Fantastic traditional inn with great views in a great location

We loved the traditional style and where it was located. Atop Mitakesan, we had absolutely fantastic views, both from outside and inside the inn.

The only downside was the travel time to get there. However, if you can make the journey to Mitake railcar station, it's a quick trip up the mountain.

Our stay at Nibori was a highlight of our trip to Japan.

The included dinner and breakfast at Nibori was outstanding. They even happily catered for me as a vegetarian. The ryokan was very traditional and had a wonderful vibe. The staff were excellent, always happy to help. I hope I can return one day.

A Western pillow option would be nice, no matter how hard I try I can't get comfortable on Japanese pillows.

Superb

Wonderful renovated Ryokan on Mt Mitake. Perfect getaway from Tokyo for the weekend. Meals were delicious and we really enjoyed the local ingredients.

Wonderful hospitality from this small family-owned inn: they took great care of our group. The food was delicious and very good value.

The pillows are traditional Japanese bean pillows - it would be nice to have an option of softer ones too.

The food was excellent while the accommodations were comfortable. The staff were great as was the value for money...

I had hoped that there would be a hot spring bath but it was a regular one but that was just my mistake.

Very good

I had a very nice stay at Nobori. The staff was nice and the room was bigger than I expected. They let us drop off our bags before check-in. Dinner and breakfast were amazing.

The heater in the room automatically turned off after 3 hours (and an alarm would start ringing everytime it turned off) so I had to wake up twice during the night to turn it back on. Bottles of water in the room would have been nice given that there was no conbini around, but complimentary hot tea was available instead.
