Located in Miyako Island, 8 km from Maehama Beach, Hot Cross Point Santa Monica features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Every room has a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room.

The breakfast was good, varied each day. Some staff were helpful and welcoming
It’s quite remote. There were no taxis available during the weekend as per the staff, so we were unable to leave the complex to go into town. Facilities are very limited if the weather is bad, we unfortunately we’re stuck in the room (through no fault of the staff, just unlucky) but some staff very unhelpful during the stay

Free private airport shuttle provided by Shigara resort. Easy to find on arrival. Return to airport also free, to be reserved at reception. "Twin room" spartan, but very functional. In-room safe. After 4 pm free shuttle bus to other areas of Shigara resort.
Good breakfast buffet.
Room description "hot tub" is deceptive. There is in fact a Japanese style bathing enclosure with a small bathtub next to the stand-up shower.
Although part of the Shigara complex, hotel is a bit far from the other areas. No shuttle bus before 4 pm.
Reception staff very limited in languages other than Japanese.

It was a last minute decision to go to Miyako and there were not enough hotels to book. This was one of the choices so we decided to book at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast was really good.
It was too basic. Nothing special.

The design of the room (color tone, use of furniture and electric appliances) were stylish and simple. I enjoyed the minimalistic style. The room was throughly cleaned and felt comfortable.
You need to go to the elevator area in order to call the reception as there is no phone to use in the room.
Also, there was no switch to operate a fan in the shower room so if you close the door after shower, humidity is caught inside the bathroom.

We had a fantastic ocean view from our room. We had the room at the Santa Monica Sunset with balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel staff were very friendly.
The breakfast was fantastic!
A 3 star hotel but with service of a 5 star hotel.

It was reasonably priced in a great location, part of the Shigira resort.
The corner room was of a very nice size, and the bathroom in particular was very stylish and clean. The shower pressure was strong and the bathtub was long. The toilet was also located conveniently for privacy.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the handsome gentleman who greeted us upon arrival (I didn’t catch his name).
The balcony had some cobwebs on it. Maybe needs a quick tidy before we arrived.

The hotel description is wrong. There is no swimming pool and buffet restaurant.
