We are traveling through smaller places in Europe and found the Sonenga through booking. Com what a wonderful stay! The trek up the hill from the bus station on for was quite the endeavor but the streets of Menaggio and the people made it so worth it! The owner was away when we arrived a bit before check in and his lovely employee Maria didn't like us sitting outside. I think she worried about us but it really was pleasant sitting and looking out over lake Como. Maria called the owner and arranged for us to get in early so we could relax. She didn't speak English and we don't speak Italian but we understood each other. We Definitely recommend this gem! There's breakfast available and a pool!! It looks over the lake and is quiet and so comfortable. We had our own private patio, a nice sized fridge and a really well equipped bathroom. Couldn't be happier!!

There was nothing we didn't enjoy about hotel Sonenga. Easier to reach by car than on foot but worth it either way. Great spot too stay while exploring the lake and the amazing hidden treasures along the shore..

Roger is a gentleman and his son is super friendly. Genuinely nice people

The hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The walk to the hotel was around 10 mins with luggage. You need to be quite fit, if possible see if you can get a lift. The hotel doesn't do dinner but lots of restaurants in town.

Beautiful views and not too far from town and quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. The staff were amazing and helped us out with our transport issues.

simple clean and next the pool. the team were delightful and very happy to help

it was ok for us and perhaps I did not read the instructions, but the hotel is close to the centre, however up a very steep hill on cobbles - we were fine, but it might not be appropriate for all

room was large and clean with ample towels and balcony

the pool needed to be cleaned. there was a lot of algae above the water line that needed to be scrubbed off. a lot of chlorine smell.

Breakfast was great, staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere at the hotel! Would definitely come again - pool was also a massive bonus :)

There are two inclines to the hotel so not great if you have any mobility issues

Fantastic location, lovely hotel run by friendly , extremely helpful staff. The hotel was charming and characterful with a lovely open air swimming pool. Also a great, continental breakfast provided!
