall experience with renting from Mike exceeded all my expectations. Next time we are planning a trip to Melbourne Beach I will be booking this house again. Thank you Mike for going above and beyond to make our vacation a special one.

We stayed at Mikey's for a week and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect. The house is beautiful and just steps away from a great beach. We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool, going to the ocean, to the river park and playground, making family dinners in the kitchen and on the grill, and enjoying our time together with plenty of room for everyone. Mike was a great host, responding quickly to all of our questions. I highly recommend this for a great Florida vacation!
