Won’t be for everyone but the train track right outside the hotel was really fascinating. Close to beach which was very clean.

Lot of male employees that seem to be always wandering around the property , however could never find anyone when wanting something, room very basic. Bed incredibly uncomfortable. Blanket was something you’d get in a prison. It was itchy and left white fluff all over you. only given 1 bar of soap for both shower and hand washing. WiFi was terrible! Don’t book if you’re needing reliable internet. Location not the best for us.

Ocean View truly exceeded my expectations! The room was quite nice and clean with good furniture. There was hot water and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was kind enough to even set up a workstation in the room for me as I was working from there. Sakun and his staff are very friendly and quite helpful. They provided all the information and tips I needed for my stay as soon as I arrived. The hotel serves only breakfast, I picked the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was a very impressive spread. There are other beach restaurants right next to the hotel to get the other meals and drinks. The staff arranged Tuk Tuks whenever I needed to get to the city, but the main road is close enough to walk up and get the bus too.

Room was large and bed had mosquito net covering it. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Area classed as balcony outside the room was lovely to sit on and watch the tropical storm we had. Beautiful sandy beach approx 100m from hotel. Yes, had to cross the train tracks to get to the beach, but that's a lovely quirk! The line isn't busy and you do get used to the sound & rumble when trains do pass!

Lack of information about the hotel, dining options etc on arrival. It's a very chilled place, but some info would have been nice. The young staff were very helpful but didn't speak much English. The Manager introduced himself to me on my 2nd night as he'd been away on business the previous day. There was also confusion as they don't take card payments, only cash. The Manager took me by tuk tuk to two ATMs (the first one wasn't working) to withdraw cash to pay my bill. Very embarrassing for me! I'd been out the previous day so would have got cash then had I known.

Ocean view ). Spacious and clean room. Good hosts. Trains are coming very close from the building, but it is rather an interesting feature.

The staff are excellent. Very helpful. The room was large and the bed comfortable.

The AC wasn't working but they did supply extra fans and fixed it on day 3

Nice room, clean

There is no air conditioning in the kitchen, so it is very hot in this place. They actually don’t have a lot of things that are included in description - washing machine, toaster, microwave, oven, dishwasher, iron.

The place was amazing. Simple rooms, perfect location right at the beach (with just a 50 m walk and train tracks separating us), wonderful home cooked meals, the owner and his son going out of their ways to make us as comfortable as somehow possible :) All our extra requests (kettle, small fridge for the room, power socket adapter, safe, special breakfast) were met asap and always with a bright smile. The passing train might be a little loud, and it even passes during the night, but it’s not as big of an issue as we thought it would be. We had access to private beach chairs under a small palm leaf roof. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay.

If you want to visit paradise, you should choose Bentota and stay at the Ocean View Hotel. The hotel is located on the beachfront in a quiet area surrounded by lots of greenery. In this mini jungle you can meet many different animals (cows, chipmunks, monitor lizards, mongooses) and birds. The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, there is a quiet air conditioning. Also a nice bonus is excellent wi-fi. The host is a very hospitable, customer-oriented person and a pleasant conversationalist. The beach near the hotel is calm, almost deserted. But if you walk a little to the left side, you can get to a local party. There is a railway next to the hotel, but it does not cause any discomfort. Trains don't run often. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we hope to return to it again.

Our stay at the ocean view was great! The Sakun (the manager) is such a nice guy, gave a lot of advice and made us feel very welcome. We did the boat safari and the trip to the turtle farm, which were both a lot of fun and highly recommendable. The breakfast is also amazing, they even had fresh fruit for us. Also the view is stunning. All in all one we had amazing days there.

For this price would be better to get some shampoo and gel. Air condition was awful - it work only with only one high mode and very noisy. You can't change it. No chance to choose. Railway road - near the hotel in 10 meters. When train comes - it's VERY NOISY. I'll not choose this hotel secondly.

The location was perfect, So close to the beach. We got a our room so early and it was just perfect for our yet-lag! The staff was great and very service-minded!

I had a great stay at ocean view, I liked it so much I extended my stay by 2 days I had such a nice time, the mananger Sukan and staff made me feel so welcome I went fishing and brought back a nice big fish...i was given a crash course in Sri Lankan cooking by the cook and we all had dinner together that night The location of the hotel is sat back of the beach in front of the rail line but its close enough to see the waves crashing on the shore while having breakfast This has to be one of the best places i have stayed at

I am glad we chose to stay at Ocean view. It didn't have an impersonal feel like that of a hotel. The beautiful beach is just across the stay which was very convenient. The manager-Sakun was very helpful and came to our rescue when we had to do rtpcr test before we flew out. Loved the srilankan breakfast spread. Overall a very good experience and highly recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view was amazing. The hotel is only a few steps away from the beach, from where you can see the sunset. Good breakfast.

It was a bit hard to find at first, but once you find it, it’s the best thing!
